Chapter 106: Violet tells the truth
CHAPTER 106: VIOLET TELLS THE TRUTH
***Author’s Note: Realized it’s been awhile since I gave an update on what’s going on with the vampires, my bad yall ***
~THIRD PERSON POV~
Blood had become a theme for the royal family. Especially for Queen Violet, blood became an accessory for her.
The vampires had stopped tearing through the wolf packs, and they decided to restrategize. They needed a different approach.
Queen Violet had changed more and more over the last few weeks. Drowning in sorrow and rage. She felt hollowed out. Like something evil was growing in its place. She’d been struggling with internal turmoil. She just wanted to know where her daughter was, and if she was safe.
Kalvin had searched tirelessly trying to find Odette, but to no avail. He wasn’t giving up, but he felt defeated.
Arya decided it was time to reach out again and she called on the goddess.
When Arya started the ceremony. She opened the portal and asked for the goddess to grace them.
This time Artemis responded in person this time. She came with answers and a warning.
At first, silence filled the room after Arya finished her chant. Nothing had happened. Doubt crept in their hearts and mind.
Then the candles started flickering and the air began to glow with moonlit illuminants. It was mystical.
In the center of the circle, a windstorm formed a cyclone. Clouds formed in the sky darkening the world. The candles flickered out for a moment. The room went dark, the moon disappearing from the sky.
A glowing figure emerged from the circle and the candles all around relit themselves but instead of an orange flame, white ones replaced it.
The air in the room seemed to be sucked out as the ethereal being appeared before them now with clarity.
She had that fell to the floor; long and white it flowed weightlessly around her, she had eyes that glowed white, white like Odette. But Artemis had a clouded sky look to them. She wore a sharp white dress with sliver and diamonds etched into the bodice. Sleeves that flowed like waves, and a skirt that floated with no wind to lift it.
She was so beautiful too look at; it hurt. Her features were sharp, and she had a raw powerful and deadly aura surrounding her, encasing her like a shield.
Arya went to speak, but the goddess held up her hand silencing her before she could even open her mouth.
"You wish to know of my child" She said firmly glaring hard at Violet.
A possessive growl left her lips unknowingly to her.
"Yes, Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt and of the Moon, where is my daughter? Can you help me please find her?"
"This is your journey, Violet. Her fate is in motion; her purpose is clear." The Goddess spoke with an absolution that made the walls tremble. "She is where she should be, if you chase her, you will not like what you find. The path you are on is one of destruction and bloodshed. Once you commit to this path there will be no return. Are you prepared to pay the price for vengeance?"
"I will pay any price if it means I will have my daughter back." Violet spoke with a decisive and confident tone.
"If that is the path you choose Queen of Darkness. She lies to the east in a land of snowcapped mountains and waring wolves. Surrounded by enemies but will soon be in the arms of her protector." The Goddess spoke. "The journey that lies ahead is one filled with misery and anguish. I cannot give you more than what I have said, my time is running short. I’m not meant to remain here for long."
"Thank you, my goddess, for your help and wisdom." Arya spoke with her eyes and chin pointed down in respect to her.
"Arya, you know what needs to be done with your coven and what is to come. Remember your vow."
And with those last words her figure became distorted and with a blinding explosion, moondust filled the air, the candles flames flickered from white back to orange and clouds in the sky cleared away showcasing a beautiful waxing moon in the sky.
The occupants of the room were left utterly speechless. So many questions were left unanswered.
Even after hearing the goddess’s warning, Violet wasn’t deterred from moving forward with her plan to rescue her daughter. No matter what the goddess told her, she knew firsthand how animalistic shifters, especially wolves, could be.
She couldn’t leave her daughter to the wolves. She just couldn’t.
After the meeting with the goddess, they decided to let everyone in on the truth. Inform them of exactly who Odette was. What she meant.
Arya set up for the blanket of silence spell, pulling collective magic from her coven, strengthening it just enough.
"Explain. Now. What’s going, why all the extra measures for privacy and secrecy?" Rosa asked.
"I’ll tell you." Violet answered quickly, she sounded annoyed, ’why else would I bring you here?’ she thought to herself.
"We’ve kept a secret, one, that until now, we couldn’t speak about. We took an oath. We could have done this sooner, but it was a reality I didn’t want to face. I couldn’t face. I don’t have a choice now, the reality I was avoiding found us anyways."
"Do you remember a prophecy we told some of you about?" Violet looked at Lilith, who stood leaning to the side with her arms crossed." And she nodded.
"I will the rest of you now. Before Odette was born. We did a reading with Arya. She the goddess spoke through her and gave us a prophecy,
"Born beneath the Blood Moon’s glow
A gift that was promised long ago.
Of sun and shadow, she is made
Both holy spirit and death’s dark blade
Light in bone and night in breath
She will walk between life and death.
The wolf who lived when all did die.
Will guard the one the gods decry.
Bound to protect or end her breath
Love twisted close with duty’s death
But when the earth begins to quake
And hell beneath the stars shall shake
The Moon Child will stand where fate entwine.
To break the chain or be the bind."
Violet spoke the prophecy without a single breath, and it didn’t strain her.
They all just looked at her with confusion, disbelief, curiosity, and nervousness.
She let the weight of the words she said settle in for a moment before she continued.
"We were planning to tell you guys after the wedding and coronation, but with what happened after. The time was never made to tell you. Then life started moving forward, and we hoped that it wasn’t real, we pretended it wasn’t real, but we prepared for the possibility with her excessive training. It’s why her schedule has been so diligently managed."
"So, what does this all mean for us? For Odette?" Jeremy asked. His voice aggravated but masked by indifference.
"It means there’s a battle and Odette stands at the front of it." Violet answered
"The MoonChild? That’s Odette?" Oliver asked.
"Yes, she is also the reincarnated daughter of Artemis. Do you all remember how Riley died?" Violet mentions reminding them of the night of her coronation.
"Yes, you burned the little prick alive." Jeremy answered proudly a devilish grin reached his cheeks. It was a sight that brought him pure joy.
"I didn’t. That was actually Odette. She was blessed by Artemis with her special ability Divine Fyre. She spoke through me taking over my body. She killed Riley, defending me and punishing him." Violet confessed.
"We binded her once she was born, it’s why her gifts came in so late and so slowly. Because we sealed her. She was capable of so much so young. It was for everyone’s safety she learned patience and discipline. She would need to be fit and skilled to manage so much power. We made her strong enough to bare the effects of her abilities. We couldn’t have a child running around that’s capable of burning someone’s soul for eternity." Ash tells the group.
"Why did you keep it a secret for 18 years?" Oliver asked.
"She already answered that, Oliver. Ask a relevant question." Lilith snapped.
"Why are you being so cranky right now?" Oliver remarked.
Lilith scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"Like I said, Oliver. Life moved forward, and before we knew it, time went by fast." Violet said annoyed with answering this a third time.
"So, to make sure I understand. My granddaughter is the daughter of a goddess, and destined to fight in some battle with an evil entity of unknown origin?" Vladimir spoke up.
"Yes. And now that she’s gone, everything we’ve worked for, it’s tumbling. She can’t train if she’s been kidnapped." Ash growled.
"What if the wolves that kidnapped her is in league with this evil entity?" Vlad asked.
"Finally, a good question!" Lilith applauded. Half joking.
"We don’t know, but we contacted the goddess recently and said her protector would be coming for her soon. We can only hope to find them and bring them back." Arya interjected. "She told us that and that Odette was to the east. In the snowy mountains."
