CHAPTER 56: SHARING IDEAS!

Chapter 56: Sharing Ideas!

After Marwa threw her questions, the group went silent.

For now, it seemed that only Ken and Darek had made some plans, as they knew more about the sect than the other two.

"The general idea of mine is that once we reach our location, we slow down that first day. Blend in with the crowd and make the villagers think that we’re only passing travelers who can help them." Darek spoke, and as he did, he threw glances at Ken, as if waiting to see if he’ll approve of his idea or not.

"We can go from there." Alex nodded. If Darek said it, then it’s a good idea. The guy was the heir of a literal assassination agency.

"It’s all about gathering information." Darek continued when he saw that Ken was silent. Either the guy was waiting for him to spew his entire plan out to say his, silently listening, or their plans had similarities.

’There’s no way this guy has no plan.’ This was an idea Darek firmly believed.

"Every little sign, every detail we can use to our advantage. The biggest problem will be finding the contractor. Demons know how to choose, and they think wisely; thus, the contractor will be someone who hides himself quite well."

"But due to our arrival they will be shaken. They can’t have unexpected guests going around freely; thus, he will want to take us out quickly, starting from the weakest. If we manage to find him before one of us is down, we’ll try to play with his mind."

"Get him to think the strongest is the weakest?" Marwa looked at Darek and then Ken.

"Exactly."

"That’s a good plan already. If we follow it, we have nothing to fear." Alex said, but Darek, hearing his words, almost hit his head.

’This is not a plan... it’s the general idea; it’s what you should do in any mission.’ He almost wanted to speak these words directly in his face, but he chose another method.

"It’s the foundation for now, but if we don’t want any deaths in our mission, then we need more than this."

"Right?" Marwa smiled.

"What do you guys know about devils?" Ken suddenly stopped eating and asked.

’Finally some help.’ Darek thought to himself.

"To be crystal clear, I barely have any experience fighting humans... when it comes to demons, I have none." Marwa suddenly spoke.

"My forte is in evading trouble... if that helps." Alex said, almost joking, but he wasn’t.

Darek and Ken glanced at each other, and both knew what was going on in the other’s mind.

They had useless teammates, and it wasn’t surprising.

When Ken and Darek spoke about teammates the previous day, they hadn’t gone into details, but it was clear. They didn’t want deadbeats; they wanted individuals talented enough to not hold them back.

And that’s what he got; any more and they’ll have a hard time finding them.

The top 10 had no plans of going on missions yet, and a small number of the top 100 either were in one, had already finished it, or weren’t planning to.

And to be completely honest, Ken didn’t have much hope in the entire school of outer disciples from his batch.

This was a demon they were talking about, a devil who might be powerful enough to punch a hole through Adam, let alone newbies with barely any cultivation world experience.

It was in the case where they hadn’t eliminated the contractor; otherwise, it’s a simple question of using a Restraining Order and dealing the finishing blow.

Which was the reason why this question could be taken by the new batch, though no one in his right mind would choose it, except Ken.

And no one was dumb enough to question the one who reached the 8th floor and got 2 SSS-ranks.

’I had a hard time getting even these two, so don’t hold it on me.’ Still, Darek thought these words to himself.

Even with the entire outer sect wanting to catch a glimpse of Ken, when this mission was brought up in front of the face of anyone, they would straight out refuse; otherwise, it wouldn’t be these two brought by Darek but hundreds of disciples for Ken to pick and choose from.

Ken gave Darek a glance, as if saying, We only needed numbers; you did a good job.

’So no worries, huh?’ Surprisingly, the two already had enough synergy to understand each other with eyes, which didn’t make Darek happy at all.

"Okay, then allow me." Ken, without missing a beat, brought out a bunch of papers from his ring and put them on the table.

"Each of you take one; it has everything you need to know about devils." Ken, seeing as no one had any idea, decided to move on.

"We have two goals: one, don’t die; two, finish our mission with the best efficiency and minor casualties for the villagers, and take care of the contractor in the shortest time possible." He stated it clearly.

He needed them to know what the goals were and to hold them in higher importance than going with their plans.

The devil would be subjugated with or without them, but if the casualties were big or worse, if one of them ended up dying, it would put a stain on his mind.

Some things had to be clear, and Ken didn’t want anything to hold him back, now or in the future.

The group then took their time, keeping their surprise to themselves and reading the papers thoroughly.

Darek was the first to be done, and from his face, one could see slight fear more than astonishment.

"You might as well write the devil’s name in here." Darek said, trying to bring out a sigh that was blocked in his throat.

"I can if you really need it." Ken joked, but his words weren’t.

"Seriously?" Darek’s eyes glanced at him, but he couldn’t pierce through his face; worse, he couldn’t make up anything.

"..." Ken didn’t reply, and once the others were done with their faces more sour than happy, he continued.

"With that out of the way, let me give each one of you your instructions for the next four days."

He wasn’t done... he was going to eliminate any possibility of them going against his goals, to the point where they can’t fail even if they wanted to.
