CHAPTER 82: STAR OF THE SHOW!
Chapter 82: Star of the Show!
All eyes fell on Ken as he moved towards his staff group’s table.
Core and official disciples were close to the elder’s side, so they didn’t bother going towards Ken just yet, but from inner sect disciples to individuals from Adam’s batch, all were ready to get up in a second and rush towards Ken.
This wasn’t just a genius; this was a key to a higher realm, a key to a treasure of rewards. Going on a single mission with him can get you years’ worth of rewards in less than a month.
Anyone who knew the boons from Alex and his now spirit path partner, Marwa, almost fainted from the missed opportunity.
They didn’t do anything? They just sat and had fun, and in two days the devil was done with?
How amazing was this? Now they didn’t have to do a mission till next year, and they had enough boons to seclude themselves in fruitful cultivation for years, not just months!
A beautiful, stressless life just from going on a mission with Ken?
Even the inner sect disciples wanted a piece of this cake that would move to their side very soon.
In fact, they had the chance to get closer to him now while he was still an outer sect disciple and could benefit them; then, they would rise on his coattails once he reaches their status and soars from there.
"Hey Lu, I feel a lot of eyes on us at this moment. Is it just me?" Alissa, who was sitting next to Lu, who was, alongside the other staff, still affected by the majesty of the elders, asked.
"..." Lu heard these words and, without replying, looked around until he saw Ken.
"It’s not on us... it’s on him." Lu spoke these words as the entire staff group turned to look at Ken, and while some smiled at their situation, others didn’t know how to react.
Laugh or cry at their success? Laugh or cry at the fact that they were the closest individuals to this monster of a man?
While others wanted to get to know him, they who did, found themselves in the middle of places they weren’t worthy of being in.
To get so close to the inner sect elders? No, even more than that, sit in their places?
They’ll have nightmares about this for years!
Some of the especially introverted individuals were even thinking of just ditching the gathering, the VIP room, and everything to go back and hole themselves up in their houses, their safe spots.
"Hey Ken." Thoughts and words slowed down the second Lu greeted Ken.
"Sorry to have put you in that spot." Ken apologized the second he got the chance.
"No. It’s our fault for being there." Lu shook his head, and the others nodded too... well, aside from Alissa.
"Adam should have told us that that table would have inner sect elders... why did he keep silent about it?" Almost annoyed, Alissa asked Ken, who always seemed to have answers for things.
"I’m sure he didn’t know how to tell you..." Ken replied and then took a look at the entire staff group.
"Knowing him, he’ll probably make it up for us." Lu shook his head, then his eyes landed on Ken, and he knew what he was trying to say.
"Don’t worry about us; we’ll stay seated here." Lu spoke on behalf of the entire group.
And Ken, instead of saying anything else, nodded.
"Then I won’t bother you guys." Ken’s senses then caught people approaching, and he used this chance to get away from the staff group.
This way, no matter who spoke to him, they wouldn’t be bothered.
He turned his head, and the first person his eyes laid on was...
"Darek." Ken smiled softly, and Darek nodded towards him.
Next to him was a group of individuals Ken needed no introductions to.
His hints once again told him much about them but nothing worth mentioning.
"And these are?" Ken asked.
"They’re our batch’s top 10." Darek replied calmly.
"Hello there, Brother Ken!" The first to speak was a young man with lush and long black hair and brown eyes.
His face was sharp and accentuated, making him look quite handsome in most people’s eyes, and to add to that, he had an intoxicating smile on his face that made him instantly enter people’s hearts.
"This is the former top 1, Alister Doggan." Darek introduced him, and Ken nodded.
"Nice to meet you, Brother Alister." Ken moved closer to the young man, and they shook hands.
With a smile, Alister then looked straight into Ken’s eyes, and Ken saw that very extroverted look on his face and knew that this young man should be a master at communicating with people.
"I finally got the chance to meet you." Alister spoke first.
"I’ve been looking forward to seeing the former top 1 too." Ken, with all honesty, replied back.
"Haha, good to know I caught your eye." Alister laughed, almost pleased by the fact that Ken noticed him, or so he showed on the surface.
"This is Diana HeinLich." Darek moved closer to Ken and introduced the former top 2, or the top 3 at this moment.
"Nice to meet you, Sister." Ken nodded towards her, and she did the same, a neutral look on her face, but her eyes were almost digging holes in Ken’s face.
"This is Darren Doggan, Alister’s younger brother." Darek introduced the former top 3, a young man who was striking in appearance but the total opposite in character compared to his brother.
Slightly shy, and minding his own business, his hair covered some of his face, and even one of his eyes as he tried hard not to look Ken in the face.
Darek moved to introduce the others one by one, and Ken shook hands with the men, while the ladies bowed down slightly and he nodded towards them.
Such was the custom of this world.
Introducing the other 6 people, the air around Ken started being filled with people who were either here to get closer to Ken or just hear him speak.
And like this, little by little, the focus of the entire audience was with Ken at its center.
