In Another World, Everyone Want to Kill Me!
Chapter 97: Hats, Masks, and Hungry Stomachs
CHAPTER 97: HATS, MASKS, AND HUNGRY STOMACHS
Yue Mingxuan mumbled with food in his mouth, "I know, I know. Hurry up and eat, we’re going to look at shops today."
Hearing his command, Sui He carried her own food to a small table nearby and began eating too.
The master and servant finished their food quickly and changed their clothes.
But then Yue Mingxuan stood in front of the mirror, feeling shy and uncomfortable.
For the past two days, he had worn a mask when meeting people and he had gotten used to the feeling of having nothing touching his skin.
Now that he had to paint his face again just like a clown, he felt unhappy.
Sui He seemed to understand his thoughts.
She handed him an ordinary hat with a thin layer of black gauze in front. "Your Highness, wear this when you go out."
As she spoke, Sui He also put on one for herself.
Yue Mingxuan looked at the thin gauze on the hat and, after thinking for a moment, he still put the mask on his face as well.
With the waist token, they left the palace smoothly.
Yue Mingxuan pulled Sui He straight toward the busiest part of the capital city.
But after asking at several nice shops, all of them were either too expensive or required a deposit far too high.
When Yue Mingxuan walked out of the fifth shop, his face was already as dark as the bottom of a pot.
It was all thatperverted men ’s fault.
If he had not tricked him out of his gold, Yue Mingxuan could have paid all these fees easily.
Seeing that the sun was already high in the sky, Yue Mingxuan decided they should first find a place to satisfy their hungry stomachs.
"Sui He, do you know where the most famous restaurant in the city is?"
Sui He tilted her head and thought. "I think it’s Longjing Manor."
"Then lead the way. We’re going to Longjing Manor."
Yue Mingxuan patted his money pouch.
Eating a simple meal should still be affordable.
Because Yue Mingxuan and Sui He had been wandering around the busy areas of the imperial city, they crossed only one street before easily finding Longjing Manor.
Damn it, there’s so many people!
Even though Yue Mingxuan had prepared himself mentally, he was still shocked by the long line stretching in front of the door.
When he looking at the crowd, Yue Mingxuan estimated that even if he waited until the afternoon, he still might not be able to eat lunch here.
He pulled on Sui He helplessly, "Forget it. Let’s go somewhere else and eat anything we can find."
Just as the two of them turned around, Sui He accidentally bumped into someone.
Her hat slipped off from the impact and revealing her damaged and rotting face.
Before they could see whom she had bumped into, they heard a loud and unpleasant duck-like voice.
"Tsk tsk, running into a ghost the moment I step out. Such bad luck. I’m not going to the Longjing Manor anymore. I’ll go to Xianheng Inn instead."
Right as he finished speaking, a few servants came over and pushed Sui He aside.
If Yue Mingxuan had not stepped forward quickly to catch her, she would have fallen to the ground.
Yue Mingxuan lifted his head angrily.
Standing in front of them was a fat man with a greasy face and belly hanging over his belt.
Yue Mingxuan picked up the hat from the ground and put it back on Sui He’s head. He could feel her body trembled slightly.
Yue Mingxuan knew that the fat man’s words had hurt her pride again.
He thought of how hard he had worked to comfort Sui He and now all his efforts were ruined by this disgusting man.
Yue Mingxuan’s anger surged. "I’ve only heard that good dogs don’t block the way. When did pigs learn to walk on the street?"
Even a stupid man would understand that Yue Mingxuan was mocking him.
The fat man’s face shook with rage, all the fat on it trembling. "Catch that foul mouthed boy and that ugly freak! I’ll butcher them and feed them to my warhorse!"
Following the rule of a wise man avoids trouble when he can, Yue Mingxuan immediately grabbed Sui He and tried to run.
But several strong servants blocked their path.
This was bad.
Yue Mingxuan regretted not bringing helpers.
If he died out here for no reason, it would be far too unfair.
One of the servants noticed Yue Mingxuan’s slim waist and graceful figure and reached out to pull off his hat.
Yue Mingxuan stepped back and shouted angrily, "You dare?"
The servant sneered. "You offended our young master. You’re already as good as dead. What wouldn’t I dare?"
Yue Mingxuan watched the servant come closer.
He knew the little fighting skills he learned in the army were not enough to handle four or five strong men.
He had no idea what to do.
At this moment, a young man dressed in white clothes stepped out from the crowd.
His appearance was clean and delicate.
"In broad daylight, under the sky of Beirong, someone dares to pretend to be from the royal family and assault people in the street."
Seeing someone stand up like a hero, Yue Mingxuan immediately pulled Sui He behind the young man.
In stories, anyone who dared to help others like this usually had real skills.
Following him should be safe.
Seeing someone meddle their business, the servants turned around and sneered.
"Well, look at that. Which brothel did this little pretty boy crawl out of?"
"If you make us happy for a while, we won’t punish you for interfering."
Their filthy and disgusting words filled the air.
Yue Mingxuan’s face darkened.
He secretly glanced at the young man in white clothes and his face had turned completely red, even his ears glowing like pink crystals.
When Yue Mingxuan looked closely, he noticed tiny earring holes on the young man’s ears.
