Chapter 1673: 65 Sky Serpent King
Chapter 1673: Chapter 65 Sky Serpent King
Tornado storms were spewed out by the Sky Serpent King. They ballooned with the wind, transforming into colossal whirlwinds in the blink of an eye, shooting straight toward the platform.
“Defend!” The strategist, his robe fluttering wildly, roared as he commanded the team to form up.
The tornadoes writhed like drunken madmen, their bodies twisting. Each swift spin unleashed razor-sharp crescent-shaped wind blades that whistled through the air like razors slicing the atmosphere, sweeping toward the Trojan Squad.
Sclang, sclang! The wind blades struck the shields and the stones on the platform, exploding into dazzling sparks.
“Stop standing there! Fire!” Yan Chiyang aimed his finger at the Sky Serpent King, wanting to unleash his ultimate ability during the brief moment the boss emerged from the Black Cloud Vortex, but he failed.
The Sky Serpent King raised six arms, each holding a magic treasure, releasing skills that blanketed the seven Seeds with an inescapable array of assaults.
“This creature’s combat instincts are terrifying!” Zhu Xiaolei exclaimed in shock. The Sky Serpent King ignored attacking others simply because it had no need to—under the violent tornado storm, the others were barely able to protect themselves while the Seeds were testing the boss’s strength.
“So this is that Buddha Mother, what was it, the Peacock King?”
Yan Chiyang’s feet began to glow with a silver halo as he spoke, followed by a faint golden flame igniting and enveloping his entire body in an instant.
Without waiting for a response, Yan Chiyang launched himself like an intercontinental missile, shooting directly at the Sky Serpent King.
The Vajra Circle, the steel fork, and the gourd aimed at Yan Chiyang, bombarding him with golden light beams, black threads, and feather arrows fired from the gourd.
“Protect him! Distract the boss!” Bingxu activated his illusory realm, bending the Sky Serpent King’s attacks and causing them to miss their target.
Vasily’s upper body transformed, a muzzle extending out and delivering suppressive firepower.
Di Jingfei clapped his hands, summoning a turtle shield above Yan Chiyang’s head to block the incoming attacks.
Despite the lack of rehearsed coordination, the Seeds—including the reserve candidates—almost instinctively worked together seamlessly, each executing their role, launching their strongest offensive against the Sky Serpent King.
Of course, Elizabeth was the exception. She stood to the side, showing no inclination to act.
“What’s your problem?” Li Yuan chastised the Blade Empress, trying to provoke her attention.
“A true knight disdains ganging up on others!” Elizabeth stared resolutely at the Sky Serpent King, her gaze unwavering.
“You’re not seriously thinking of engaging it in a fair duel, are you?” Li Yuan started to mock her, but upon seeing Elizabeth’s unchanging expression, his amusement turned into disbelief. “A beautiful woman—the pity is she’s a lunatic.”
BOOM! Yan Chiyang struck the Sky Serpent King, and it was as though a mini-nuclear bomb had exploded. However, all the destructive force was contained right around the boss, sending a mushroom-shaped flame erupting and engulfing it.
Before the flames had even subsided, counterattacks erupted from within the explosion. Aside from being slightly covered in smoke and scorch marks, the Sky Serpent King remained completely unharmed.
“This thing doesn’t have the slightest demeanor of a Buddha Mother. Perhaps it’s some other deity?” The middle-aged man, being Chinese, had some understanding of Buddhism. The boss before them embodied none of the characteristics of the Peacock King.
The Sky Serpent King squeezed itself out of the Black Cloud Vortex, floating in the sky and looking down on the platform.
It appeared as a breathtakingly beautiful woman with three different faces, each a masterpiece of unparalleled beauty. Her upper body, perfectly proportioned, was clad in lustrous scales that enhanced rather than detracted from her allure. There was an almost irresistible allure to her, an exotic temptation that could leave any man swallowing hard.
From her waist down, her body transformed into that of a massive python. Coiled atop itself, her tail tip pointed upward, exuding a divine air and shrouded in a black vertical halo.
“You will all become nourishment for the spirit embryos, strengthening Darkness Tathagata. You will be the first souls for the Death Buddha Kingdom I, the Sky Serpent King, shall establish!” The Sky Serpent King let out a loud laugh full of arrogant dominance, disregarding the Seeds entirely.
“I told you, the Buddha Mother should’ve been stronger than this,” the middle-aged man said, taking pride in this moment of knowing more than the Seeds—a brag-worthy achievement.
“Who cares who it is, as long as it’s targeted for execution,” Yan Chiyang said mid-air, this time more cautious. “Surely you’re not expecting me to take the lead again, are you?”
“The capable shall work harder,” the middle-aged man flattered.
“Earl Qian Nian, stop spectating and act already! I still have a meeting later. Time’s running out!” Di Jingfei urged the old monster.
The Earl sat calmly, unmoved, with no intention of striking.
“The timing for my entry into this world hasn’t come yet,” he said. “My raw power is too immense; it would shatter this world. But still, you killed off my believers and intruded into the Dark Mandala Array.” The Sky Serpent King’s six massive eyes fixed on the Seeds. “I must admit your strength is impressive, but this will be your graveyard. Behold the power I wield unrestrained!”
The Sky Serpent King’s voice boomed like the Thunder Emperor, reverberating with commanding power. Within the vast echoes, its body began to expand. Clouds gathered, accompanied by flashes of lightning and roaring winds. Far from damaging the creature, the storms infused it with energy.
