Chapter 106: An Allowed Capture
CHAPTER 106: AN ALLOWED CAPTURE
After the sweet moment with the ladies, Jayden stepped out of the house to reach his next appointment. His plan was to reach Monarch Café today just to check up on them and perhaps have a drink.
He would be heading to Dominion Island the next day and would be out for a while, so he had to keep showing the Jayden Cole self before people might start seeing him as a probable figure.
Upon reaching the garage, Jayden decided to choose the Nova X.
Just when he entered, he suddenly felt a cold feeling at the side of his head.
"You move, you die..."
That was the first sentence that came crashing into his ears as Jayden froze at once.
It must be an assassin sent to kill him, Jayden thought, and now he could swear that he could shit in his pants at that point.
"I don’t want to die."
"Well... Happens that there’s actually something that can keep Jayden Cole cool... Something that can blow his brains off and steal his sweet life from him," the man said.
Just as Jayden hadn’t gotten to see him clearly, his voice could describe the kind of person he was.
"What do you want?" Jayden hesitated and asked.
"Your life," the man replied, pressing the gun harder on his head.
Jayden gulped nervously... not too nervous, but his mind was filled with thoughts of "what if?"
"I believe I have done nothing to you. So why do you want to kill me?" Jayden tried to summon enough courage before he could say that.
"Yes, you might be right. But don’t you think you have done many bad things? Ones whose repercussions could cost you your life?" the man asked in a cold tone.
"I... I don’t think so," Jayden muttered.
"Well then, you don’t need to. Let’s go see the king."
The moment Jayden heard that, his heart jumped at once. The term "king" had explained it all, and he just didn’t need to be told what kind of mess he had gotten into.
The King of Nortasia had already come for him!
The man pushed him out of the car, still pressing the gun on his head as he led Jayden out of his own house.
Jayden couldn’t help but wonder how he had managed to trespass into the villa, but he knew he was talking about some skilled assassin here.
An assassin or a bandit... he didn’t know.
Not quite far from the villa, a chopper was parked in a space. A considerable number of people spotted them, but no one could even say a word.
Gasps rose. All in awe.
Jayden remained completely obedient to whatever they commanded him to do, certainly because he was in intense anticipation.
Perhaps he was just going to be warned or even beaten. Maybe he would be directly warned by the King to stay away from Camilia... he didn’t care about that.
He had a plan.
The chopper took off and landed in the modern palace within a few moments, and Jayden was dragged into one of the outer chambers, handcuffed.
He maintained a smile, not minding the threatening treatment or aura he felt around.
King Arthur was already there, with some other men who were clearly members of his rulership council.
Kael stepped out within seconds as he was informed of the mission men’s arrival, his eyes bright as he laughed teasingly.
Jayden was surrounded by four hefty men, making sure he didn’t make any crazy attempt. Perhaps they had heard about how he faced off with two strong bodyguards and broke their arms...
They didn’t want any crazy drama here.
"So, you are the Jayden Cole," King Arthur turned to Jayden directly as he spoke in a cold tone.
Jayden didn’t even blink.
"You are the stubborn rat who’s been troubling the whole country... Ruining my son, your prince’s supposed marriage, and even speaking against my rule," Arthur added.
"I have been king for over twenty years, and guess what, no one has ever questioned my rule and still lived. The day you speak against me, you die..."
Hot air seemed to soar into Jayden’s mouth.
"Whether the people want Democratic Rule or not, that doesn’t concern my intent. I’m king, and I will do whatever I want to. Royalty Rule will remain strong, and my son Kael will become king after me. His son will be king, and the son of his son too," King Arthur said.
Jayden remained still, but a glare painted his face. He already knew King Arthur would never step down, so he wasn’t literally surprised.
The issue was that this case could cause a rebellion in no time, and it might not end well for the country.
"Father. We should just finish him up now. If we kill him, Camilia would have no choice but to marry me," Prince Kael said with a stern tone, glaring at Jayden.
However, King Arthur hesitated for a moment and shook his head.
"We aren’t killing this one. He’s going to be a vexing cockroach. I know. But killing such a big influence in town is not the best of decisions. We’ll let him live, but urge him to take force against the Democratic Rule campaign."
King Arthur turned to Jayden. "You will tell them... all of them. All the parties and forces trying to prepare the rebellion. Whatever way you can, persuade them to stop, or they will face the wrath of their king a thousandfold."
"You have two weeks to get the job done. You just heard and noticed the changes in the threats that have been building, and if we don’t..."
There was a pause and a cold silence.
"You know what your fate will be."
At those final words of the king, the men were ordered to throw him out, and they left him in a lonesome field in the countryside.
Jayden gave a wry smile the moment he was freed, and then he placed his hand at the back of his head to bring out a small chip.
A pretty small recording chip.
He had always implanted this recorder anywhere he went, for many reasons, and what had happened today was one of them.
"Phew... They are fools for accepting the fact that I let just one man take me away..." he chuckled, glancing around.
"Now let’s find our way home."
