CHAPTER 386: FALL OF AN ALPHA? [4]
Lillian breathed a sigh and thought for a moment. "There’s still some left... But as long as we keep up the assault, it’ll use up all of its eggs to heal."
Lillian pushed her hands out to the side and magically pulled out two separate blue potions before chucking them to the two ladies beside her.
Viesta and Millis glanced at the potion and quickly realised what they were. And without realisation, they watched as Lillian charged recklessly and boldly.
The three of them fought and wore down the Alpha. Whenever either Lillian or Millis was in need of saving, Viesta was there to pull them back.
However, whenever Viesta was in need of saving...
Lillian, who was distanced metres away from the charging Alpha, watched as the monster targeted the Cowgirl.
Lillian then watched as the Viesta twisted her body in her direction and threw her lasso at her.
The looped rope sped through the air and reached her location in seconds. Seeing this, Lillian’s eyes flashed with a brief moment of confusion, but then, she realised what Viesta had wanted her to do.
Grabbing onto the lasso, Lillian gave a strong tug. And using every ounce of her strength, she pulled Viesta out of the way—causing the Alpha to crash into the wall of its nursery.
However, that didn’t mean that either Lillian or Millis didn’t play a huge role.
Lillian, who was in charge of dealing the majority of the damage and "kiting" the Alpha, allowed both Viesta and Millis to dodge in the nick of time, while dealing their own portion of the damage.
But that wasn’t all.
Earlier, when Lillian found her attacks had splashed onto the monster, she devised an interesting idea.
By imbuing her water constructs with her Parasitic Element...
SPLASH.
... She had begun to decrease the quality and durability of the Alpha’s armour.
Using her experience in dealing with the explosive device from the Cult of Jester, she had come to the realisation that her ability could leech off concepts like durability and quality.
It wouldn’t essentially act like an acid. But over time... The Alpha’s armour would come to feel... Brittle.
Raising her scythe over her head, Lillian struck the Alpha’s shoulder and managed to sink it into its flesh and draw blood.
A large grin of joy spread across her lips as she raised her eyes. From the moment she had devised this strategy, she had begun to soak the Alpha in this parasitic liquid.
Albeit, it did take more mana than a regular attack would.
The Alpha shot Lillian a glance before doing a rapid spin. Then, with a raised claw, it swung at her with the intention of swatting her out of the air like a fly.
SWOOSH!
However, right before its claw made contact, a pillar of hardstone erupted from the ground and blocked its path of motion. And after it crumbled from the swing, Lillian was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, a large stone spear shot towards it.
CLANG!
The Alpha’s body tilted back as the force behind the spear slammed into the middle of its forehead, momentarily being able to pierce through its metal mask and make contact with its flesh.
Millis, who was in charge of shifting around the terrain and creating large constructs to support her group, played a crucial role as well—something that Lillian couldn’t help but internally mutter:
’As expected of the Heroine!’
And while the Alpha did regenerate all the damage done to it through the devouring of its eggs, with the strategy that the three had unconsciously concocted, the three fought uninjured.

On the surface, a group of both staff and non-staff members huddled around the surveillance station—watching the live recording transmitted by the remote-controlled drone.
Both the miners and mages that gathered looked in awe at the agility and strength of the ladies fighting the Alpha, and also the mastery behind their elements.
They also couldn’t fathom how much mana each of the ladies held individually—a few mages even theorised that they were far above average.
Some even theorised that all three of them were experienced mages who had managed to regain a large portion of their youth. But the question was... Who were these mages?
They didn’t remember anyone with these sorts of abilities.
But then, some began to recognise slowly over time. Didn’t the two of the three ladies fighting seem familiar? Weren’t their faces broadcast on a channel at some point?
While some continued to theorise, Zeke, who was in the middle of the huddle, looked towards one of the screens that displayed Brexten’s party making their way to the elevator.
Zeke’s right eye glazed over as he slowly remembered back to a long-ago past...
The moment he was first dropped off here in the Town of Blackridge.
**
[Zeke’s POV: 7 Years ago]
December 23rd 2027, I was around 25 at this time of year.
It was also just two days before the big holiday. The one everyone would expect to be surprised with both gifts and the warmth of others.
It was also... The holiday where one would hope the sky would pour down gentle snow over the world and bask in the cold as they waited for the approach of the new year.
However...
Such a joyous moment couldn’t be spared for someone like me...
BAM!
For that was the day I had been kicked out of Brexistence and not only that, but I was robbed of my belongings and stranded inside a dark alleyway with my back slumped up against the wall...
The Town of Blackridge was a notable town of blacksmiths and quality. It was also a place where, behind the plan of polishing up and repairing their gear, Brexten and the twins had already concluded to kick me out.
A dark plan hidden behind a simple one...
All because I couldn’t keep a grasp of my Flaw properly and ran away from our last battle to keep it under control...

He gave a mocking snort and muttered quietly, "Who’s the whimp now, strong guy?" Shaking his head, he moved through the people around him and exited the moshpit.
He didn’t need to watch any longer. From what he has seen from the synergy between the three, Zeke has already concluded that they would win—something he had struggled to believe a dozen minutes ago.
