Chapter 1682: Chapter 1 Unable to Exit

“Warhammer Team’s leader, Tang Zheng, scored 10,500 points, breaking the highest single-game score record of the Trojan Horse Game. This is an official announcement!”

Yan Chiyang leaned against the wall, arms crossed and a cigarette in his mouth, daydreaming out of boredom. But then the Red Trojan abruptly interrupted the scoring process to broadcast the global message.

“What?” The cigarette fell from his mouth as disbelief flooded his face. “No way, I must have misheard.”

The Red Trojan didn’t respond to the Nuclear Flame, and as per tradition, repeated the announcement ten times before resuming the scoring.

“That kid isn’t even a Seed. How could he get such a high score?” A Team Member was so frustrated he nearly blew steam out of his nose, throwing his handgun on the ground in anger.

“Precisely because he isn’t a Seed, he could achieve a high score.”

The Vice Leader seemed more understanding, even offering some praise for the leader. In truth, he knew that if Yan Chiyang and Tang Zheng were matched on an even playing field, the former couldn’t guarantee a complete victory.

“Letting an Asia Region Daredevil take the record is infuriating. You all need to work harder.” The Red Trojan was indignant. “It seems I’ve been too lenient with you. From now on, I’ll adjust my attitude and the game difficulty accordingly; no more benefits for you.”

The Red Trojan’s voice echoed through all the Trojan Rooms in the North America region, instantly filling the teams with complaints and frustration. They all resented Tang Zheng but dared not seek revenge for fear of encountering him.

“Next time I meet him, I’ll kill him.” Yan Chiyang punched the wall, which showed no signs of cracking.

Di Jingfei had also heard the announcement, his face as black as a pot bottom. No one else dared to breathe too loudly, shrinking into the corners in case he turned them into his punching bag.

“Big Brother is amazing!” Mirene smacked her lips in admiration.

Among the other Seeds, aside from the competitive Elizabeth, the rest were indifferent – they had long outgrown chasing meaningless fame.

“In the Holy Land War, I’ll kill them all to make them understand that my dignity must not be violated!” With such a high score bonus, Di Jingfei already knew the regular Trojan Horse Game was over. The next round would be the hardest difficulty, the Holy Land War.

“Why isn’t Bi Yun getting her score? Could it be… she reached over 10,000 points?” Lu Fan was overjoyed. Qin Yan and the other key members had already surpassed 10,000 points long ago. However, since they refused to leave, the Silver Trojan stopped asking, and the others had no such luck.

“Gaming Girl, even though you’ve entered Hero Mode, it still won’t contribute much to future battles. You’ll remain a Soy Sauce Party role. You scored 5,100 points and earned two Golden Seeds with a C-level rating,” said the Silver Trojan in a flat tone. “Congratulations on reaching 10,000 points!”

Xu Biyun didn’t say a word. Suddenly, she raised her arm to cover her eyes. Her shoulders trembled, and her low sobs filled the air.

“Leave!” Qin Yan walked over to Gaming Girl and patted her shoulder.

Li Xinlan and her group also came over to persuade Xu Biyun. If she stayed, not only would she be useless, but if she died, Tang Zheng would have to spend points to revive her, which wasn’t worth it.

“Brother Tang, I don’t want to leave!” Xu Biyun looked at Tang Zheng, shaking her head and crying sorrowfully. She wanted to go all the way to the end with everyone. Leaving midway was too heartbreaking, especially since her memory would be wiped, meaning she’d forget the comrades she had lived and fought alongside.

“Leave, find a boyfriend, and enjoy a peaceful life,” Tang Zheng said with a smile as he patted Gaming Girl’s head. “Don’t let your parents worry.”

“Exactly, think about your future!” Lu Fan tried to add a few more words, only to be silenced by Tang Zheng’s glare.

“You’re leaving too, Brother Lin. Go back to your wife and kids; stop risking your life!” Tang Zheng urged. “Qin Yan, Xinlan, Meiqin, all of you should leave. I know you’ve all surpassed 10,000 points.”

“Hey, little brother, do I look like someone afraid of death?” The Old Soldier wasn’t happy.

Qin Yan and the other two completely ignored Tang Zheng, pretending not to hear him.

“Wahhh, Uncle, don’t you want me?” Lu Fan acted up, attempting to jump into Tang Zheng’s arms. He dodged, so she clung to his left leg instead.

“Stop playing innocent; you have no choice this time—you must leave.” Tang Zheng scolded as he flicked her forehead.

“Hmph, Uncle is so mean! I’m ignoring you!” Lu Fan pouted, suddenly lifting her calf to kick his knee before running to Qin Yan’s side. Grabbing Qin Yan’s hand, she stuck her tongue out at Tang Zheng. “I won’t listen to you!”

“Enough! Quiet down; everyone is leaving!” Dantai Zongqi clapped his hands to calm everyone. “Stop arguing. From the looks of it, the next round is the Holy Land War—it’s too dangerous.”

“Then we definitely shouldn’t leave.” Lu Fan’s stance was firm. Her family was too busy to spend time with her. Though she lived in a luxury house, it was unbearably lonely—being with everyone was far more enjoyable.

Li Huiwen and Fang Zhiwen didn’t say a word. In truth, they wanted to leave but simply didn’t have enough points!

