CHAPTER 77: THE NIGHT!
Chapter 77: The Night!
The first to enter the room were, of course, Adam, Ken, and his group.
And look and behold, a glorious scene beyond what words could describe, or dare to.
It was as if the theme was gold and spirit.
Every inch of the room was filled with gold, including its impossibly wide hall that Ken surmised could hold 10,000 individuals easily, let alone the initial 500, and the countless chandeliers dangling from its dome-like glass roof that had a view of the stars that one could only describe as out of this world.
A long red carpet welcomed the group, and this carpet went all the way to the end, where a huge round table that could hold 50 people alone stood at the very core of the room.
Every 25 square meters had a smaller round table, and every single one of them was filled with delicacies to the brim.
Delicacies that almost shone from grandeur, desserts, fruits, dishes... all made from treasured ingredients or were one.
Every single angle could take you on a ride, and every time you looked again, it seemed as if you missed something on the surface, which made you surprised once again and constantly on your toes.
Dazzling and brilliantly carved formations covered the entire room, from its ground to its top.
This entire room was as if a masterpiece of a painting was somehow made alive straight out of someone’s wildest dream.
There were countless butlers and maids, but none of them were disciples; almost all of them were spirits, and some were were professional-looking humans out of this world in terms of looks and demeanor.
They seemed as if they could smell your demands a thousand miles away.
A thousand pages would not suffice to cover this masterpiece of a room, and that is why Ken focused on what was more important.
Adam was leading them to the center of the room. Alongside them were the rest of the staff; all of them included made 11 in total, and out of nowhere a lady of otherworldly demeanor covering her entire face with a veil showed up and, with a slight bow, walked alongside Adam.
"My love, is everything ready?" Adam, with a sweet tone, called to the lady next to him, who was wearing a golden layered piece of cloth that covered her body from head to toe.
Not a piece of her was showing up; even her hands were covered in gloves.
She looked like a nun to others, but to Ken, he saw a woman who respected herself and a man who treasured his woman like a pearl.
This world turned out to have some values long lost to his original world and a different mindset altogether, or at least in some parts.
For some reason or another, he was forced to pull out his gaze from the lady the second he laid his first on her, and Ken felt that more than anything magical, it was simply his respect.
This wasn’t a foreign feeling, as he had dealt with women like her even before coming to this world, but... to be able to see someone like this here sure made him surprised.
He took a look at Adam, who, for some reason, was talking and nodding as if he was the only one who could hear the woman, and felt his respect rising.
Where was jealousy back on his world?
A man could walk alongside a lady whose naked body was seen by half the world, and the other could walk with a man who’d slept with the entire continent.
Lost values, lost cultures, and filthy, rotted mindsets. This was Ken’s impression of his world, which was one of the reasons his hand was forced.
The group finally reached the table after what seemed like an eternity, and Ken could swear he had not heard a single word nor sound from the lady next to Adam, as if she was walking on clouds.
"My dear brothers and sisters, before I welcome the other guests, please do sit." Adam suddenly turned towards them and, in his usual calm and collected manner, gestured for them to sit.
And Ken lowered his head in focus and took out a chair to sit on, his head full of thoughts.
"Hey, hey, Senior Brother Adam, who’s this lady next to you?" And Alissa jumps again with questions that shouldn’t be asked.
And even though Lu Chansheng and others wanted to shut her mouth, they couldn’t, as they themselves were more interested in knowing.
Ken himself had to stop his thoughts and listen for a second, and at that point, his senses caught some movement beyond him, and he could see some extremely dignified individuals coming in, followed by what seemed like their disciples, all of whom had an otherwordly aura that made even him sweat.
"Oh? Excuse me for not introducing her before. This is the love of my life and my dear wife." Adam gestured to the woman next to him, and the lady bowed once again, not saying a single word.
Ken didn’t fail to notice the lack of mention of a name, and he was beginning to wonder... just how jealous and possessive was this man of his wife? And how was this lady so in control of herself to not allow herself to show a single eyelash from her body?
But he could somewhat understand where they came from.
While some thought of jealousy as insecurity, Ken would rather have that insecurity than have another woman look at his significant other with a wrong gaze, let alone a man.
He believed himself to be more jealous than even Adam, but due to the sudden discovery of the fact that such a culture existed in this world, he was pleasantly surprised.
"Oh, Brother, you’re married? No wond-" At that time, when Alissa was still in the midst of her words, the others noticed the elders.
Adam immediately tensed up and focused on the important guests as his wife disappeared from the room in a flash.
"This humble disciple greets the inner sect elders and the official disciples!"
