CHAPTER 112: GET OUT

~AMBROSE’S POV~

"What did you say? Say it a little louder so the rest of the room can hear." Alpha Andres grinned but posture said something different. It was a challenge.

"I’ll do you one better." She said rising from my seat at the table and strutted over to him. Moving with the grace of a goddess and the strength and confidence of a warrior. Her power felt heavy in the room, it could easily be mistaken for mine with how much weight it carried. It was strong the first time I felt it, but it seems to have gotten even stronger.

All eyes were on her as she strolled over to Alpha Andres. The way her hips swung instantly made my wolf jealous and start grumbling inside.

She leaned over his chair getting close to his face. Too close.

And smiled softly. Too softly.

I didn’t like it.

And neither did Onyx.

The closer she got, the more he paced.

Her lips hovered just above his.

I could smell his arousal; he was enjoying her defiance. Her attention.

"If words can wound you so easy, then with me, you’d be dead before the sun rose." And then she shoved his chair back, violently.

"Alright, brother, that’s enough trouble, let’s thank our host and turn in for the night." The tone Anderson’s voice had left no room for argument. His eyes flashed the same color at his brother.

Smart move, he was seconds away from his entrails being served up as desert.

The brothers’ wolves were battling for dominance in their own internal power struggle. One that didn’t relate to us, however definitely triggered by us.

I look over at Damon and he was nervous. As he should be.

He was worried I’d break the both of them for their disrespect.

The old me would have done it without a second thought. But Odette, she made me want to old back, show mercy.

Still my mercy has its limits, and Alpha Andres was dangerously close to meeting it.

Alpha Anderson’s wolf clearly won because he was the one who started speaking for both of them.

"I apologize for my brother’s bad manners, my king, he was dropped on his head as a baby by our mother, forgive his stupidity." Alpha Anderson grabbed him by the back of the neck and forced his brother to bow low with him.

"Get him out of my sight while I feel merciful" I growled. My rage was boiling and my control barely holding on. If I had to keep looking at him, I might kill him.

And by the looks of it, Alpha Anderson might not even mind.

My eyes connected with Odette. Jealousy and wounded pride held me hostage and kept me angry, not just at Andres, but at her.

I didn’t like her that close to any man, especially another alpha.

She was mine.

Isabella opened her big mouth again, "You have no manners, I can’t believe you let such a wild animal sit at the table with us.".

"Better to be a wild animal, than a wolf that acts like a domesticated dog." Odette sneered at her.

Isabella jumped up ready to storm across the room when Morrison spoke up. "Enough, dear, take your seat and act like the well-mannered lady I raised, hmm?"

I felt a tinge of disappointment.

I’d love to watch Odette tear further into that wicked spoiled brat.

She walked back over to her seat next to me.

"That was certainly entertaining." Damon joked trying to lighten the mood and lift the awkward silence that had started.

"Indeed. I wonder though, what could make a young girl have so much courage to stand up to an Alpha like that. And the display of your powerful aura, I don’t believe we’ve met." Morrison was calm, too calm. It pissed me off, nosey old bastard.

Before Odette could say anything, I said "She’s my guest, you have no reason to have met."

I didn’t like how he was asking the question and whatever the son of a bitch was insinuating.

"Forgive me, my king, I just wonder how you came across such a, marvelous specimen." His face remained solid, unmoved and detached.

"I’m a person, mister...?" She really just matched his tone.

Daring.

Brave. Onyx added.

"Morrison, General Morrison." He said flatly.

"Sure, general. I’m a person, not a specimen. I’m not some science experiment for you to hypothesis about." Spicy. Fiery. Dangerous.

Her eyes connected with mine.

She made me mad and at the same time she made me want to fuck her brains out on this table and scream my name.

"Pardon my rudeness, you are a most special guest of our Alpha King, how may I address you?" He wasn’t intrigued, he was interrogating.

Morrison, you’re toeing a fine line.

"Alpha, I have an update on the rogues from earlier today." That’s when Hector came walking in with.

Hector, noticing the discomfort in the room, kneeled on one knee lowering his head, to show respect. "Apologies my alpha, I didn’t know you had guests, I was focused on reading and when I asked the servants where you were, they told me here."

"Stand, bring me what you found." I gestured for him to bring the papers to me, anything to end this awful dinner sooner.

He couldn’t have come at a better time.

He walked the information over to me.

This is what I wanted. To know if it was the rogues behind it, or another pack. Or was it a coincidence?

Damon and I looked over the paperwork.

Instantly I frowned.

Fucking Alpha Micca.

"Dinner is dismissed." I looked at Genera Morrison and Isabelle, politely directing them to leave. General Morrison reluctantly stood up dragged his spoiled daughter with him.

Finally.

I looked sharply at Odette, "You are to go to the room and wait for me. I need to have a little chat with you about what happened tonight." I couldn’t hold the annoyance in my voice.

She glared at me her words sharper than spears "Excuse me?"

"Don’t test me right now, just go to the room." I stood from my seat and walked away. Leaving her to stew, just like me.