“Trojan, I’m leaving now!” Hearing Tang Zheng’s gentle persuasion, Xu Biyun finally nodded, seemingly convinced, and made her request to the Trojan.

“Huh? Did I ever say you could leave?”

The Silver Trojan’s retort made everyone’s hearts skip a beat as they turned to look at it.

“What do you mean?” Qin Yan frowned.

“Sorry, as Dantai mentioned, the next round is the Holy Land War, so you’re all forbidden from leaving and are forced to participate in the next game!”

“That’s so unfair!” Lu Fan murmured, a little secretly overjoyed. Now Tang Zheng couldn’t force her to leave.

“Why didn’t you say so earlier?” Tang Zheng’s anger exploded as he pulled out the Queen’s Roar, set it to Sweep Mode, and unleashed a barrage on the Black Cube.

Boom, boom, boom—the Cube was instantly covered in cracks, fragments breaking off.

“Stop it, or I’ll punish you!” The Silver Trojan roared. To its dismay, it realized there was nothing it could do about this guy. Not to mention his Seed status, this lunatic must’ve obtained the Key of Time and Space during the Parasite’s Eve.

“Peh! If you could punish me, you would’ve done it already!” Tang Zheng spat on the Cube. “If you don’t come up with a way to let them leave, I’ll tear you apart!”

“Quick, stop that lunatic! Fine, fine, I’ll think of something.” The Silver Trojan gave in. If it had a physical form, it would probably want to punch this bastard.

“Tang Zheng, calm down.” Lin Weiguo and his group were startled, rushing to restrain Tang Zheng.

“Actually, as a team leader, you can spend 10,000 points to buy an exemption and send one team member out of the room.”

“What the hell? That’s robbery! What kind of leader would save up 20,000 points without spending them?” Chu Baichuan cursed. “You’re definitely hiding something else—spill it!”

Ai Yixin felt her husband’s grip tighten anxiously. She spoke up to comfort him.

“I will always be with you.”

“Oh, and one more secret: those who die in the Holy Land War cannot be revived!”

The Silver Trojan’s schadenfreude broke everyone’s composure. This revelation meant their escape route was entirely blocked.

“Damn it! If only I had more points!” Chu Baichuan panicked, muttering to himself. Then he looked to Tang Zheng. “Leader, give the exemption to Yixin. My life is yours.”

“What nonsense are you spouting?” Ai Yixin slapped her husband for the first time, furious. “Even if Tang Zheng gave it to me, I wouldn’t leave you.”

Chu Baichuan wanted to continue, but Ai Yixin slapped him again.

“Shut up.” Tears welled up in Ai Yixin’s eyes as she caressed his cheek. “Do you think I’d abandon you? Alive, we share the same bed; in death, the same grave!”

“Yixin!” Chu Baichuan embraced his wife, wishing he could merge her into his arms.

“Silver Trojan, f**k your mother!” Yu Deye flipped the Trojan the middle finger, his mind a chaotic mess as he swore angrily. “You’re sending us to die! Even the Asia Region’s top team was wiped out in the Holy Land War. With the Warhammer Team’s level, we’re just cannon fodder!”

Fang Zhiwen and Li Huiwen anxiously turned to Tang Zheng, their expressions full of dread.

“I have over 30,000 points now. Can I buy three exemptions?” Tang Zheng took a long breath. The sudden change had completely disrupted his plans.

“Yes.”

“Brother Lin, you must leave this time. If something happens to you, how will I face your wife and daughter?” Tang Zheng’s tone was firm and left no room for argument. “Lu Fan, you’re leaving too. Why are you pouting? Do you want me to smack you?”

“Tang Zheng, I’d just be a burden in the Holy Land War. Let me go instead!” Li Huiwen finally couldn’t hold back her words.

Fang Zhiwen, being young and usually confident, hesitated, her lips trembling as she struggled to speak.

“Hey, b*tch, what do you mean by that? Just you’re a burden? I am too!” Yu Deye snapped. Facing Tang Zheng, his tone softened for the first time. “Tang Leader, give me an exemption.”

Though he knew it was a long shot, he had to try.

“Tang Zheng, I can’t die! Your Brother Xu is already gone. If something happens to me too, what will my two daughters do?” Li Huiwen grabbed Tang Zheng’s shirt, pleading, “Tang Zheng, I’m begging you, for your Brother Xu’s sake, save me!”

“Get up first!” Tang Zheng sighed. Although he was unhappy with Li Huiwen, his brotherly bond with Xu Liangmao compelled him to care for her children.

“Lu Fan, Bi Yun, Bai Guo, you three leave!” Qin Yan said, though reluctant. She felt obligated to prioritize her own people over others.

“I’m not leaving!” Lu Fan’s stubbornness flared up.

“Neither am I!” Bai Guo, usually timid, shouted loudly for the first time, defiantly locking eyes with Qin Yan.

“Are you stupid? Even if Tang Zheng clears the Holy Land, some of us will still die. No way we’re getting through unscathed.” Qin Yan tapped the natural airhead on the forehead, both pained and proud. “I have a good chance of surviving. But you? Being this foolish, you’d only trip us up.”

“Don’t try to provoke me; I’m not leaving.” The airhead was resolutely determined to stay. (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian [qidian.com] to vote for recommendations and monthly votes. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
