Immortal God of War
Chapter 43 Royal Wanted_1
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43 ROYAL WANTED_1
Black Bear City had four city gates, and a wanted poster was displayed at each. Anyone who passed by would cast a curious glance.
"Ten thousand Gold Coins!"
Who exactly is this Qin Feiyang? Is he really worth this much?
This became the most discussed topic in Black Bear City.
As the sun began to set, Qin Feiyang finally emerged from the jungle. He walked alone along a flat avenue leading towards the North City gate. The Wolf King obviously couldn’t enter the city, so Qin Feiyang had instructed it to hide temporarily in the ancient castle.
While walking along the avenue, Qin Feiyang initially felt nothing amiss. But gradually, he realized something was off. The pedestrians he encountered eyed him strangely and began to follow him. Something seems wrong! More and more people gathered, yet not a single one uttered a word. They all stared at him as if he were a delicious piece of cake.
Qin Feiyang couldn’t help but frown. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks! The crowd following him also halted in unison. Some even placed their hands on the weapons at their waists; a tense atmosphere rapidly spread.
Qin Feiyang raised his eyebrows but said nothing, continuing towards the North City gate. The crowd behind him slowly followed, maintaining a certain distance.
Soon, Qin Feiyang arrived at the city gate. Upon seeing him, the faces of the guards stationed there became extremely cautious.
What in the world is going on? Qin Feiyang was utterly puzzled.
He was about to enter the city when his gaze was caught by a wanted poster beside him. On it was a portrait. Isn’t that me? Below the portrait were several large characters: "This man, Qin Feiyang, is a ruthless murderer, beyond redemption. Anyone who presents his head will be rewarded with ten thousand Gold Coins!" Beside it was a large, red seal: The Yan King of Yan Province!
For Qin Feiyang, this was a bolt from the blue.
He was actually wanted! Moreover, the warrant had been personally issued by the ruler of Yan Province, the Yan King! All his earlier confusion instantly cleared. No wonder Mu Fei knew my name. No wonder these people were acting so strangely. Now, he was practically a walking pile of gleaming Gold Coins; anyone who saw him would be consumed by greed.
Yan King... He clenched his fists, his eyes turning cold as he stared intently at the seal. It has to be Lin Han! After returning to the Imperial Capital, he must have persuaded the Yan King to issue this wanted notice. The Royal Family, issuing a wanted notice without even investigating the facts—how utterly absurd and laughable! Such a contemptible Royal Family deserves to be eradicated. But for now, he lacked the power to do so.
The most urgent task now was to escape. Sweeping his gaze over the crowd, Qin Feiyang said coolly, "Why the hesitation? Lacking confidence?"
The crowd remained silent. In truth, they did lack confidence. Although this young man appeared youthful, being wanted by the Royal Family was enough to prove his strength was far from ordinary. Thus, no one wanted to be the first to make a move.
Qin Feiyang smirked and suddenly spun around. Startled, the crowd behind him retreated a few steps.
CLANG, CLANG!
Simultaneously, they drew their swords, their sharp edges glinting.
"Don’t let him get away!" one of the guards yelled. "There are so many of us! If everyone just spat on him, we could drown him! Don’t be afraid!" they urged, seeing Qin Feiyang preparing to flee.
"I’d like to see who dares block my path today!" Qin Feiyang sneered, striding forward. The crowd continued to retreat; not a single person dared to attack.
"What are you still hesitating for? Attack him with me!" seeing this, one guard roared, raised the broadsword in his hand, and slashed at Qin Feiyang’s back. The other guards also charged forward.
"Hmph!" Qin Feiyang snorted coldly, then spun around abruptly. Blue Snow flashed!
CLANG!
Several broadswords shattered on impact. Qin Feiyang then delivered a few lightning-fast punches.
AHH!!!
The guards cried out in agony as they were sent flying like meteors, crashing into the city wall behind them. Each of them spat blood, their faces ashen.
He’s so strong! Observing this, the surrounding crowd was terrified. Those guards were all one-star martial masters! Yet, before this young man, they hadn’t even a shred of ability to retaliate.
"His head is worth ten thousand Gold Coins! What are you still waiting for?" two of the guards, scrambling to their feet, yelled. "Let’s kill him together and split the ten thousand Gold Coins!"
"Kill!"
People die for riches, just as birds die for food. Lured by the Gold Coins, the surrounding crowd finally brandished their weapons at Qin Feiyang.
Qin Feiyang’s eyes turned cold. With Blue Snow in hand, he resembled a humanoid dragon, blood splattering into the air wherever he passed. In less than three breaths, he tore open a gap in the encirclement and broke free. More than ten people lay on the ground, wailing in agony.
"Don’t let him escape!" The remaining crowd surged towards Qin Feiyang once more.
"I advise you all to understand your own limitations," Qin Feiyang stated indifferently. Then, employing Smoke Step, he disappeared into the nearby jungle without a backward glance.
"Search!" The crowd also surged into the forest.
"What happened?"
Just then, a burly, middle-aged man emerged from Black Bear City, looking quizzically at the few guards.
"Captain, Qin Feiyang appeared!" one guard reported hurriedly.
"He fled into that forest."
"Everyone went to pursue him!"
