CHAPTER 45: OPTION, WARMTH

"You don’t need to worry, I have no intention of turning back on my word. I will be dealing with you guys later on. Find a place, I will come over myself." Michael responded to Steve’s words.

At the same time, he bent down, searched the pockets of one of the gangsters, before he took out a phone.

"Once you decide on a location, send it to me on this guy’s phone." Michael said as he showed the phone that he had taken to Steve.

At the same time, he looked at the gangster and told him, "Remove all the security settings that you have placed on this phone."

The gangster, who was still in pain while holding his right arm was terrified by Michael. Even when Michael took his phone away, he did not dare to resist.

Now, being told to remove the security settings that he had placed on the phone, even though he was reluctant, he still complied.

After everything was dealt with, Michael gazed at Steve who was silent all this while, and said, "I will not repeat myself. If you continue coming here to cause trouble instead of waiting for me, the consequences will be more than this small beating that you have received."

Steve felt quite humiliated, but he did not dare speak any longer. After all, the combat prowess that had been demonstrated by Michael was too overwhelming.

I will make sure that you understand, nobody can ever cross me, Steve. I will show you how much of a demon I can become...’ Steve continuously swore in his mind, as he continued glaring at Michael.

When he noticed that Michael seemed to be getting impatient, he finally snapped out of it.

He looked at the crooks that were on the ground, before snarling, "Get the f*ck up! Let’s go!"

After he said those words, he did not pay any attention to the gangsters that were scrambling from the ground, to follow him. For those that were in a worse condition, they were dragged away by the other gangsters.

After the gangsters left, there was a moment of silence that was interrupted by the ringing of Kate’s phone.

Kate looked at the screen of her phone, realizing that it was her mother who was calling.

She hesitated, wondering if she should receive the call or not. But in the end, she realized, she had to receive the call no matter what.

Initially, she wanted to ask her mother for help, in the situation that they were facing. But in the end, Michael was able to solve the problem all by himself.

It was just that, this was completely out of her expectation. So, while she was in a daze, watching as Michael dealt with the gangsters, her mother received the call.

Due to the screaming and the grunting around her, her mother was obviously worried, from how panicked she was previously.

Now, as she received the call, she took a deep breath, preparing an explanation.

"Kate, what’s going on there? Don’t tell me that you have gotten yourself involved in another brawl with gangsters?

I already told you to keep away from them! At least, even if you want to be a police officer, just deal with the ordinary criminals!

You know that I don’t want anything to happen to you. So, I have decided, you are coming back tomorrow. There is no further discussion on this matter, I have already made my final decision.

I will send someone to pick you up tomorrow, so, better be prepared." Kate’s mother did not give Kate a chance of explaining anything.

As soon as she received the call, her mother expressed her worry, before making a decision that made Kate tremble slightly.

She wanted to argue with her mother, but just from judging the tone that her mother was speaking to her in, it was clear, she had already made a decision.

While her mother usually gave in to many of her requests, when she made a decision, it was almost impossible to change her mind.

As the call ended, Kate was left there, stunned. She had not anticipated that her visit to the orphanage would turn out like this.

She did not regret coming over, as she had seen something that she had not anticipated. Additionally, no matter what, she would have still come over to help the kids here after hearing about what they were experiencing.

But now, as a consequence, she would have to go back before he dealt with Dante. This was so infuriating to her.

But as she looked at Michael, she thought, maybe there was a possibility of dealing with Dante before she left the following day.

If they could deal with Dante, her mind would feel more at peace. While it was true that there were more criminals within this city, but at least, she would have reduced them by one person.

Now, she was wondering, what method did Michael have that he wanted to use in order to deal with Dante?

Since Michael had been with the gang for 2 years, she believed that he was more informed about the gang as compared to her.

It was clear that Michael knew about Dante and the others having guns. Could it be that he also had a gun of his own? That was a possibility, but, the probability of that being true was extremely low.

Michael on the other hand watched as the gangsters left. And at this moment, he heard the cheering coming from the dormitory not far away.

It seemed, the children have been watching what was going on out here, and they were excited that Michael had dealt with the gangsters.

Those gangsters had left indelible marks in the hearts of the children within the orphanage. So of course, if they saw the gangsters that usually bullied them being dealt with, how could they not be happy about it?

At this moment, John, who had also been observing what was going on here from a distance, approached them. Rebecca followed him, as she had also come out of the building upon hearing the commotion happening outside.

He looked at Michael deeply, before he sighed. "Kid, you have grown up. But, you really don’t need to worry so much about us.

So, I hope that you can take the chance that they have gone away, to escape. Even if you cannot leave the city, at least find somewhere to hide for a while.

Michael could hear the concern that was contained in John’s voice as he spoke. Michael felt a warm sensation in his heart, as he realized, out there, there were some people that really cared about him.

John obviously knew about the consequences of Michael leaving. If those gangsters did not find Michael, they would vent all their anger on the orphanage.

But even then, he was willing to have Michael leave. If possible, he would have hoped for the children to leave as well, but it was not going to be that easy.

A group of children departing would obviously attract the attention of the gangsters. And, if they were caught escaping, their fate would be worse.

It was for this reason that he hoped that Michael could run away. With his combat ability, he should be able to escape.

"Grandpa, you don’t need to worry about this. I told you, I can take care of it. I will not allow them to continue bullying you.

Additionally, before, I told you that I have another plan. I thought, if you guys continue staying here, even if I deal with the shadow assembly gang, other gangsters will take over their place, and continue exploiting you.

So, I thought, it will be a good idea to take you guys out of this city. You can go to another city, where the criminal activity is not this high. Then, you can develop there." Michael spoke while patting the old man’s shoulder, trying to assure him.

Michael’s words puzzled them. They had not anticipated that Michael had this idea. In actual sense, it was a very good idea. It was just that, it was not easy to make it happen.

"Forget it. Your sincerity is already enough for us. Don’t worry, we can handle things on our own." Not wanting to burden Michael, John refused.

"Okay, let’s do this. I will deal with the shadow assembly gang first, after that, we will talk about this, how about that?" Michael thought for a moment before he asked.

The old man was about to persuade Michael not to look for Dante when suddenly, Kate spoke up.

She looked at Michael and asked with hope in her eyes, "Could you... Could you bring me along?"
