CHAPTER 84: HIGH COMPREHENSION? THIS IS AN ELDER IN DISGUISE!

Chapter 84: High Comprehension? This is an Elder in Disguise!

"I’m looking very forward to the elder’s lecture!"

"So am I, so am I!"

"Hey, we still have 12 hours; why don’t we use this chance to get to know Brother Ken?"

"Right, we’re mostly here for that."

"Well, since this event is about exchanging knowledge... then why not see what Brother Ken has to say?"

"He’s the one who defeated a devil; he probably has high comprehension in a lot of our techniques or knows a lot."

"Brother Ken works in the library, and I frequent there a lot; whenever I ask him about a book, he knows where it is and can even open the very page of the information I’m looking for. He’s like a library sage!"

"We have to get the top 10 to get him to talk..."

This was the conversation running around Ken’s circle.

And he, who was in the very middle, was speaking with Alister at the moment.

"When I heard that you managed to get S-rank, I almost didn’t believe it. But now I think that you can probably get a higher rank, haha!" Alister said these words, and Ken smiled in return.

"You have to tell us how you did it!" On the side, the top 6, nicknamed Saad, jumped and said.

And upon hearing these words, Darek’s focus returned from hearing the talks around and gazed at Ken.

Seeing everybody looking at him and waiting for him to talk, Ken decided that it wasn’t really too bad.

"Very well, if you all want to know." It was very good to build influence in his batch; he would only benefit from doing so.

"I believe most of us had to deal with the dark-skinned prisoner, right?" Ken spoke around, first looking at the boys, then the ladies, then listening with his ears.

"We only had female prisoners, and it was a blonde named Karen." The former 7th-ranked, a lady named Layla Groundbreaker, was the one to speak.

But Ken’s focus was on the other disciples around them.

"Yeah, I had a hard time against that fella. But by the time the prison opened, he was unconscious!" One fellow disciple’s words caught Ken’s ears.

"... I’d rather not talk about that." Another said.

"I wonder why they put us against such bullies... now I’m forever traumatized!"

"Don’t bring up that guy. Don’t bring up that guy. Don’t bring up that guy." And another mumbled again and again.

Yes. All kinds of people had all kinds of experiences; after all, not everybody was strong-minded, nor had they even survived the first trial.

"So you ladies had it easier?" Ken asked.

"No, she was holding a razor and planned to ruin my face. I know a lot of my sister disciples who were traumatized by the experience, but for me, I just returned the favor." In a chilling voice, Layla spoke of her actions and the case of the female disciples.

"That is good; such people don’t deserve pity." Ken nodded.

"Since most of you would rather have advice to succeed on the first trial rather than how I passed it, I will pause on a few sections and tell you how you could handle similar situations." Ken nodded and slowly said these words, making the faces of the lower-ranked disciples light up.

"You’re really kind, Brother Ken. Thinking about your fellow disciples." Alister smiled kindly, looking down as if feeling ashamed for some reason.

"I have this chance, so I’d rather use it to the best of my ability." Ken looked at the large number of disciples sitting cross-legged around him as if he were some kind of elder and spoke.

"Listen then." he started.

"The first point to keep in mind... is no pity towards enemies." He started.

"Efficiency and full concentration are what we are taught again and again."

"And to reach the basic mastery of the efficient record... the best way you can do that is by removing all distractions from your brain." Hearing Ken speak of the efficiency records, everybody’s focus rose, and his words started being listened to like a holy mantra.

"For us, there’s nothing more important than three techniques, and one, the restraining order, doesn’t need to be worried about." Ken changed the topic swiftly but was coming right back to where he stopped.

He needed to lead the disciples to know of the importance of the efficiency records first before giving them tips that they otherwise might not pay attention to.

"The spirit cultivation method grows with you, and Elder Caster’s explanations are more than enough for you to progress."

"But in terms of missions, way of life, and maximum progress and unveiling of your talents..."

"You need the efficiency records."

Only after speaking these words did people understand what Ken was getting at.

"So the efficiency records are that important? I almost didn’t care about them."

Sure, Elder Caster spoke of ways to advance fast and resolve their problems, but he never focused on the importance of it.

"Now that you understand the importance of the records, it’s time for you to reach basic mastery." Ken said these words with confidence, but the disciples couldn’t understand what he was getting at.

reach basic mastery? Is it that easy? Of course not; otherwise, they would have already done it.

But at this time, forget Ken’s batch; even the inner sect disciples were focusing more on Ken’s words... They who had more experience knew exactly the importance of such a technique.

And for Ken to know it while only being here for less than half a year... maybe they’d benefit from his worldview to achieve faster progress for themselves.

While the outer sect disciples and the newer batches were focusing on Ken’s surface words... the inner sect disciples were focusing on something more, some in addition to his explanation.

They were trying to unveil his very secrets, his very being.

And alongside them, core and official disciples who were more interested in Ken than in standing alongside their masters also started coming this way, and in but a few minutes since the coming of midnight.

Ken’s speech was the focus of the entire gathering.

And just like that, a long lecture from a new disciple was listened to from the young...

To the old!
