CHAPTER 84: CHAPTER 84: HIM....OR HER??

After holding his breath for too long underwater, the man in black or we say woman in black choked on the river’s current, her face twisting in misery of her situation.

Yet, despite her distress she remained stubborn, she rather than focusing on fleeing she continued her relentless assault on Alex, leaving bruises and injury across Alex’s body.

She did not hold back at all, her sword skill are superb, each strike sharp that would draw blood from the opponent.

Alex endured all the pain in silence, quitely bidding his time, his hands were repeatedly reaching out, gripping the assassin’s waist tightly trying his best to do whatever he can do to remain living.

The river roared around them, turbulent and unforgiving as always and the two continued to struggled in its depths, each one trying to outsmart each other in their underwater brawl.

At some point during the brawl, the black sash tied around the assassin’s waist came loose too, freeing what had been tightly bound around her chest.

Alex’s gaze darted around at her body, and his eyes caught sight of two striking, snow-white mountain peaks before him majestic and breathtaking all at once.

His eyes widened slightly at the audacity of the situation.

Drawing from his experience watching Japanese less than decent films, he judged them to be at least a D-cup size.

That slender waist paired with such striking features her figure could easily rival a Miss World contestant.

Faced with this captivating sight, Alex could not help but swallow hard the heat rapidly gushing from his lower abdomen to his mind, the pain he felt momentarily fading with the sight of the mountains trembling.

A thought flickered through his mind.

When the assassin had been struggling in his grasp earlier, Alex had noticed there is something bumpy on her chest something that does not seem right at place.

He couldn’t pin point at that time, now he finally knew what is hidden beneath that tight black clothes—and it was far more striking than he’d imagined it to be.

He could not help but wonder what it will feel to held them in his hands.

Alex inadvertently could not help but have these thoughts, after all no man can resist a beauty such as hers.

But he did not fall at the her beauty and hurriedly stop his indecent thoughts and soon focus on his current situation.

The black-clad assassin meanwhile has swallowed several mouthfuls of water and choked, her pale face twisting in panic with each passing second.

Her wide eyes glared at Alex with a mix of fear, desperation and resentment, which are just too cute to ignore for any other man... but not Alex.

But her hands still struck with lethal intent whenever she lashed out at him.

Alex wasn’t fooled by her at all. He knew better than anyone to trust a snake, rather than the woman’s heart, those eyes were just another trick of her.

After a while when she understood that she couldn’t sway him with his beauty trap and with the increasing time in the river, the assassin soon realized that she couldn’t hold on underwater any much longer.

With a desperate kick to his stomach, she tore herself free from his grasp and swam off downriver trying to flee.

Seeing her flee, he didn’t chase her and after letting her go he too ran to the surface to breath in some fresh air.

"Phew..." Alex finally broke the surface, gasping for air, before this the air never felt so sweet.

Thank the God! That girl does not know how to swim in water. Otherwise I would be really be finished this time.

Just as Alex was coming out from today’s ordeal, he suddenly heard the voice of Jacob from a distance, at once all the strength seem to left his body and he fell down.

"Boss, are you alright?!"

Jacob came rushing up just as he saw Alex dragged himself onto the muddy shore who was barely able to stand from a distance.

Alex collapsed beside him, pale and shaking from the water.

Jacob quickly checked his wounds and frowned. "Your injuries aren’t fatal Boss, but you’ll need at least half a month of rest before you’re fully recovered from this much injuries."

Hearing that, Alex finally felt a little relief wash over his body. The pain was still brutal, but at least it wasn’t the end of his life.

"I am sorry, Boss. But I have to do this to force out the poison."

"Wait—what do you mean by—"

Before Alex could finish, Jacob slammed a heavy palm against his back.

Alex hissed from the pain as a mouthful of black blood burst from his mouth.

His whole body is in agony, but he clenched his teeth and endured it.

Inside though, he was already cursing that assassin’s ancestors eighteen generations back.

Don’t let me catch you girl, otherwise... humph!

"Damn it!" Alex spat.

"Who the hell was that assassin? She chased me for ten miles like a mad dog! What did I ever do to her? I didn’t kill her whole family!"

Jacob thought for a moment trying to piece out the pieces in place, then gave a serious nod. "Boss... actually, you might have indirectly killed his whole family."

"...What??" His eyes nearly popped out by shock.

Jacob explained.

"At first I wasn’t sure, but now I recognize him or rather her.

That assassin is the sole heir of the old bandit leader.

When I was young, I even crossed paths with her once. You wiped out their den... so yes, from her point of view, you really did kill her whole family."

"???!" Alex froze.

So it was the bandit leader’s offspring... no wonder she chased me like a lunatic over such a distance.

Jacob helped him in standing up. "Boss, we can’t stay here. Let’s go back to the Hartwell residence as fast as we can, otherwise the remaining bandits might take this chance to kill you again."