The very space seemed to tremble, fracturing as an overwhelming aura swept across the Vault of Heaven. The Seeds felt as insignificant as summer insects before ice, suffused with a humbling urge to grovel before the Sky Serpent King.
“It’s a mental attack! Tao Ran, activate the Sighing Barrier!” Dantai unleashed a psychic shield. Yet the intangible waves, like a tsunami, wreaked havoc, almost ripping their souls apart.
Before the fight had even begun, the low-level Conquerors were clutching their heads, incapacitated, their combat power largely neutralized.
The entire sky rang with the Sky Serpent King’s triumphant laughter. Its colossal form had swelled to a thousand meters, coiled in the heavens like a god crushing mere mortals.
“Willard, Morgana, guard Tao Ran! The rest of you, attack the Sky Serpent King!”
At Earl Qian Nian’s command, the eight great knights sprang into action. Two immediately flew to the “Black Long Straight” to offer protection.
The sight left other squads seething with envy. The knights serving the old monster were peak Tier Three, even approaching Tier Four strength, rivaling the group leaders.
With their protection, the Warhammer team held an ironclad defense.
The old monster turned the Nibelungen Ring on his index finger—a unique item above all others—which instantly radiated a dazzling brilliance.
In an inconspicuous corner, the silver-haired youth stole a greedy glance at the ring before shifting his gaze to a red-haired young woman on the American Team.
“Asgard’s Ancient Gold Court!” The old monster strode leisurely toward the Sky Serpent King.
Silent yet overwhelming, a domain unfolded, enveloping the entire platform, including the thousand-meter Sky Serpent King within its bounds.
The domain, anchored by a massive World Tree, amplified blessing effects exponentially, enabled instant support and recall for allies, and unleashed apex-range strikes.
The Sky Serpent King barely had time to react before six knights teleported to different around-it positions and launched a coordinated attack.
“Old man, I don’t need your help!” Yan Chiyang cursed, wrapped in platinum flames, shooting toward the Sky Serpent King, triggering consecutive explosive impacts.
“As I wished, double the attack power, double the defense!”
With the old monster’s Grand Wish Spell unleashed, the Power of Destiny materialized into glowing golden script across the sky, which then descended like meteors, merging into the bodies of each Conqueror.
“Hmph!” Di Jingfei snorted, shimmering light flaring from his body to shatter the script before it could touch him—he had no interest in letting someone else’s power influence him.
Nuclear Flame, too, took precautions, summoning Solar Fire to reduce the text to ash.
“Are these things dangerous or not?”
Zhang Anyuan voiced his concern, visibly astonished—many Conquerors shared the same hesitant expressions. They couldn’t reject his buffs, but only a fortunate handful with Fate Series abilities managed to block them outright.
“Look at the Warhammer team!” Someone shouted.
All eyes turned to see that the script-turned-tuna flock was entirely intercepted by the Sighing Barrier, unable to penetrate.
Tao Ran was sweating heavily now; the barrier was nearing its limit. She readied the World Tree Barrier for reinforcement.
“Tao Ran, the Earl means no harm!” Willard frowned. “You can feel it, can’t you?”
Tao Ran looked to Dantai—only team leaders like him held the privilege of giving her orders.
“Continue!” Dantai wasn’t about to drop his guard just because of perceived goodwill. After all, in this world, there’s no such thing as unconditional kindness.
“Ungrateful,” Morgana hissed, itching to teach Dantai a lesson.
“You need to be more confident—act on your own initiative, not follow blindly!” The old monster shook his head disapprovingly toward his subordinates, showing slight disappointment as he looked at Tao Ran. Compared to his ideal successor, she was still too immature. “No matter, I still have time to teach her!”
“What’s that? Worried?” Mu Nianqi curiously asked while observing Tang Zheng’s clone. He seemed to have taken a liking to the girl.
“No!”
Tang Zheng and Queen Mu seized the opportunity while the Seeds were drawing the brunt of the firepower at the front to hide behind the Sky Serpent King, delivering fierce strikes to its lower half.
The backup Seeds followed suit. It was both a safer tactic and a way to secure valuable points, ensuring a prominent place on the leaderboard.
“Elizabeth, stop dithering.” The old monster persuaded, “Every second spent delays salvation for this world!”
“As you command, teacher!”
The previously uninvolved Elizabeth gave a slight bow to Earl Qian Nian, then unsheathed the Holy Sword, gripping it with both hands and raising it high above her head.
The surrounding energy began converging on the Holy Sword, stirring the air currents into a frenzy.
“Breaking Evil Morning Star, burn away all evil, EXCALIBUR!”
Elizabeth immediately unleashed her ultimate ability, slicing downward with a two-handed strike. A hundred-meter-long energy blade cleaved through the Sky Serpent King.
The black protective energy around the Sky Serpent King dissipated. The blade struck flesh, ripping it apart as blood spouted out like fountains.
“Ants, die!” The Sky Serpent King, enraged and reeling, thrashed its body, whipping the skies into a furious storm. Its scales stood on end and fired like crossbow arrows in every direction.
Enhanced by Fate Series power, the scales penetrated everyone’s defenses with ease.
Unable to counter the assault, Tang Zheng’s Gravity Abyss failed to deflect the attacks. His body was riddled with hundreds of scales, bleeding profusely. Realizing defense was futile, he teleported to Mu Nianqi’s side, shielding her with his own body to ensure at least one combatant retained full strength. (To be continued.
