CHAPTER 532: CHAPTER 532 - PREPARING TO LEAVE CERYNEIA (PART 2)

Knowing that what I would be saying next could greatly affect the number of people that I can bring out of Ceryneia, I had no choice but to discuss with them the existence of Marahuyo, the temporary sanctuary that was created for all mystiques.

I also mentioned the existence of Sohmiren, the city that was recently built next to Sklavryet that allows businesses to thrive and for jobs to be given to anyone no matter which race they come from. It also boasts about keeping the security tight and its citizens safe. Finally, to seal the deal, I also hinted that Marius has connections to the being who is rumored to manage the new world tree realm.

Upon hearing the last bit of information, everybody’s eyes widened and they started looking at each other as if confirming if what they just heard and understood was correct. After a lot of hushed voices, discussing among themselves, and me addressing their questions, it seems like I have successful won everyone over.

The next thing they discussed is how they can all go to that sanctuary called Marahuyo safely since with the current number of interested parties, we are surely a big group. We also have to include the members of their immediate families, friends, their trusted staff that wanted to accompany their masters or bosses and their respective families that they want to bring out of the territory. They were also worried about how they can bring all of their valuables and the things they have worked hard for through all these years. I simply told them that I will give them some storage rings that can help them keep their things and the space should easily fit in everything that they need to bring. This has immediately lessened their worries.

As for leaving the territory, I told them that it has to be done as discreetly as possible so we planned that I will visit some of their stores today before sun down and help them move out of the territory through teleportation magic. As for the rest, I asked them to move to the address provided in the note which is a house in Ash City. They can just make an excuse that they are looking for slaves or laborers for their business which can also be a cover as to why their workshops and stores are empty and not in business for the later part of today.

The planning was made quite quickly since I am talking with quick-witted people. After confirming the next steps of the plan, everybody in the room went on their merry ways to prepare and do what they needed to do.

Before they left, I did not forget to give them some vegetables and fruits which will be their cover and plausible reason for their very early visit to the inn. They thankfully accepted the gifts and went on their way to pack up. Besides, I only gave them 3 short hours to pack everything they wanted to bring since most likely, they won’t be coming back in here in the future.

Lir and I went back to our room leisurely and I told him that I have one last person that I wanted to invite to leave the territory who wasn’t in the list. He looked at me with a knowing look and sighed. He then murmured, "That bastard would surely go with you. He is an opportunist, a profiteer and he hates this place the most."

Lir decided to let me visit the information office on my own to have a talk with Levi. I think he still hates the fact that I like the guy but at the same time has accepted the fact that it was not in a way that I wanted him to be a husband but more of a business apprentice or a business partner of some sort. He still hated seeing us together though so that just how it is.

I arrived at the information office after a few minutes and was immediately guided to Levi’s office by one of the staff at the reception. He was buried in stacks of paper with his eyebrows furrowed as he was reading one document after another. When he saw me coming through the door, his face immediately lit up as he stood up and invited me to have some snacks and refreshments with him. He was obviously excited about the fact that we will have a little chat.

As we sat on his comfy seats and finally started to have a little chat, I told him that I outright told him that I will be leaving Cobalt City later today and will be moving back to Ash City. I followed it by the fact that I plan to leave Ceryneia either tonight or early tomorrow morning to go back to my hometown. He looked stunned at the sudden turn of events then his looked a bit sad for some reason.

I knew he was sad that our little friendship was short. After a brief silence, he eventually asked, "When are you coming back to visit again?"

I simply answered that there was no concrete plan in the near future since I already finished what I needed to do here so far. This answer made him even gloomier than he was earlier.

After a bit of silence and eating more sweets, he finally asked, "Aren’t you going to ask me to come with you?" I smiled at him and replied, "Do you want to come with me and leave everything you worked hard for behind?"

He looked at me with furrowed brows and replied, "I’d rather leave now before I have even more things that I own since the first husband of my mother and her kid who is considered the heir are always eyeing everything I have. I barely got out of there unscathed when I decided to move here in Cobalt City. I brought all of my father’s things with me since I don’t want any of them to benefit his hardwork."

He sighed but a smile grazed his face as he added, "Besides, I have a secret agreement with my mother that if I find a way to leave this place, she will give me half of what she owns since she believes in my potential more than that heir of hers. It is just that she can’t move freely with the first wife and the first wife’s family hovering at almost everything she does so she can only continue pretending to be passive and uncaring towards me."

I chuckled and replied, "So you are using me to escape and get your inheritance. What will I get with helping you then?"

He smirked at me and replied, "We can be business partners as you have already seen my potential. I can even give you some of my money. Well, there is another way to own everything I have though..." He purposely made the last sentence up for imagination but I inmediately understood what he is trying to say.

Nope. This conversation is about to get out of hand!

I abruptly changed the topic by giving him a storage ring, a note with the address on where to go in Ash City and bid my goodbyes. It was unsuccessful though as he told me to wait for him instead for safety purposes.

He told me to wait inside his office while he packs up everything he owns and also explain to his staff about the sudden change of plans. I gave him a heads up that one of his staff has a connection with one of the princes which I found out accidentally on my first visit in the auction house. He gave me a meaningful smile signifying that he knew about it all along and excused himself with a promise of coming back in half an hour.

After half an hour, he came back proudly wearing the storage ring I gave him. He confidently smiled and told me that he has already told his staff briefly about the plan so they can decide quickly if they would follow him or nor. He also went to visit his mother to get his promised inheritance (showing the ring helped in speeding this up) and have completed in placing all that he owns from his previous and current homes inside the storage ring.

He then smiled helplessly as he told me, "I am now a man on the run. Once that evil man realized that I got half of my mother’s properties while his son has to get his share with 4 other children from my mother’s other husbands, she will go crazy, Can you help me leave this place as early as possible?"

I asked him what he plans to do with the almost fifty merfolks working as part of his staff for all his businesses and then he told me that most of them chose to stay because already have started families in Cobalt City. As for the few that will come with him, they are yet to get married and were with him since he was young, orphans he and his father took in and personally trained to be his business staff and close aides.