"Qin Feiyang!" The middle-aged man’s eyes glinted with a sharp, cold light. "You lot, stay here and guard! Don’t let any suspicious individuals pass!" he ordered.
"Yes, sir!" the guards responded respectfully. The middle-aged man then sprinted wildly towards the jungle.
However, their pursuit was destined to be fruitless, for after Qin Feiyang entered the forest, he had immediately taken refuge in the ancient castle.
There’s a wanted poster for me in Black Bear City, so other cities in Yan Province will surely have them too. It seems I won’t be able to move freely around here anymore, Qin Feiyang thought, his expression grim as he stood beside the Wolf King.
"AWOO!" The Wolf King let out a low growl, as if asking what they should do next. If they couldn’t enter cities, the medicinal herbs they had plundered would be useless.
"Don’t worry, there must be a way," Qin Feiyang said comfortingly. He then mumbled to himself, If only I had a Shape-shifting Pill. A Shape-shifting Pill could alter one’s appearance. But out here in this desolate wilderness, where could he possibly find one?
"You stay here; I’ll go out and check the situation," Qin Feiyang instructed the Wolf King before leaving the ancient castle and reappearing in the forest. He then moved stealthily, reaching the edge of the jungle, and looked towards the city gate.
A large crowd was rushing out from the city, their target clearly the forest he was in. It seems news of my appearance has already spread throughout Black Bear City, Qin Feiyang mused. He was about to turn and leave.
But suddenly, among the crowd pouring out from the city, he spotted two familiar figures. Why are they in Black Bear City? Qin Feiyang muttered to himself. It was Lo Qingzhu and Zhao Shuang’er!
Just then, a middle-aged man dressed in black leaped out from the city, landing atop the wall. Golden Battle Intent radiated from him, making him an exceptionally dazzling sight as he stood there.
A War King! Qin Feiyang’s pupils contracted.
Simultaneously, Lo Qingzhu and Zhao Shuang’er, standing below the city wall, also frowned as they looked up at the man. The middle-aged man surveyed the forest before him like a sovereign, his piercing gaze intimidating.
Suddenly, the man spotted Qin Feiyang at the edge of the forest! An overwhelming murderous intent instantly filled his eyes. "You little bastard, you finally show yourself!" he sneered, then leaped directly from the city wall, his feet barely skimming the ground as he shot towards Qin Feiyang.
So, there’s even a War King. You people truly overestimate me, Qin Feiyang sneered internally, then turned and entered the forest without a second glance.
Everyone near the city gate looked in the direction Qin Feiyang’s retreating figure had vanished. Suddenly, as if galvanized, they all rushed into the forest.
"It’s really him!" Lo Qingzhu and Zhao Shuang’er exchanged a glance, their pretty brows furrowing deeper. "He’s far too audacious!"
Zhao Shuang’er asked in a low voice, "Qingzhu, should we help him?"
This... Lo Qingzhu hesitated. Helping Qin Feiyang meant opposing the Lin family of Yan City. No, not just them—there was also the Royal Family to consider now. If they were discovered, the consequences would be unimaginable. Although the Lin family and the Royal Family wouldn’t dare to kill her openly, they could resort to assassination in secret, which would be incredibly difficult to guard against.
However, before she left home, her mother had privately instructed her that if she ever encountered Qin Feiyang, she should help him if she could.
Let’s help him one more time, but we absolutely cannot let anyone from the Lin family find out, Lo Qingzhu decided, speaking softly to Zhao Shuang’er.
Zhao Shuang’er nodded.
The two of them also entered the forest. Both were exceptional in temperament and appearance; they would be a striking sight wherever they went. But at that moment, no one paid them any mind. Everyone was focused on searching for Qin Feiyang. Lo Qingzhu and Zhao Shuang’er were searching as well.
However, despite searching an area of several hundred meters, they couldn’t find any trace of Qin Feiyang. Moreover, there was no news from other search parties. It was as if Qin Feiyang had vanished into thin air.
Lo Qingzhu and Zhao Shuang’er returned to the edge of the forest. The area was now deserted and completely quiet. Everyone assumed Qin Feiyang had fled deeper into the woods, so they had all gone further in to search.
The two young women stood by a towering tree, scanning the forest ahead, their brows tightly knit. With so many people, including a War King, combing the forest, even a fly should have been found by now. Where on earth is that fellow hiding?
Night descended, and the forest was plunged into darkness. Yet, no one left. Lighting torches, they continued to search everywhere, determined not to give up until he was found.
Lo Qingzhu said, "He has likely escaped deep into the mountains. Let’s return to the city for now and come back to look tomorrow at dawn."
Zhao Shuang’er nodded.
"Were you two lovely ladies looking for me?"
Just as they turned to leave, a soft, laughing voice drifted down from the leaves above. Startled, the two looked up. They immediately saw a dark figure part the branches and jump down, landing steadily on the ground. Who else could it be but Qin Feiyang?
"You were hiding up there this whole time?" Lo Qingzhu and Zhao Shuang’er stared at him in disbelief.
Qin Feiyang smiled. "If I had been hiding up there the entire time, I would have been discovered long ago."
Initially, he had hidden in the ancient castle. Once the sounds of footsteps died down, he slipped out and concealed himself in the large tree nearby, hoping for a chance to enter the city. Unexpectedly, he had instead encountered these two young women.
