CHAPTER 112: DOING OPPOSITE THE PLAN

King Arthur received a letter from Martin Blake, and yes, it was what you think...

Martin Blake is working for the King.

No one knew this, and it had been hidden for many years, since Martin Blake was appointed as the Freedom Party’s leader after the previous leader was presumed dead suddenly in his house five years ago.

Well, it’s what you’re thinking too...

His death was due to murder.

Right, the King plotted his death.

This was why the Freedom Party’s threatened rebellion had been on hold for years. It was not just because they weren’t capable of fighting; it was because their leader was secretly stopping the war, lying to them about not being ready.

"The Dominus thinks he’s smart enough. Haha, I’m the King. My rule is everywhere, even in the midst of my enemies," King Arthur let out an evil laugh as he tossed the letter to the side.

He then called one of the men standing nearby. "Write to Martin. Tell him there will be a man named Jayden Cole who will be coming to talk the people out of fighting against me. It’s time to end it all... Tell him to show his approval of Jayden’s speech, and join him to persuade them."

"They are both influential men. The people would respect them," King Arthur said.

The woman nodded and wrote down the message in detail, and then made sure it was forwarded to the Freedom Party headquarters.

Martin received the letter in no time, so he patiently waited for Jayden Cole to show up. He had really been tired of pretending to be the leader of the crazy Freedom Party group.

King Arthur, his cousin, had promised him to stay on one year longer so they could find a way to end the Freedom Party, because he didn’t trust anyone else to do the job.

Right, Martin Blake is King Arthur’s cousin... That was where this starts...

"Help in the plan to stop the rebellion against me, and you will be General Commander of the Armed Force."

That was what King Arthur had promised his cousin, who had taken it upon himself to do everything. Being the General Commander of the Armed Force was more like being the second King of Nortasia.

It had always been his dream, since becoming King wasn’t in his line.

Martin would do anything, and now he had been doing the job for over five years.

Now that it was almost over, he didn’t want to screw things up.

....

Martin waited for Jayden Cole to show up...

A day... Two days...

The Core members even visited again to get their answers, and Jayden still hadn’t shown up.

Martin Blake had to go with eliminating the Royal Council and informed the King about it so they would prepare and trap them.

Five days. Jayden Cole still didn’t show.

Martin got fed up and had to inform the King that The Dominus and The Core were processing the move to strike.

Just a single visit by Jayden Cole could change everything, perhaps... And even though the stakes were high, he was still needed.

A week passed, and the crazy young man from Eastview still didn’t show up, and it was already getting ugly.

"We have to come up with another plan. I will have no other choice but to join them when it’s time to attack. You know it," Martin told King Arthur on a call.

"Well, this is where you show me if you’re strong enough to be the General Commander. Be a strong man and find a way to stop it. After all, they can’t even trespass into the High Walls," King Arthur said nonchalantly as he ended the call with Martin.

Martin sighed in frustration as he clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.

His eyes were wide and dark, as he was completely out of ideas.

Just then, when he was about to lose it...

"Sir, Jayden Cole just arrived!"

"What? Really?" Martin suddenly jolted as his face brightened.

"He is here," the lady announced as she bowed slightly and calmly left.

Without wasting a second, Martin quickly followed as he stormed out of his office, heading to the guest room where Jayden was said to be.

The moment he reached there, his eyes told him it was true...

"Jayden Cole... The man that can change everything..." he muttered, his voice almost a whisper.

"Mr. Martin Blake. It’s good to see you," Jayden said as he offered his hand.

Martin accepted the handshake as he went ahead and sat down.

"We have been waiting all week. Why haven’t you shown up?" Martin asked.

Jayden smiled softly as he shrugged. "Well, been really busy..." He paused.

"Busy with preparing for a grand speech to the people. You know..." Jayden said as he gave a sharp look.

Martin nodded at once. "I understand. They can’t wait to hear what you have to tell them, Mister Jayden."

"I can’t wait to speak to them as well," Jayden faked a smile as he nodded, trying his best to blend with the opposite feeling.

....

It didn’t take long before they settled at the campaign site. It was a ground that could contain over twenty thousand people, and the Freedom Party usually campaigned there once every six months.

Today, Jayden Cole from New Wiston State would be the man of the day.

After hearing about his stunning rise and tragic story, everyone wanted to see him today. This led to a completely overcrowded site, and the crowd size reached a point where some people were forced to stay outside the ground.

Jayden settled on the podium after some other activities, and then went straight to his speech...

He didn’t want to waste time.

"Let’s welcome Zintech Automobile Chairman Jayden Cole as he comes ahead to give his speech."

That introduction caused a massive session of applause and shouts, which made Jayden pretty proud...

Sure, he always was.

He took the microphone and went straight to the point.

"Dear people of Freedom!"

That greeting...

It held something different...

Something unique.

The crowd cheered at the top of their lungs.

Jayden nodded with a bright face, and then when the shouts subsided, he continued.

"I have been a strong member of the Freedom Party, indirectly... Even though I don’t have a Freedom Party ID yet."

"I have always supported the fight for Democratic Rule... Always..."

Jayden started strong, keeping them in good spirits.

Martin Blake was standing at the side, his face bright as he already knew how this would end.

The plan was to say the opposite in the end, and find a way to talk them into accepting it.

Martin already knew Jayden was on a life-threatening task from the King, so he knew he must have been extra ready for it.

The smile on his face widened, going with the flow.

"Mister Martin Blake here has been a wonderful leader, and will continue to be..."

The crowd cheered again... They cheered hard for their traitor leader, though they never knew he was a traitor...

"We have more big names on the list... There are a lot of us who could fight alongside you and lead you to freedom..." Jayden continued.

"YEAH!!!"

"YES, JAYDEN!!!"

There were all kinds of reactions... All kinds of people. Even psychos and chaotic figures that could break one’s skull with a single punch if they heard otherwise.

Jayden was glancing around and observing...

He had come for an assignment... Well, a different one. One that was expected by many, but unexpected by few.

"We will always stand strong for what’s right, and will always take on the worst to get the best..."

"But..."

At that point, a moment of silence ensued, as the crowd all had striking glances at Jayden, knowing that the only thing a "but" could lead to was the opposite of what he had been saying.

Many faces darkened.

Jayden heaved a sigh and turned to Martin, who smiled and nodded in approval as if he knew what Jayden was about to say.

However...

"I wish you knew... Traitor," Jayden muttered.

"But we must stand strong no matter what!"

The crowd cheered!

Well, what happened was that Jayden was about to deliver the wrong message.

How bad could that be?

It could be worse, because no one, not even Martin, could stop him, since he wouldn’t want the people to know he was against it.

"Sooner or later, we are going to make our move and bring Democracy to reality in Nortasia, and end the tenure of cruel, corrupt Royal leadership!"

Martin stood there with his face completely red, and couldn’t even hold the anger and frustration as things got hotter, leaving the scene.

Entering his car, Martin grabbed his phone and quickly contacted the King.

"He’s telling them the opposite. With that, I don’t think we can stop this," Martin said angrily, his teeth gritted tight.

"I see it. I already knew that bastard would betray me. Well then, I have Plan B," King Arthur said and ended the call.

Right in his chamber, the TV was actually broadcasting the campaign live.

He glared at the screen where Jayden was being shown, and then turned to one of the men standing on the side.

"Bring him to me... Dead or alive."
