Impossible to Resist: Mr. CEO Falling In Love
Chapter 41: Drunk
CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: DRUNK
Zhuang Xiaoxi didn’t stay long and left, making the apartment feel a bit lonely.
Recalling what Xiaoxi said to her earlier, Su Lingzhi hesitated with her phone for a while, then walked to the balcony to dial Fu Yinli’s number.
But, there was no answer.
At this time, he was probably busy.
Su Lingzhi put down the phone without disturbing him.
The sunlight outside was pale, and the wind carried warmth mixed with a bit of restlessness.
Feeling stifled, Su Lingzhi returned inside, packing her things to go home. By six in the afternoon, she finally received Fu Yinli’s call back.
But she didn’t see him until eleven at night.
He came back drunk, supported by someone to the door, and as soon as he saw her, he fell onto her.
"Miss Su, I’m leaving President Fu to you."
Before Su Lingzhi could even see the person’s face clearly, they had left in a hurry.
"Zhizhi." Fu Yinli’s weight pressed on her, his mouth continuously murmuring her name.
Su Lingzhi wrapped her arms around his waist and led him inside, subconsciously softening her tone, "Why did you drink so much?"
As soon as the door closed, he pressed her against the wall and kissed her fiercely.
Su Lingzhi was kissed until she almost couldn’t breathe and pinched his waist, but he didn’t feel it at all.
Only after he was satisfied did Fu Yinli let her go, looking at her with eyes full of intoxicating desire.
He rested his forehead against hers, chuckling softly, "Zhizhi, the project succeeded, you’re truly my lucky star."
"I didn’t even help you with anything."
"Who says that? Everything you’ve given me is blessed, and I wear them all." As he spoke, he tugged at his tie, "Even this tie is from you."
Su Lingzhi couldn’t help but laugh, "You really believe that."
"From now on, you’re not allowed to give gifts to any man but me."
His cheeks were flushed from drinking, his voice weak and lacking that solemn elegance of usual, with absolutely no presence.
Who knows if he will remember these immature and embarrassing words when he wakes up tomorrow.
"Why aren’t you speaking? You’re only allowed to give gifts to me."
Seeing him speaking incoherently, Su Lingzhi held his waist and coaxed him, "I promise you."
With that, Fu Yinli leaned down and demanded a kiss.
While kissing, he accurately found the direction to the bedroom, pressing her onto the bed.
A gust of wind lifted the white curtains, the soft gauze gently swaying.
Fu Yinli brushed aside the hair on her face, gazing deeply into her lively eyes, speaking with emotion, "You’re beautiful."
Su Lingzhi’s eyes flickered, her heart pounding.
Then, the kiss came.
So tender it was hard for Su Lingzhi to tell if he was drunk or awake.
Fu Yinli looked down at the person beneath him, grabbing her hand, leading it to his collar, "Help me undress."
Su Lingzhi pursed her lips, still moist from the kiss, and flipped him over onto the bed, gently coaxing, "It’s late, it’s time to sleep."
After speaking, she got up from the bed and ran to make some hangover tea.
However, in just the time it took to turn around, Fu Yinli had already fallen asleep on the bed.
Helpless, Su Lingzhi looked at him, placing the hangover tea aside, helping him take off his shoes, and gently covering him with a blanket.
Afterwards, she got a warm towel and wiped him down a bit.
Once everything was taken care of, Su Lingzhi laid down with her back to him.
As if she had touched something sacred, Fu Yinli edged over to her side.
Being enveloped in his alcohol-laden scent was undoubtedly uncomfortable.
She endured it, feeling sleepiness wash over her.
In the middle of the night, she faintly heard him get up.
Semi-conscious, Su Lingzhi did not open her eyes and went back to sleep.
She didn’t know how much time passed before the side of the bed sank again, bringing with it a fresh and pleasant scent of shower gel.
...
The next day.
When Su Lingzhi woke up, she instinctively reached to the other side, finding it already empty.
Without thinking much, she got out of bed to wash up, then sat on the sofa, dialing Fu Yinli’s number, "Why didn’t you wake me before you left?"
"It’s still early."
"But I have a flight at noon, twelve o’clock. Aren’t you going to see me off?"
On the other end, Fu Yinli replied, "The housekeeper will take you."
"But..." Su Lingzhi hesitated, originally wanting to tell him everything in person, but it was clear she didn’t have that chance now, she still failed to speak out, "You go ahead and take care of your work."
After hanging up, Su Lingzhi had a simple breakfast, tidied up the apartment a little, and left with her luggage.
...
Upon reaching the airport, just as she was considering whether to call Fu Yinli to check in, his call came in on the phone screen.
When she answered, his deep voice came through the line, "Have you reached the airport?"
"Just arrived."
Housekeeper Zhao had brought her here and even upgraded her business class ticket to first class.
She knew these were all his arrangements.
On the other end of the phone, Fu Yinli said, "Once you arrive in Beijing, someone will be there to pick you up, just follow the flight attendants out of the airport."
"There’s no need, my family arranged for someone to pick me up. Are you really not coming to see me off?"
"I’m tied up here."
Su Lingzhi’s eyes fell dim, "Alright, I’ll call you once I get home."
"Mm."
After the call, Su Lingzhi looked at Housekeeper Zhao waiting on the side and said, "Uncle Zhao, you can go back. I can manage on my own."
"Sir instructed that I leave only after the plane has taken off."
"He’s meticulous with the arrangements but doesn’t come to see me off himself."
He left so early in the morning without waking her, without even a face-to-face farewell...
Su Lingzhi murmured a low complaint, turning to look out the window. For some reason, she felt uneasy, stifled, like she couldn’t catch her breath.
After waiting in the waiting area for about twenty minutes, Su Lingzhi bid farewell to Housekeeper Zhao and prepared to board the plane.
Even though she knew Fu Yinli wouldn’t come to see her off, she still hoped to see him one last time, but it ultimately didn’t happen.
...
Ten hours later, the plane landed.
At this moment, it was seven thirty in the morning Beijing time, with sunlight already illuminating the whole city.
Carrying her luggage, Su Lingzhi walked out from the special passage at Jingbei Airport.
The family driver approached, calling out to her, "Miss."
"Uncle Liu, is everything at home well?"
Uncle Liu’s face showed a flicker of a strange expression, then he took her suitcase from her hand respectfully, "Sir and Madam are doing very well."
However, glancing to the side, Su Lingzhi noticed another person watching her, and her gaze fixed.
The man was wearing a dark brown shirt, standing leisurely to the side watching her, saying nothing.
Uncle Liu quickly introduced, "This is Mr. Jiang."
Su Lingzhi restrained her gaze from him, speaking calmly, "I’ve met him already, let’s head home first."
With two cars available, Su Lingzhi decisively got into the private car.
Jiang Chenglin was prepared for her indifference.
But no matter what, as long as she returned, it was enough.
He withdrew his gaze, after a moment’s silence, and got into his own car.
