I Sell Bottled Water for Gold in Another World!
Chapter 91: Returning
CHAPTER 91: CHAPTER 91: RETURNING
"Brother Alex, I have made some food for you."
That voice brought Alex from his daydream state, he turn around to found, Lucy is walking out from the kitchen, in her hand she was carrying the dishes she had prepared for them, and Alex seeing her immediately went over to join her for the meal.
By now, Nathan had long since gotten used to seeing this routine every day, since he often brought members of the Viper Syndicate back to the courtyard, and meals prepared by Lucy had become a familiar sight.
But something didn’t felt right to him today, he felt that his sister seem to be ....glowing?
"Sis, I do know why, but I feel like you have changed a little since the last time I have seen you," Nathan said, scratching his head with a puzzled expression on his face.
Although he could not pinpoint exactly what was different about her today, but something about her seemed unusual compared to before, though he could not quite explain what it was.
"What’s different?" Lucy’s cheeks immediately flushed red with embarrassment, and she gave him a sharp warning glare.
"It’s like you’ve become... well..."
"More beautiful?" Alex immediately cut in smoothly, raising his eyebrows at Nathan .
Nathan hesitated for a long while, then finally nodded awkwardly.
"You sure know how to talk, wasn’t I was beautiful before already." Lucy scolded him lightly but she couldn’t hide her blush deepening as she turned her head away due to it.
"Lucy, what did you make for lunch? I used up a lot of energy earlier today, and I definitely need to replenish myself." Alex said with a playful blink, making the words sound half like a joke and half pointing out on something.
Upon hearing this, Lucy’s face turned even redder, and she lowered her voice, "If you want to know, then come to the kitchen with me."
"I want that something special to eat too!" Nathan quickly interjected, raising his hand as if afraid of being left out.
Nathan snorted and said flatly, "No."
"Sis, don’t just ignore me now that you have Brother Alex," Nathan complained pulling a long face, it doesn’t take a genius to understand what has transpired between them.
And Nathan thinking his position at home was being stolen right out from under him couldn’t help but complain.
"Haha!"
The other members of the Viper Syndicate who were standing nearby couldn’t hold back and all burst into laughter at the sight of their Boss sulking like a child.
"If you keep talking like that, I’ll forbid you from eating anything I cook for an entire week," Lucy shot back, her face still flushed as she glared at him for exposing the relationship.
After finishing the lunch that Lucy had carefully prepared for them they all left to do their work in the city.
Nathan and his henchmen left to the city to sell more goods from the warehouse.
Alex asked the Jacob to guard the warehouse from time to time.
He felt that there is nothing major to do today so he wanted to leave early, but just as he was going to his warehouse to travel back a messenger came to find Alex and relayed his message for him to find Mr. Hartwell and left.
Alex hurried back to Hartwell manor, where he waited for Mr. Hartwell to come.
Just as he was waiting in the guest room, Mr. Hartwell came and personally handed over two large bags filled with gold, placing them in front of him with gratitude.
Mr. Hartwell was deeply concerned about Alex attitude as he was handing down the money from the sales, and when he gave him the gold, he thanked him sincerely after that.
"Mr. Hartwell, this is really a win-win cooperation between us. If you hadn’t helped me sell water, I wouldn’t have been able to earn so much money," Alex said casually, smiling as he waved his hand. "There’s no need to keep thanking me like this."
In Alex’s eyes, Mr, Hartwell had already proven himself to be a dependable and trustworthy person to him; otherwise, he never would have chosen to let the Hartwell family assist him with selling water in the first place.
"That may be true, but I still must thank you," Mr. Hartwell replied earnestly. "If it weren’t for you, Mr. Alex, I fear this old man might not even be alive today. And Lucy and Nathan, my children would never have the stable, decent life they are able to enjoy right now."
Nathan spoke with genuine generosity.
In the past, he had never truly understood or believed what people meant when they talked about that God always send a ’noble person’ who appears at just the right time to change your fate, whenever you are in dire situation and too weak to overcome from it.
But now he finally understood—Mr. Alex was the noble person of the Hartwell family sent by the God to them who didn’t ask much from them but instead helping them to regain their old glory.
After chatting for a while longer with Mr. Hartwell, Alex eventually bid farewell to him.
Carrying the two large bags of gold with him didn’t tire him too much now as they were feeling as light as feathers in his arms now after his regular training of his body in Martial Arts.
Accepted, that he didn’t have much talent in it, but he is still making progress daily however slow it is.
He returned to the warehouse, and from there he quietly asked the system to travel him back, this time he stayed here for a total of 10 hours leaving him with extra 6 hours of time to stay, but he didn’t felt it to use it now.
So he simply left early, in no time a vortex quickly formed behind him continuously rotating, continuously contracting sucking him in it and then the portal collapsed, returning the warehouse to its silence.
