Infinite Potential System
Chapter 567 - 568: Invincible
William didn't let his opponent make any more preparations. He opened his Domain of Earth and sent a Comet Pellet flying towards Su Mian's position, covering the short hundred meters in the blink of an eye.
"Break!" Su Mian shouted while channeling the Order Element.
Before the Comet Pellet could touch Su Mian's shield, the Spell deconstructed until it was merely a mass of Earth Mana Particles. The Domain of Earth was also affected, forcing William to spend more Mana to keep the Domain active.
William was about to make another move, but Su Mian beat him to it. A five-meter white cube forced William to dodge to the side, embedding itself in the back wall. A dozen more cubes followed suit, maintaining their physical form even after missing the attack.
Some of the cubes embedded in the walls, while others floated in midair and turned into a minefield William didn't dare touch. Even with his insane regeneration, these attacks were cast by a Solar Deity Realm Cultivator and he was merely in the Ascension Realm.
His Accelerated Reflexes effect was active almost constantly, slowing everything by 400 times and allowing William to dodge more and more narrowly. As he evaded the Order Element, William noticed something.
His System Panel was constantly filling with the usual battle notifications, but there was one in particular that hadn't activated in quite some time.
-Reflexive Learning (Fitness Talent Bonus Effect) has triggered.
-Reflexive Learning: When narrowly dodging one or multiple attacks, one random attack within one meter of the Host will be selected and be partially comprehended by ten percent.
William realized the cause immediately. Since his experience using most Elements was extremely high compared to his peers, the Reflexive Learning Bonus Effect almost never triggered. This was because he already understood every Spell used on him.
The Order Element is different, however, since even though William has full Comprehension of the Element, he's hardly ever used it in battle. This means he would need to take some time, even if it was a few seconds, to learn new Spells of the Order Element.
But because Su Mian was using the Spells instead, William could learn Su Mian's Spells for free! Without any practice!
At some point in the future, this effect could really come in handy. William wished he could fight two more Cultivators with the Fate and Karma Elements now.
-Do you really have time to think about that?
Of course I do— oh shit! William leapt into the air, just in time to dodge a pale spike aimed for his chest.
It scraped at his inner thigh, shattering the Ascended C-Rank Forcefield and creating a small tear in his clothing reinforced by Durable Cloth. Had the spike not been redirected by those two defensive measures, William would need to regrow a leg after one attack.
Su Mian's expression was very dark. He should be proud of the fact that he'd breached two of William's strongest defenses, but despite using every trump card at his disposal, William hadn't shed even a single drop of blood!
He could see William dodging more and more accurately with each move he made, somehow making it harder for Su Mian to land an attack. His placement of the Order Cubes was deliberate, meant to reduce William's range of movement as much as possible, but despite being noticeably slower, William could still avoid him!
Su Mian didn't let up on the attacks, consuming dozens of rare Pills worth tens of Spirit Jades just so he could maintain the intensity.
On the other side, William continued dodging until he'd fully comprehended each Order Spell. As an added benefit, William could identify which Spell Su Mian was about to cast simply based on his opponent's Mana flow and the movement of the ambient Order Mana.
He started casting his own Magic, opening the Territory of Earth to supplement his Domain and help gather Mana into a Comet Pellet. These were the measures William had to take to cast Spells in this Order-filled environment, but he had no choice if he wanted to fight back.
He created dozens of Comet Pellets in a row, using a hint of the Space Element to hold them in position at specific locations in the room. William knew that launching one Comet Pellet at a time would result in a repeat of last time, so he made sure to keep the Pellets hidden behind Order Cubes.
From Su Mian's perspective, William was still jumping around like a little rabbit while the Order Element was filling the room with white. Another hundred cubes or so and William would have nowhere to move!
"Pang! Pang! Pang!"
Su Mian was startled to see ripples forming on the layered shield that wrapped around him, assaulted by Comet Pellets that possessed frightening combat strength. He quickly cast Order Mana in an area of effect around him, blasting apart any further projectiles before they could near him.
Su Mian's body is not as strong as William's, nor does he have any form of regeneration aside from medicinal Pills. If these Comet Pellets break his shield, Su Mian could easily lose his life.
Knowing that William had regained the initiative, Su Mian decisively detonated all of the Order Cubes in the room. Like an underwater minefield triggered in the heat of a battle, a chain of explosions shook the room, chunks of earth dropping from the ceiling and threatening to crush both Cultivators.
William crossed his arms in front of his chest with an enhanced Starmetal Shield in hand, retreating backwards just in time for his Forcefield to reactivate. He flew upwards, allowing the explosions to propel him through the ceiling while the Forcefield blocked the damage from his collapsing structure.
Su Mian ignored the explosions and followed after William, sidestepping the fallen rubble as he prepared another big attack. The air hummed as a pale cylinder spread from his chest towards the sky, using the ambient Light Mana to speed up the Spell until it was almost a hundred times faster than his previous attacks.
With his vision blocked by the explosions, William didn't see Su Mian's attack until it was too late. Even the Accelerated Reflexes Effect didn't slow time enough for him to get out of the way.
Su Mian panted, but kept an eye on the Spell the entire time. He calculated that his attack of the Order Element, at the Solar Deity Realm, would reach William in a quarter of a second. Judging from William's earlier speed, he would need at least three seconds to dodge.
William's defense is strong, but this was all the reason why Su Mian put so much effort into this final move. Since the beginning, Su Mian had planned for the possibility of this outcome.
Seeing the Spell about to envelop William and turn the boy into particles, Su Mian heaved a sigh of relief. The battle was finally over. He can return to his army having completed this mission.
"Seal! Weaken that attack!"
"Space! Redirect it!"
"Fire! Protect me!"
Three consecutive shouts permeated the area above, followed by the busy movements of three Elements following their Master's command.
Su Mian looked up in horror as a fire-clad young man wielding a Starmetal Shield and shrouded in grey smoke repeatedly weakened his most powerful Order Spell until it dissipated into the environment.
This kid... he's invincible!
