CHAPTER 81: CHAPTER 81: RETURNING TO ANCIENT TIMES

Mr. Sinha laughed and continued, "We’ll do exactly as you suggested Mister."

"As you have all heard clearly, this time it was totally the fault of the Examiner in not being able to remain impartial. In the current situation clearly the Mister’s idea is fair and reasonable."

He raised his voice for everyone to hear.

"Therefore, the today’s evaluation decision stands out as earlier stated: Miss. Priyanshi is now a full-time employee of Khapar Law Firm, and Miss. Navya too will join us as an intern this year."

The room voice erupted in tandem.

The General Manager of one of the famous Law Firms in whole Mumbai had actually listened to a security guard and changed his decision on the spot!

Everyone stared in disbelief unable to believe what they are experiencing.

For Navya and Priyanshi, it felt almost unreal to them, today was like a roller coaster ride to them, so full of surprises.

Shiv and his mother Mrs. Devi exchanged confused looks.

A single thought hit them both at the same time:

Who on earth is this security guard?

Why would Mr. Sinha obey his words?

"As for you..." Mr. Sinha turned and continued coldly toward Mrs. Devi.

"Showing favoritism in an official hiring process as a Examiner from here on, effective immediately, you’re fired from the job."

He did not dare risk offending Alex.

If there was anyone else in this matter involved other than Alex, he might not have given a Damn about the matter .

But this is entirely another matter, and she can’t escape the consequences either.

"Mr. Sinha, please! Can’t you make an exception for me this time? Just like the way others have been spared before?"

Mrs. Devi pleaded desperately.

After all this was no ordinary job to her. It came with a seven-figure salary and enviable perks.

Losing it now will be devastating for her.

But Mr. Sinha shook his head. "Impossible. Keeping you would mean sleepless nights for me. Why should I risk offending him?"

He pointed directly at Alex.

Shiv and Mrs. Devi both turned their eyes to him, only to see Alex smile faintly and walk away from them.

"This guy...who is he?" Shiv muttered bitterly in anguish.

If that so-called guard hadn’t spoken up, things wouldn’t have ended like this.

Instead of gaining anything, his mother had lost a million-dollar job.

Worse, Priyanshi and Navya now saw him as their enemy common enemy.

The more Shiv thought about it, the angrier he became. Soon there was nothing but anger burning in his mind.

"Oh, right! I seem to remember, that guy seem to park the car at the main entrance in a No parking Zone, I’ll report him and make trouble for him!"

Cursing under his breath, Shiv sprinted down the stairwell before Alex even exited the building through the lift.

He waved down patrolling guards. "Hey! Tow that car! That guy parked the car illegally, get rid of it fast!"

The guards looked at each other than at him like he’d lost his mind.

One of them chuckled, shaking his head."That car? That is our Boss car. What are you talking about?"

Shiv froze mid step.

The boss’s...?

In a flash, it all clicked. No wonder Mr. Sinha had suddenly changed his tone.

That "security guard"... was actually the real owner of the firm.

As Alex drove away in his plain Volkswagen, Shiv’s body stiffened, realization crashing down on him bit by bit.

-----

"Haha.. so refreshing is this how being rich is like, Okay enough of this farce, I think now I should finally go back to Ancient Times, it’s been so long already a week."

"Last time, I gave them the location of the bandits’ hideout, but I wonder... has Miss Evelyn joined forces with the authorities to wipe them out or not?

And what about the stock rations that I prepared last time, Is that sold till now or not?"

Alex’s mind buzzed with questions, a mix of curiosity and anticipation for the new Gold.

This morning, he woke up to noticed something new: his security uniform had upgraded.

Where before he could only remain in the past for eight hours at a stretch, now he could stay for sixteen long hours.

Even better now, he discovered that he could return to the modern world anytime but the condition is that he have to returned to the exact same spot where he had first crossed over.

"Let’s go," he muttered.

In the villa room, Alex’s figure shimmered into white light and vanished.

...

The Ancient Era.

Ironhold City.

Inside the warehouse, Alex organized and transferred stacks of supplies before stepping outside.

Waiting at the door stood a man built like a tower, his eyes sharp and alert.

This was none other than Jacob Stone, the man who once tried to kill Alex.

Ever since Alex had defeated him, Jacob had sworn loyalty, carrying out orders without hesitation.

Always available on beck and call.

For the past week, he had guarded the warehouse faithfully.

Alex was more than a leader to him, he was a savior.

If not for him, Jacob’s elderly mother would likely have fallen victim to Simon’s cruelty.

That alone was reason a enough for him to follow him unconditionally.

And life under Alex had already proved better for him than expected.

For the first time in years, he ate his fill every day.

The Hartwell family treated him with unexpected kindness, something he never imagined possible.

"Boss, you’re finally out," Jacob called, his voice respectful but laced with relief.

He never had asked or intended to find out what Alex did inside the warehouse.

That wasn’t his place to say.

Whatever the boss was planning, Jacob believed he had his reasons.

"I haven’t been out in a while," Alex said with a faint smile. "Let’s take a walk."

He tossed a small bottle of coke to Jacob .

"Good," Jacob answered, catching it.

He twisted the cap, took a sip, and froze.

His eyes widened. "What is this? It’s... sweet. So Refreshing."

Alex chuckled at that lifting his own bottle and taking a sip. "Coke."

Jacob gave a puzzled nod, not really understanding, but he knew better than to question it further.

Side by side, the two men left the warehouse and strolled into the bustling streets of Ironhold City.
