Immortal Creed
Chapter 70: Newbie Mission
After everyone had gathered, Jonathan confirmed with Liens and the others if they had all received their missions.
Receiving an affirmative reply, Jonathan led the group out of the Mission Hall.
Afterward, he introduced the newcomers, including Liens, to the locations of the cafeteria, bathhouse, and accommodations, as well as some Precautions.
For example, certain places were off-limits, and they shouldn't wander around at night.
"Alright, that's basically it. My mission is complete."
"Next, you can go eat and rest for a bit, then prepare to complete your first mission."
After Jonathan finished speaking, he turned and left.
His direction of departure was towards the Mission Hall, indicating he was going there to submit his own mission.
Night.
Liens changed into the black clothing issued by the Glenbagen Family, held a longsword, and arrived alone at a corner of the Mission Hall.
At this time, a figure was already standing there.
"What a coincidence! I didn't expect my supervisor to be you, Senior Jonathan."
Liens looked at Jonathan with a hint of surprise, greeting him with a smile.
Since it was a novice mission, the Glenbagen Family naturally wouldn't let these newcomers handle it alone.
Newcomers lacked experience. What if they failed to complete the mission due to a low-level error like not finding the way or targeting the wrong person?
Therefore, arranging someone to guide them and familiarize them with the process was the normal approach.
And the so-called supervisor was the person who helped and oversaw these newcomers in completing their missions.
This was explained on the mission sheet, but Liens hadn't expected his supervisor to coincidentally be Jonathan.
"Just call me Jonathan. There's no need for 'senior'; I just have a bit more experience than you."
"Since you're here, let's quickly start executing the mission."
"The sooner we finish, the sooner both of us can return and sleep."
Jonathan replied indifferently, clearly not wanting to engage with Liens' enthusiasm.
"Understood, sir."
Liens nodded seriously.
Seeing Jonathan's attitude, he knew this person didn't want to engage in much conversation with him, so he simply dropped the fake smile on his face.
"Did you read the mission sheet clearly? Briefly state the mission requirements."
Jonathan demanded of Liens.
"Mission target: Frank, male, an ordinary soldier in Kara City."
"Mission location: Outer City, Military Fortress, Soldier Dormitory, Dormitory Number 0304."
"Mission requirement: Death."
"Mission time limit: Must be completed tonight."
Liens replied earnestly.
"Hmm, very good. Excellent summary. I hope your strength is just as good."
Jonathan nodded in satisfaction, clearly pleased with Liens' concise explanation.
"I have a question: how do I get into that Military Fortress?"
"I used to hear that the guards there are very strict, and ordinary people aren't even allowed to get close."
Liens posed his question to Jonathan.
If there's something you don't understand, you should ask it first; otherwise, when the plan is executed, that lack of understanding might lead to even greater errors.
In his memory, "he" had heard of that Military Fortress built in the Outer City.
It occupied a large area, and some surrounding regions were military strongholds, not allowing civilians to enter.
Rumor had it that it was Kara City's most important military force, the foundation for Kara City to resist external enemies and monsters.
Whether this rumor was true, Liens didn't know, but he could be sure that the security there should be very strict, and there would definitely be patrols at night.
Although with his current strength, it wasn't impossible for him to Adventure stealthily by his own means.
But if there was a safer way, he would naturally prefer to be cautious.
Sacrificing his Life for the Glenbagen Family was something he'd only shout slogans about; he wouldn't be foolish enough to actually do it.
"You don't need to worry about that. With the family's status, no guard will stop you if you walk in wearing that black uniform."
"Even if someone does stop you, just show him the wooden token."
"If he still doesn't let you pass, then kill him. The family will ensure you're fine."
Jonathan explained to Liens.
"If you're still a bit worried, let me tell you one more thing."
"Do you know the surname of the general of Kara City's garrison?"
"That's right, it's Glenbagen."
Jonathan's tone carried a hint of pride at this moment.
"Hmm, I have no more questions."
Liens' face showed a look of sudden realization as he nodded to Jonathan, indicating that he understood.
There was nothing left to worry about.
This mission was indeed as Jonathan had said earlier: not dangerous at all.
After all, given the social security environment of this city, wouldn't it be a very simple matter for the general's family to kill an ordinary soldier?
Unless that soldier was some novel protagonist.
Otherwise, with the power of the Glenbagen Family, there was no way they would fail.
Moreover, Liens didn't believe he couldn't even kill an ordinary soldier.
That would be a bit of a disservice to his nearly 5 months of effort.
And even more of a disservice to those sword-testing targets he had killed over and over again in the Instance .
"I wonder how that unlucky soldier offended the Glenbagen Family?"
"If it weren't for this mission, would he have been dealt with long ago?"
Liens thought to himself.
"Let's go."
Jonathan said.
Then, Liens followed Jonathan out of the Mission Hall and headed towards the Outer City.
After some time, Liens and the others finally arrived at the Military Fortress in the Outer City.
"Let me confirm one last time, there shouldn't be any problem if we just walk straight in, right?"
Liens looked at the massive fortress in the distance and cautiously inquired again with Jonathan beside him.
If he couldn't use the Instance at this moment, he would have wanted to complete it once in the Instance first, and then reproduce the process in reality. Love this story? Show support at *.
"Although no one would dare to stop you if you swaggered in, it's still better if you subtly stealth and disguise yourself a bit."
"That way, they can pretend not to see you, and everyone saves face, and it just passes like that."
Jonathan thought for a moment before answering Liens.
"Hmm, understood... Wait, aren't you coming in with me?"
Liens was about to nod, then seemed to think of something and looked at Jonathan in confusion.
"I'll just wait for you outside; there's no need for me to go in. I believe you can definitely deal with the target."
"Oh, and remember to cut off the mission target's head. That counts as proof."
Jonathan replied indifferently.
"Aren't you the supervisor? Shouldn't you be supervising me to complete the mission?"
Liens' face showed a hint of dissatisfaction.
He didn't actually care if someone was supervising him; in fact, having no one watching him was better for him.
But for this kind of slacking behavior, he still felt he needed to express a slight condemnation.
"Need supervision? It's just killing someone; what's there to supervise?"
"You even killed the monsters in the assessment; are you afraid of an ordinary soldier?"
"Go for it, I have faith in you."
"Go."
Regarding Liens' condemnation, Jonathan remained calm, showing no signs of embarrassment, clearly having mastered the art of slacking to the bone.
