CHAPTER 88: ESSENCE OF STRATEGIES!

Chapter 88: Essence of Strategies!

"These... are my Sure-Kill Strategies!" It had been 12 hours from hell.

The elder had just finished, but more than 85% of the disciples from the outer sect could do nothing but hold their breath and faint while doing so from the sheer amount of information and overwhelming steps.

The number of times they thought that was it and started right back from the beginning, the number of times the what-ifs went on and on and on, only adding more when they had the faint feeling of it coming to an end.

When they looked up to see the time remaining from the lecture, more often than not, it caused them to faint.

Thus, only the elite of the elite had the willpower necessary to sit through the entire 12 hours, and those who didn’t managed to learn a skill...

The skill to turn off their brains and remain conscious.

But the room that had a lot of disciples at the start now only had Ken and the top 10 around him, most of whom had absent-minded looks, and a small minority from Lu and Adam’s batch, their top 10, and some inconspicuous individuals here and there.

But no one could truly say they learned everything the elder had said, because it was beyond overwhelming; it attacked your very essence, your very way of thinking.

It was the same as knowing something you’ve been believing for your entire life was actually false; your brain automatically refused it.

Thus, after a slight rest, it was time for the core/official disciples to slowly dilute that information and allow it to sink in for the remaining outer and inner sect disciples.

"Oh, it’s done? It’s done!" The first to jump was Saad, one of the young men who was pretty skillful at being absent-minded without having the elder notice.

The elder was gone by now, and the room started having some disciples coming right back in, but most turned right back when they saw the core/official disciples approaching.

"Brother Ken, how much did you manage to understand from the strategies?" Alister turned to look at Ken with a look of expectation.

And hearing his words, many turned to look.

"Nothing much." Ken shook his head.

He wasn’t wrong; it was just that the elder’s sure-kill strategies had very few points lacking from his own strategies. Thus, the entire time, he had been trying to adapt and fuse their two methods together.

The elder’s strategies were so overwhelming it was almost impossible to fail, but they were built on doubt.

Doubting everything and anything, doubting even your own self and even the fact that you’re doubting.

By the time you were done with the first three steps, the enemy was as good as dead in your hands; you could kill him in a million ways, which went to show the terrifying methods of the elder.

If the tools at your hand were just the slightest bit advanced, you could as well make the enemy die by shocking, without you even having to be in the range of suspicion.

But this was Ken’s conclusion.

One thing the sure-fire strategies failed to add was tools, something Ken would have loved to learn more about using, but when you had such fearsome knowledge about your enemy and yourself, as well as his surroundings, anything could be used to kill.

Still, if the elder went on to talk about tools too... 12 hours wouldn’t be enough. and it surely wouldn’t be as simple as it was by now, becoming more complex than even the inner sect disciples, who were used to his rumbling by now, could handle.

But who knows how advanced the strategies were at the elder’s current realm? Did he use the very same strategy or its advanced form to cause the death of billions of enemies?

In any case, Ken’s answer did cause many to be slightly shocked and even relieved.

If Ken, the genius of this batch, couldn’t understand much, then it’s fine if they didn’t too, right?

"You’re asking the wrong question, Alister." Darek shook his head while facing the former top 1.

There was no one who understood Ken more than him in this batch, and he knew that this man would always answer within the question’s boundaries.

To get the answer you want, you need to give him the right question.

"Did you understand the question?" A yes or no question.

Ken shrugged, almost smiling.

"It wasn’t much." The same answer, but a completely different meaning.

"So you don’t think it’s a bunch of what-ifs and doubts? It’s almost as if you plunge yourself into a turbine of overthinking; a slight misstep and you’ll start doubting your own existence." Darren looked down as his eyes were wide open.

The effect of this lecture almost made him go crazy.

"I believe the core and official disciples will make it much easier to digest." Ken said.

"They’ve been like you at some point, so they know what you’re thinking and how you’re feeling." He added, making the air around his group calm down quite a bit.

"Yeah, you’re right, they should." Diana, the silent girl, nodded.

If he were to be serious, Ken didn’t think the elder’s method was made to be for everyone.

The lecture was mostly there to deter anyone who can’t even handle the possibility of such a way of thinking.

And then, the disciples would come to help them integrate slightly with that way of thinking and only take from it what would benefit them and leave the rest.

This was the way when it came to perspectives. You can’t take everything; otherwise, you’d be nothing more than a copy of the elder, and more often than not, that’s not possible.

Humans were always good at one thing, and it was innovation. And that came from the fact that each individual held unique variations that made them different from one another.

But Ken? He was different.
