CHAPTER 516: CHAPTER 516 - ANOTHER MIGRATION

Once the list has been finalized, the people have immediately started to pack up their personal belongings for the move that will happen by the next day. The whole sanctuary was busy with loud activity even late into the night. The air was filled with air of excitement, happiness and a bit of uncertainty for the new home that they will go to.

It was almost midnight before the sounds of activity died down. The sanctuary gradually became silent as they all finally went to sleep to recharge for another busy day by tomorrow.

The next day by sunrise, the people that are set move are already awake. As I went around the plaza, I saw them making final checks on all the things that they will be bringing and also making sure the house that they will be living behind is in a livable condition to whoever will be using it next.

The whole sanctuary have all decided to keep the houses as they are so that in case new people came into the sanctuary, they will have a place ready for them to live in. The previous owners of the houses were also kind enough to leave some basic cooking tools and bedding for the future new owners of the homes they will be leaving behind.

Some of the people have also started making breakfast and this time, it is particularly feast-like since it was like a celebration of the move to their new forever home. After the delicious breakfast, the people have started to line up together with their belongings in the area of the plaza.

As usual, I left a few instructions and set expectations about what to happen next. I immediately set up a magic circle but did not move people just yet.

The move will follow the arrangement where the herbivores will go first, followed by the omnivores then the carnivores last. Laerad will be on the other side of the teleportation circle as their guide to their respective communities per tribe.

The move lasted the whole morning as I wanted to make sure that everyone will be able to settle themselves in their new homes on their own pace. I also do not want to tire out Laerad too much with the guiding task so I gave him enough time to take a breather in between the batches of beast men being sent to the new world tree realm.

At lunch time, the sanctuary was noticeably quieter due to the absence of most of the previous residents. The atmosphere became a little somber especially for those that chose to be left behind for their families that are not yet included for the move so the other had to chose to stay as well.

I would have loved to do something to perk them up but I also have to leave since my vacation time is quite limited. I met with whoever was left of the elders and the those that were newly assigned for instructions. I also reminded to always help those in need since the barrier will do the filtering for them, ensuring that the sanctuary is protected from those that are evil at heart.

After finishing the meeting, I walked towards the direction of the river where the only merman resident of the sanctuary lived. I had to carefully cross the river and knock on the door of his home to fetch the little drama queen.

As I knocked and the door, I started calling out, "Marius! It’s time to leave. Aren’t you done preparing your stuff for the trip yet?"

Nobody answered the door at first even if I have been knocking loud but I heard a series of thuds and also things falling down on the floor together with hurried footsteps that are going back and forth in the area beyond the doors.

I chuckled a bit, imagining him in a hurry and in panic trying to finish packing up as quickly as possible. I had to wait a few more minutes before the door finally opened with him looking sweaty and tired from whatever activity he is doing inside his home.

He then smiled at me in an awkward manner as he said, "Oh. You are here. Good morning and welcome to my humble home."

For some people, they think that this schedule of working is normal but for me that is seeing all of this for the first time, I couldn’t help but b amazed. Everybody seemed to have slowed down their aging and they found the fountain of youth.

As I went inside Marius’ home, I noticed how beautiful he designed his personal space but at the same time, every single thing has a specific use in his daily life. From what I see, he is quite skilled in arts and crafts as he have a lot of sculpted from wood or clay as well as weaved from leaves or sewn from animal hide. He us really someone who will find a way to survive anywhere.

He continued guiding me until we are inside the dining area. He offered me a seat and some snack and refreshments. The

There was silence and stillness in the room for several minutes. After who knows how long, he broke the silence by asking a simple question, "It is finally happening, huh?"

I looked at him straight in the eyes and replied, "Yes. It took quite sometime but I still came to fulfill that promise. How are we going to get there and how far is it?"

He sighed with a helpless smile and responded, "We just have to get to somewhere that has access to the ocean and we should be fine. The nearest one is in the southwest direction from here. It will take at least two days of nonstop walking to get there."

I slowly nodded my head and responded, " Good thing I brought that then. I like walking but not two day’s worth if it for sure."

After that short conversation, Marius started preparing for real this time. I even saw him preparing some sandwiches and snacks that he plans to bring for the trip.

Thinking that I was getting bored, he started talking again and did a little storytelling. He said that once we reached a beach by the ocean, we will swim downwards for about half an hour then we should be seeing traces of activity and the borders of Ceryneia.

He then continued that the beach on that side has access to the nearest side of the territory but it is also the most difficult one to use. He smiled but it did not reach his eyes as he said, "Who would have thought that I would be desperate enough to use this route just to live?"

I looked at him for a few seconds and I immediately understood that he did not willingly go to the land. I wonder what was his circumstances at that time but I don’t want to ask him just yet. Also, I wonder how difficult is the "difficult" he was talking about in terms of using that route.

After his preparation, I teleported him through the borders of the forest near Freyheimr since that is in the southwest side. From there, I took out my trusted carriage and two horses then we boarded that. I made sure to make the carriage and the horses look shabby again for safety purposes.

Marius was surprised in the series of events that took place from the teleportation to the sudden appearance of a carriage. It took him some time to compose himself and ask, "So you got those types of abilities, huh?"

I simply nodded my head and looked out of the carriage windows, enjoying the view. It has been several months since I rode the carriage for this long. I can also feel the excitement in the way my horses were running since they have not left Hoffen City for such a long time, three months to be exact.

The supposed two day long travel time by foot was reduced to about half of that with the use of a carriage with two outstanding and overly excited horses. The trip was that short even if we made sure to get ample rest and also eat during regular meal times.

After Marius’ initial shock of the various abilities that I have, he stopped himself from getting surprised any further and just accepted things as they are. With all the twists and turns, we finally arrived at that beach he was talking about by sunrise on the next day.

It has been quite a while since I saw the ocean. From where I am saying and even during my travels, I have only ever seen rivers, streams, lakes and waterfalls so it was quite novel to see the ocean after more than a year in this world.

I could not help but close my eyes and inhale the salty air coming from the ocean. As the sun’s rays started to light up the sky, I decided to just sit by the beach, quietly listening to the waves as they crash to the beach nearby.
