CHAPTER 305: AFTER THE BATTLE

His bones were crushed and his organs had been collapsed.

It was a miracle he was still alive at all.

His body was cold and his heart felt as if it could stop beating at any moment.

But even so, Shiao Yi’s enhanced and modified body was enduring it.

There was still life inside him.

It’s weak and fragile, but still there.

He had not died yet.

Dominic’s healing had already begun on its own.

It always did, because Shiao Yi was the only one it could ever work on.

His healing power existed for Shiao Yi alone.

To avoid putting any more strain on Shiao Yi, Dominic slowly lifted himself and adjusted Shiao Yi into a more stable position in his arms.

Shiao Yi’s bones and organs were in no real shape anymore, so even the smallest careless movement could be dangerous.

No amount of caution would ever be too much.

In Dominic’s arms, Shiao Yi’s body temperature slowly began to rise and his heartbeat became clearer, beating with more strength.

As the destroyed organs repaired themselves at high speed, the process naturally created heat and intense pain.

Even unconscious, Shiao Yi’s eyebrows tightened as if he were suffering.

But the injuries were severe and urgent.

He had no choice but to endure it for a while longer.

Dominic found himself remembering the first time he met Shiao Yi.

How many years had passed since then?

Even now, the memory felt sharp and vivid.

Back then, Shiao Yi had also been in a terrible near death state.

His bones were shattered, his organs ruptured and his body was covered in wounds.

Dominic had thought at the time that Shiao Yi had been attacked by a magical beast, but now he knew that wasn’t the case.

It was the same as now, the same kind of condition.

Whatever had happened to Shiao Yi in the world he originally came from, Dominic could not even imagine it.

But Shiao Yi must have taken the same kind of impact back then or something far worse.

Every time Dominic caught a glimpse of Shiao Yi’s harsh past that was filled only with pain and sorrow, he swore to himself that he would never let Shiao Yi suffer like that again.

And yet, he had let this happen once more.

The frustration and helplessness made Dominic grit his teeth hard.

When all of Shiao Yi’s bones were reconnected and his organs fully repaired, Dominic removed his own coat and covered Shiao Yi with it.

Shiao Yi’s clothes had been torn to pieces, blown apart entirely.

Louis stepped forward and handed him a blanket.

What a thoughtful man he was.

Dominic wrapped Shiao Yi carefully in the blanket, then lifted him into his arms and stood up.

He bowed deeply to Quintus and the others who had been watching over them and then he left at once.

Now that the Aeon was destroyed, Dominic’s job was over.

The cleanup of the scene and the negotiations with other nations could be left to the diplomats whose work specialized in that.

Dominic had only one priority and that’s Shiao Yi.

As Dominic headed toward the group of quickly assembled field tents, Sayu quickly run after him.

Sayu guided him to the medical tent and Dominic laid Shiao Yi down on a simple bed.

Sayu was still serving as the chief healer of the Second Division.

They had known each other for a long time.

There had been talk of promoting him to the royal medical facility, but he had refused, saying he had no intention of transferring.

It was very much like Sayu, who valued being on the field above anything else.

Sayu began examining Shiao Yi right away.

The regenerated organs seemed to be functioning without issue.

But Shiao Yi’s body was still unstable after the healing.

After all, these were injuries so severe that instant death would not have been strange.

Dominic had forced the healing to save him and it had placed a lot of strain on Shiao Yi’s body.

Sayu moved quickly but carefully as he wrapped bandages around Shiao Yi and secured his entire body.

"He should rest for a while. He’ll probably develop a fever, so please make sure he takes this medicine."

"Understood. Thank you."

"Even if the outside looks healed, the strain must still be enormous. His fatigue will remain. Even if he wakes up, he needs at least a week of rest. Wait for medical permission before letting him move. No pushing himself."

Just when Dominic wondered why Sayu was stressing it so much, Sayu followed up calmly.

"So please. Control yourself."

There was no need to ask what he meant.

Dominic replied with irritation.

"I’m not that much of a brute."

"I heard a lot from Captain Louis, you know?"

That Louis... he likes doing unnecessary things again.

Dominic had just started to think better of him and now it was all canceled out.

Later, Mr. Vundo and General Gabrant arrived and helped transport him and Shiao Yi to Rosaria through teleportation.

While it normally took several hours and several people to create a teleportation circle that was strong enough to send multiple people over a long distance, Mr. Vundo completed it alone in about ten minutes with Gabrant’s support.

Teleportation magic required more time and power depending on the distance and the number of people being transported.

They arrived in the teleportation chamber located within the palace grounds.

Dominic ignored the chancellor who wanted to question him in detail and brushed aside the worried royals who tried to rush toward them.

While holding Shiao Yi who is still unconscious in his arms, Dominic got into a palace carriage and returned home.

Jude did not panic even after seeing their condition.

He quickly gave some instructions to Lambard and Eline and arranged for a doctor.

Dominic went straight to the second floor bedroom and gently laid Shiao Yi down on the bed.

Shiao Yi continued to sleep deeply.
