CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: GREAT INJUSTICE(BONUS CHAPTER)

Half an hour later, the internship assessment officially began.

The process was divided into two parts:

First, a half-hour written test, followed by a half-hour interview, making it one full hour.

After that there is a one full hour evaluation time period.

At all nearly two hours later, the entire assessment was complete.

After another short wait, Mrs. Devi walked onto the podium. Surrounded by a crowd of anxious candidates, she prepared to announce the long-awaited results of the today’s assessment.

"This internship interview is finally concluded. The candidate selected as an intern is Navya. And the one hired as a full-time employee for the Khapar Law Firm Office is Priyanshi!" Mrs. Devi declared firmly.

The audience showed disbelief at the results.

After all nearly there was hundreds applicants who had applied, yet only two people succeeded.

The shock rippled through the room, leaving many struggling to accept the harsh outcome before them.

"Surprised?"

"Why are all so surprised?" Shiv sneered, glancing at Navya and Priyanshi with pride.

"Haven’t I told you already. If I say you’ll pass the assessment, then you’ll pass definitely."

"Wow!"

"Shiv, you’re unbelievable."

Navya’s face was filled with awe, unable to comprehend, unable to believe that she has been selected so easily.

Meanwhile, Priyanshi frowned deeply.

To her, Shiv’s interference was an insult to her abilities.

She believed in earning success by merit, not by walking through a hidden backdoor arranged by others.

Just then, a furious candidate, who had failed the interview, stormed into the room.

"There’s something wrong here!" he shouted.

"There’s corruption in this interview!"

He pointed directly at Shiv, his voice trembling with rage.

"I heard it myself! This man said that the examiner is his mother.

Her mother intentionally selected the positions for those two. I even recorded everything as proof!"

"Wow!"

As soon as those words came out, the entire audience erupted in chaos.

Most of these applicants who had failed the interview were graduates from prestigious universities and carried themselves with pride.

They were already bitter about being rejected, and now, hearing that there was favoritism in the hiring process, their anger boiled over the Firm.

"Khapar Law Firm’s practices are really so shady! Completely shady!"

"This isn’t fair to us at all. No wonder I failed the interview!"

"I protest against this hiring process!"

"So the positions were already reserved beforehand? Were we just brought here to make up the numbers?"

"Damn it! We won’t leave unless you give us an explanation!"

"..."

The group of applicants grew more emotional, their faces becoming red with rage as their protests filled the hall.

On stage, Mrs. Devi panicked at seeing the situation unfold and how quickly it was spiralling into chaos, glared furiously at her son.

This was all because of her son’s big mouth!

If he hadn’t boasted about her position, how could such a scandal have been exposed?

"What do I do now?"

She was completely flustered from inside but outwardly she maintained her calm.

But secretly recruiting and showing favoritism was against company policy. If the head of the office found out about the incident she would definitely be fired.

The protests grew louder and louder.

Just then, a middle-aged man in a black suit, wearing gold-rimmed glasses seemed to walk in with several executives.

It was Sahil, the general manager of Khapar Law Firm.

"Kritika, what on earth is happening here?"

Sahil’s face darkened with increasing noise in the background.

"Mr. Sinha, please.... let me explain."

Mrs. Devi rushed forward trying desperately to smooth things over.

But Sahil ignored her and turned instead to the leader of the angry crowd.

"What happened here?"

The applicant at the front was not flustered at all by the momentum of Sahil but instead calmly he pulled out a recorder and pressed the play button.

From the small device came Shiv’s own voice proud and arrogant as always:

"Let me tell you, my mother is the examiner for this interview. As long as she nods, you two will definitely pass the evaluation process!"

The audio echoed through the hall.

"!!!"

The uproar exploded again, louder than before.

Earlier some people are still reserved for not entering the mudied water.

But now after the recording... that’s another story.

Mrs. Devi face went pale with horror about her supposed to be firing coming soon.

Shiv’s eyes widened in horror.

Oh no....

How could mine words have been recorded?

I am finished this time, Dad will surely kill me.

After listening to the recording, Sahil expression turned cold."Kritika, is this how you teach your son and is this how you conduct yourself as an examiner?"

Startled, Mrs. Devi hurried to explain."Mr. Sinha, please listen to me.

These two candidates’ portfolios are outstanding than all others.

Their interview performances were among the best of the best.

In particular about Priyanshi’s case she was even my intern during her placement.

Everyone here can see her ability at work and anyone can vouch for her capabilities.

And the interview results were not decided by me alone at all.

More than a dozen experts participated in the scoring. Although my share carried some weight, the decision was not entirely mine alone.

To prove this I have already asked the experts’ scoring reports to be released early due to this farce."

She desperately said all the reasons that she can thought of at one long breath.

"Internship Performance, ranked No. 1: Priyanshi.

Interview Performance, ranked No. 1: Navya."

"Mr. Sinha transcript clearly shows that even without so called special connections, they succeeded purely by merit. This is proof of their strength."

"I have not done anything at all, their results are solely from their own efforts."

However, Sahil merely glanced at the transcript, then at the restless candidates nearby.

His voice was calm but cutting:

"The outcome may look fine, but the process was flawed.

And you, as the examiner, engaged in misconduct with your son which is clearly against the company policy.

Therefore, this interview result is invalid. These two candidates will not be hired."

The words struck like a hammer at the girls.

Navya’s eyes turned red as tears soon welled up in her eyes.

If she had known this would happen, she would never have asked Shiv for help.

That so-called favor had now become a disaster for her and her friend.

Priyanshi too felt a lump rising in her throat.

Her hands trembled as disappointment overwhelmed her mind.

"This is all your fault," Navya whispered bitterly, glaring at Shiv.

"If it weren’t for you, we would have passed."

Shiv’s face flushed with embarrassment. He had thought he was helping, yet his interference had backfired completely.

With their own strength, Navya and Priyanshi should have cleared the interview without issue.

But now, thanks to his involvement, not only were their results voided completely, they were even blacklisted from future opportunities and this might even left a lifelong dirt in their careers.

The sudden reversal left the other applicants stunned.

They knew these two had talent, and even without special favors their performance had been superior then them.

Some even pitied their fate but no one came forward to defend them, after all they are all competitors for the same posts.

No matter how much they sympathy someone they could never harm their own interests and defend someone that have no relationship with them at all.

Now, with everyone grievances resolved, the room grew quiet. No one dared to continue stirring trouble everyone simply stood back and watched for the aftermath to settle down.

Priyanshi’s eyes were filled with grievance as she clenched her fists, unable to accept the injustice.
