CHAPTER 310: CHAPTER 310: CHILD, ARE YOU STILL THERE?
Lu Jinyang didn’t have any doubts upon hearing that, and considering that he was blind, to be honest, he also didn’t have the confidence to meet Zhuang Shuqing.
Even if he did see her, what then? He couldn’t see her face, and it might only add to her psychological burden.
Thinking this, he didn’t bring up Zhuang Shuqing anymore.
The next day, Lu Jinyang fully accepted the fact that he was blind.
Due to his strong mental resilience, he not only accepted this reality but also cooperated by getting out of bed and fumbling around, adapting to a life without sight.
Li Yan stood outside the VIP ward, looking at Lu Jinyang who moved like a toddler learning to walk, and felt a surge of guilt in his heart.
He knocked on the door, entered, and joked, "Young Master Lu, you are the most determined patient I’ve ever seen. I feel proud to be your doctor."
Lu Jinyang slightly turned his head, then turned back, continuing with what he was doing, "I’m just trying to get out of this place that reeks of disinfectant as soon as I can."
Yes, the hospital was a dreadful place for Lu Jinyang.
He never liked hospitals; to him, they symbolized harm and separation.
Li Yan touched his nose and didn’t continue the conversation.
"I just reviewed your examination report and found that you have a blood clot pressing on a nerve in your head, which is currently causing your blindness. I’ve come today to ask if you want to undergo surgery to remove it."
Lu Jinyang paused, "What’s the success rate for the surgery?"
"Sixty percent."
Lu Jinyang turned his head away again, ignoring Li Yan.
Li Yan was quite taken aback, "Hey, that’s already the highest certainty in this field, you know."
Lu Jinyang retorted without any courtesy, "Dean Li, you really should go abroad more often for academic exchanges."
Li Yan: "..."
After a while, Lu Jinyang spoke again: "You go make some inquiries, see if there’s any overseas expert with an eighty percent chance of success, and arrange the surgery immediately."
Li Yan didn’t say anything.
The two of them stayed in silence for a while; Li Yan felt that with Lu Jinyang’s mental fortitude, there was no real need for him to come and provide emotional support – making him feel that his presence there was superfluous.
Just as he was about to walk out the door, Lu Jinyang spoke again.
"Don’t tell her about my blindness. Just say that I will go see her soon."
"... Okay, once she wakes up I will definitely tell her myself."
Closing the door, Li Yan stood at the entrance, his hands clenched tightly into fists.
Lu Jinyang, I’ve only done this one thing wrong to you in my life; you’ll forgive me, right?

When Qin Huaixin woke up, the room was bathed in white, which made her feel like she was in a morgue.
Upon waking, she felt much better, but then she realized she was no longer in the dark little room. Startled, she looked around quickly and then swiftly pulled back the covers, gently touching her lower abdomen.
The child, was it still there?
The door opened, and a figure that had lingered in her dreams walked in. With the backlighting, she could still make out his features.
She saw the figure’s surprise and delight when he saw her, then he dropped what he was holding and rapidly ran toward her.
The moment she was wrapped in his embrace, she blinked softly, "This isn’t a dream, is it?"
Then, she felt his strong arms tighten even more around her.
It was a while before the person let go of her.
Qin Huaixin struggled to find her voice, her emotion-laden face pale as she asked, "Leng Yixing? Where is this?"
