CHAPTER 162: MASSES COMPLAINTS

Jayden met up with the Governor of NorthVille, and it was clearly the same approach he got from the people of Fenille that he got from the people of NorthVille.

If they observed well, they would even consider that the treatment from NorthVille was worse.

"Weak President!"

"Murderer!"

Jayden could not help the pain that came with those words, but he had his head straight.

Arriving at Governor Roderick’s office, he was welcomed as expected, but was given a noticeable cold look.

Governor Roderick surely would have heard about Governor Ian’s resignation, so he would be curious to know what had caused it.

Jayden wasn’t worried about that at all... He had made it straight to him that anyone could be free to step down from their posts, as there would be willing figures to take over.

That was the slightest of problems for him at this point, and the main reason he was here was to have a talk with the Governor to address the state after what happened.

Jayden planned to make a national speech after the affected states are duly addressed.

"Welcome, Mister President. Been expecting you," Governor Roderick greeted.

"Well, now I’m here," Jayden smiled as he went ahead to sit.

"It was the Icelandians, right?" Roderick asked.

"Yes," Jayden nodded. "Governor Ian must have told you everything, didn’t he?"

"Well, I wouldn’t lie about that. He told me," Roderick nodded.

Jayden nodded, as they both went silent for a moment, and then Roderick spoke up.

"I know I might not be in the right place to advise you on what to do, Mister President. But in my way, I think we should honor the deal. Icelandia is a powerful country, and picking a fight with them is nothing but a call for destruction. Their opponents always end up as the losing side. We can’t do this."

"Trust me when I say we can," Jayden cut in.

"With all due respect, Mister President... I don’t trust you. I don’t trust our defense. We are not ready to face off with any of the world powers, much less the strongest of them all," Roderick objected.

"The real fact is that when the war starts, the other allies would join. Espana, Franch, Rusnia... All of them. We are going to lose hands down. Can’t you see that?" Governor Roderick shouted.

Jayden smiled and sighed, and then stood up.

"Unfortunately didn’t see anything. Guess I’m blind. Or maybe I’m not. We’ll see. And if you are just going to step down because I’m not honoring the deal, just do me a favor and address the state before you do so. Thanks," Jayden said before he walked away.

Roderick was completely stunned and angered by the President’s stubbornness, not believing how he got so confident about defeating the Icelandians.

Nortasia... A country that isn’t even ranked in the Top 50 strongest countries in the world. How was it even possible to beat the strongest country?

He went straight back home after meeting with Governor Roderick, as he watched him on TV making an address directed by the President, and then resigning right after.

The two affected states’ governors’ resignations had sparked many talks all over the country, and everyone began to rumor that the President wanted to fight back against Icelandia.

Before he knew it, it was all over the place.

The whole country was buzzing before they could even realize it, as Jayden watched many news and articles on the net.

Sure, he never expected as much as this, but he happened not to have felt a thing apart from the anger of the people not believing in him.

But he was okay with it... He always will.

He himself didn’t believe in himself until the system gave him an assurance.

Would you ever see Jayden so confident about something that could cause so much risk without being assured by the system?

No.

Everyone wanted to know why Jayden was so confident, and it was the system. However, the sad thing about it was that they would never know.

Even when the heat was growing as the masses complained, Jayden was calm. Thanks to the system’s constant motivation, but that only pushed him to carry on with the move.

The very next day, Jayden invited all the Governors to the capital for a meeting, where he had to make it clear to them.

Sixteen states in Nortasia, and fourteen governors left.

He surely knew that the rest of the governors would have heard about everything, and today was the day he would go clear.

"After the blasts on Fenille and NorthVille, I met with the governors. Both governors. They warned me to honor the Icelandian deal after figuring it was them, but I refused," Jayden began.

Murmurs suddenly rose from different angles.

"I refused because I’m confident in myself. I’m confident that Nortasia would rise and defeat the Icelandians, as well as making them pay for what they had done to this nation, and never to try it again. These two governors resigned with immediate effect, having zero hopes about the young presidential capabilities."

"But it’s okay. Nortasia is not shaken by their abandonment. I’m not shaken by their abandonment. And I still won’t back down and accept the deal. Nortasia will take down Icelandia and render them completely helpless. Trust me on that..."

Jayden noticed doubtful and cold looks after he said that, and then sighed.

He then continued.

"And if you don’t trust or believe in me... You can as well step down now. You are free to resign as governors at this point. Stand up if you are willing to resign, now."

With that order, four people stood up at once.

Three stood up right after, making it seven.

Before he could realize it, five stood up a moment later after some short hesitation, and it was surprisingly only two left.

"We are not going to stay and watch our state get burned to the ground. I won’t... Not under my rule," the Governor of Oscar State said with a dark look on his face.

Jayden nodded with a smile as he wasn’t shaken.

Soon, the twelve governors had to leave the conference room and it was only the two left.

The Governor of Minerva State, and the Governor of New Wiston.

What was the shock?

The current governor of New Wiston, the state where Jayden came from, was Mister Kurtis Vane.

Staring right at his eyes, Kurtis stated with a smile,

"I believe in you, Mister President. I always have."

Jayden gave him a soft diplomatic nod.

"Well then, congratulations Governor Kurtis and Governor Lucas."
