Immortal Creed
Chapter 212: Preparing to Evacuate
"What's wrong, Mr. Heier?"
Noticing a slight change in Liens's expression, Benjamin quickly asked, thinking he had said something wrong.
"Nothing, it has nothing to do with what President Benjamin just said. I just suddenly remembered some unpleasant things."
Sensing Benjamin's tension and knowing he had misunderstood, Liens immediately smiled and explained.
In the Instance before Elsa woke him up, he had a major battle with the reactionary forces.
Through this battle, he also learned the reason why the reactionary forces could contend with the Earl of Glennbergen: it was none other than the nearly fifty Divine Envoys.
More precisely, it was the power accumulated from the divine power within their bodies.
Upon sensing his rising killing intent, the will hidden within the divine power immediately mobilized the divine power of other Divine Envoys and infused it into its main body.
As the divine power within the main body grew immense, that will also strengthened, no longer as weak as it was initially.
What surprised him, however, was that in the end, it wasn't the God of Absolute Fairness who controlled the aggregated divine power, but it was still the original entity that controlled this power and fought him.
Although he had made some progress over the past six months, he was not a genius, and he probably hadn't fully focused on Sword Tendency, so his technique remained at the lower level.
With this level of technique, even if the divine power he controlled was strong enough, for Liens, who was about to truly step into the Grandmaster Realm, it was only a bit troublesome, not a true opponent, let alone comparable to Earl Bard.
Even though it would have been better for him to act personally, he still chose to watch silently from the side, which Liens found truly incomprehensible.
He didn't know if he would act if he was about to kill him.
This doubt remained unanswered until he was woken up by Elsa, because the entity controlling the aggregated divine power was too tough, a bit un-cuttable.
"Let's not talk about this… Didn't President Benjamin say he wanted to eat? I also happen to want to properly taste the cooking of the Adventurers' Association chef."
Liens smiled faintly, changing the subject.
"This might disappoint Mr. Heier."
"Currently, the association only has meat stew as food, but the ingredients are monster meat paired with some fresh wild vegetables, which is also good."
"Before the war broke out, it was a luxury for ordinary families to eat such meat stew every day, but now we only have this to fill our stomachs."
Benjamin sighed with emotion.
"President Benjamin, Mr. Heier, didn't you say you wanted to eat? Why are you still chattering on?"
"Isn't it better to talk about things after eating?"
Seeing that the two's conversation had the potential to continue, Elsa quickly interrupted.
Hearing this, Benjamin laughed heartily: "Haha, Miss Elsa is right, what can't wait until after dinner to talk about… Let's go, Mr. Heier, Miss Elsa."
Dinner time passed quickly, and nothing special happened during it.
The chef of the Adventurers' Association was quite good. Although the ingredients were only some monster meat and wild vegetables, the taste of the meat stew was truly excellent.
The gamey smell was very faint, the soup's flavor was just right, neither too salty nor too bland, and the evenly cut meat pieces were stewed until tender and flavorful, neither tough nor fishy.
In short, Liens felt that this meal was quite good, at least countless times better than his homemade dried monster meat.
During the meal, he also got to know the other Extraordinary Ones of the Adventurers' Association. Including Benjamin and Elsa, there were a total of four men and one woman.
Among them, one person was not an Adventurers' Association staff member; like Elsa, he chose to stand with the Adventurers' Association to help the suffering civilians.
After dinner, the six of them, including Liens, discussed the detailed evacuation plan in the office where Elsa had previously handled official business.
During this time, Liens mainly listened to Benjamin and the others explain the plan's content, at most offering some suggestions based on the information he had learned from the Instance .
After all, Benjamin and the others had held similar meetings many times before Liens arrived.
They had already discussed the general plan, and even arranged corresponding training, but they simply didn't have enough power to execute it.
…
Inner City, Glenbagen Family.
"Earl, it has been confirmed that the Adventurers' Association has invited an external helper."
"That person did not deliberately hide his movements. The guards at the city gate in the morning and our hidden guards placed in the Adventurers' Association all saw his appearance."
"According to their description, that person is a very handsome young man, very fast, almost instantly crossing the city wall, and carrying a long sword."
"However, due to the limited eyesight of the intelligence personnel, they could not discern what profession that Extraordinary One was."
"It is speculated that he might be a Mage, or a Wind Knight."
Leinajin reported the situation earnestly to Earl Bard, who was half-reclined on the bed.
"Appearance does not fully represent age; too many magic and alchemy items can achieve youthful looks."
"We'll see the Adventurers' Association's actions later… If it's just a first-tier Extraordinary One, then they shouldn't make any changes."
"It's also possible that person is just an advance party. If the Adventurers' Association has requested aid from their superiors, they shouldn't just request aid for a single first-tier Extraordinary One."
"That much strength, let alone the interception by the two factions within the city, they can't even safely lead people across the current wilderness… Benjamin is not such a reckless person."
"But if… when they plan to evacuate, I will personally go and see."
Earl Bard said calmly.
"Earl, if that person is truly a second-tier Extraordinary One, will it affect the current situation in Kara City? Do we have any hope of winning him over?"
"The Kingdom Army and the reactionaries are currently in fierce combat, and several major cities have been occupied by the reactionaries."
"Furthermore, some cities have also taken this opportunity to rebel. Should our Glenbagen Family completely occupy Kara City?"
"By then, the Glenbagen Family might…"
"Do not bring this up again!"
Earl Bard sternly interrupted Leinajin's impending words.
He knew what Leinajin wanted to say, and he also understood that this was an opportunity for the Glenbagen Family to advance further.
The reason he interrupted Leinajin was not because of his loyalty to the royal family, but because he understood the royal family's mystery, and the strength of the Kingdom Sword Saint, better than many others.
The entire Glenbagen Family was almost vulnerable before the Kingdom Sword Saint.
He even suspected that the Kingdom Sword Saint was secretly planning something, otherwise, the reactionary forces' strength would never have been able to withstand the army led by the Kingdom Sword Saint.
"I understand."
Seeing Earl Bard so serious, Leinajin also nodded in solemn response.
"You may leave, I need to rest."
"Your subordinate…"
"Thump, thump, thump!"
Just as Leinajin was about to excuse himself, he heard a knock on the door, then looked at Earl Bard, silently asking for his thoughts.
"Let them in, it must be something important."
Hearing this, Leinajin immediately opened the door and let the person outside walk in.
"What is it?"
Earl Bard asked Cliff, who had entered the room.
"The Adventurers' Association announced they will evacuate from Kara City tomorrow."
Cliff said seriously.
Hearing this, Leinajin showed a shocked expression, as he remembered what Earl Bard had just said.
"Is that so… It seems that person might be a bit extraordinary."
