CHAPTER 199: PRIVATE WORKSHOP

The doubt turned out to be unwarranted. The place that Kade had taken Felix to was indeed up to his liking.

It was a workshop. A pottery workshop. With a pottery wheel, a large supply of clay, all the tools he might need, and even a kiln. Everything of a very high quality, and clearly very new.

The workshop seemed to have been prepared especially for him. There was even a crib and a playpen with a variety of toys, so that Felix could work on pottery while also watching over Vivi at the same time.

Clearly a lot of thought had been put into it. It wasn’t something that could be put together in just a day or two... Well, perhaps with enough money, it could, but it seemed unlikely.

Which meant that Kade must have prepared it far in advance. Before Felix had called him the other day, when it was still unclear, if not straight-out unlikely, whether he would ever come to the Bloodmoon Pack. Was Kade so hopelessly optimistic, incredibly overconfident regarding his own charm, or simply planning ahead for ’what if’ scenario, since he had a ton of money to spare (waste)?

...Probably all of the above.

It left Felix with quite complicated feelings... But then again, at the end of the day, even if he never came, it’s not like this workshop would necessarily go to waste. It’d just be available for any of the Bloodmoon Pack members that might want to pick up pottery as a hobby in the future. So, he decided not to think too much about it, and just accept it for the time being.

"Thanks," he said, smiling at Kade. "I like it a lot."

Kade paused for a moment, surprised. Of course, he was hoping that Felix would like it... But it was rare for him to see the Omega so genuinely pleased with anything he received from Kade. It was in large part because a lot of Kade’s gifts were too expensive, and kind of thrust onto Felix against his will, but still.

"Well, that’s good then," he rubbed his neck, losing his usual flirtatious flow because of Felix’s smile. "You can come here whenever you want. Aside from you, only I and the cleaner have access to this place, so no one will disturb you here..."

"The cleaner?" Felix lifted his brows. "There’s no need for that. I can keep it tidy myself."

"Don’t worry about it. The cleaner I have arranged is a trusted person, the same one who’s responsible for our rooms..."

"That’s not the problem," Felix interrupted. "It’s not that I don’t trust your cleaners. It’s just that I don’t want to give them unnecessary extra work, when I can very well take care of it myself."

"But there’s no need for you to bother with daily chores," Kade argued back. "With your status in the pack, it is more appropriate for you to-"

Just then, the phone in Kade’s pocket started ringing, interrupting their stupid argument. Kade clicked his tongue with annoyance, and took it out to turn it off... When his eyes fell on the caller ID on the screen, though, his brows furrowed.

"One sec, I need to get this," he said, and walked a few steps away, picking up the phone.

Of course, walking away was more of a habit rather than to stop Felix from overhearing the conversation. Since they were still just a few steps away, with his sharp werewolf hearing, Felix could still vaguely hear what was being said on the other end of the line without even trying.

Kade was being summoned to his father’s office, as they had several important issues to discuss. Turns out he wasn’t all that idle, after all.

"...I’ll be there soon," Kade ended the call and turned back to Felix, with disappointment and dissatisfaction written all over his face. That’s not how this day was supposed to go...

Felix, on the other hand, wasn’t moved in the slightest. "Go. Don’t worry about me," he just said. "I’ll stay here for a while."

Although unwilling, Kade nodded his head. "Alright. But I don’t know how long it will take... Should I ask Fen or Cael to pick you up?"

"No need. I know the way."

"You sure about it?"

"Yes."

"Alright then..." Since that was what Felix wanted, there was no reason for Kade to insist. Felix wasn’t a prisoner in the Bloodmoon Pack, after all, he could walk around on his own if he chose to, there was no need for any supervision... They were within the Bloodmoon Pack’s pack house, there were no outsiders or sketchy individuals here, no one would possibly dare to hurt Felix or Vivi, so Kade had nothing to worry about. Besides...

"If you need anything, just text me. Even when I’m working, if it’s you, I can answer anytime!"

Felix stared at Kade in silence for a long while, before finally letting out a heavy sigh. "If I need anything, I’ll text Fen."

Kade put on a sulky face in response. "Why Fen? He might be even busier than me, you know?"

"Didn’t you say a moment ago that you can ask Fen to pick me up?" Felix pointed out, but Kade didn’t even falter before answering,

"I said Fen OR Cael. I don’t know which one of them might be available... And you don’t have Cael’s number yet, do you?"

Indeed, Felix didn’t. Of course, it could be easily solved by Kade giving him the number, or quickly contacting both of the men to confirm...

But Felix couldn’t be bothered to continue this pointless argument. He had a feeling that Kade would just come up with more excuses...

"Fine, I’ll contact you," he gave in. "If I need anything, that is."

"Great!" Kade smiled, flashing his white teeth, and finally excused himself out of the workshop, leaving Felix alone with Vivi and the pottery wheel. Felix put the pup in the playpen, checking all the toys to make sure that they were all safe to use. Which they naturally were - Kade wouldn’t allow anyone to give any dangerous toys to ’their’ pup! - although they still couldn’t compare to the enchanted toys from Remi...

Felix shook his head energetically, trying to chase the fox away from his head, and stood up. He needed to stop thinking about him all the time...

He put on an apron and rolled up his sleeves, taking a seat by the wheel. It would do him good to just relax a bit and clear his head... He grabbed some clay and pressed on the pedal, his hands moving slowly, as he started shaping the mass...

Soon, all of his thoughts had drifted away, and all that remained was the spinning wheel and the clay in front of him. It wasn’t until Vivi started making a racket, demanding to be fed again, that he snapped out of his trance... Which, although hadn’t lasted very long, helped him calm down all of his feelings and emotions.

This workshop Kade had prepared was truly an amazing gift. Perhaps Felix should think of a way to repay him for it... As well as all the other things the Alpha had done for him. After all, no matter how reluctant Felix was about accepting his favors, he had still undeniably benefited a lot from Kade’s... fondness of him, if you could call it that way.
