Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!
Chapter 582 - The Return of the High Elf Race
CHAPTER 582: CHAPTER 582 - THE RETURN OF THE HIGH ELF RACE
I heard my father gasp loudly while my mother walked towards me. She smiled and greeted me, "Congratulations on re-establishing the high elven race."
I looked at my mother in confusion as I have not read anything about a separate race called high elves in any of the books in the palace. My mother smiled and pulled me to the side as she said that the race was elusive and books about them were rare but they definitely exist.
She started telling me that the high elf race is like the royal family of all elven communities. As for the last known high elves, they were last seen a few years before the great mystique war. As to what happened to the last of their members, my father and mother shared the same assumption. They were most likely betrayed and killed by their own kin to take over the power to control over the elven communities by force.
My mother said that she always loved having conversations with the high elves since they are a fair and compassionate bunch of old fogies. Their wisdom was profound and they would have never agreed to the evil experiments or the outright bullying done by their own kind towards the other races, much less a rebellion against the deity of the world tree realm and the beings of Eieneos who created this world.
I was curious as to how a member of the royalty with immense power can be killed. My mom gave me a knowing smile and responded, "The elves maintain historical records about the lives of their ancestors in some hidden place that only they know. It would surely include the strengths and weakness of their people but the problem is it can be used as a means to improve or end their lives depending on who is using that knowledge. Also, sadly, those who are the closest to you that you trust can use that weaknesses to get rid of you if your goals do not align anymore. The regular elves are mostly greedy, selfish, ungrateful and cold."
Based on how my mother worded her descriptions and stories, the reason for the high elf race’s demise was another power struggle, betrayal and a ton of greed. The traitorous normal elves must have lumped the high elves with the people of Eieneos and Laerad. They thought that the power should be given to them since the current leadership does not give the rest of the races their expected benefits.
My father suddenly interjected that the high elves were amazing beings as they see the truth and essence in everything but refuse to meddle with worldly things. They also have the ability to see a glimpse of the future. He said that these abilities and beliefs are contradictory though.
My father chuckled that even if those guys can see the future, they are not allowed to meddle when it comes to the decisions and actions of the other members of their race. He also said that most likely those old fogeys have already known that those evil members have planned to get rid of them but at the same time, they knew that there will be a way to revive their bloodline so they didn’t even make an effort to escape or save themselves.
I nodded my head and asked another question. This time, it was about how high elves were born since I noticed that most races have similar birthing processes and the only difference is the amount of mana needed to assist the pregnant father in getting through the whole thing smoothly.
My mother was the one that answered as she explained that there are no definite methods to birthing a high elf. As I thought, they were born the same way as regular elves.
She added that even if one has both high elves as parents, a non-high elf can still be born between them. It was the same as how two regular elf parents can suddenly give birth to a high elf child. Their existence is just magical and rare.
I tried to recall what happened earlier between me, Vaelion and the twins. I thought long and hard but the only thing I can think of was giving a kiss to my husband on the lips and a kiss on each of the foreheads of my elf babies. There was nothing special to it since I also kissed my other babies and husbands just the same so the question still remains, What seems to be different?
What makes it even weirder is that not only the children were converted. Even Vaelion who was technically a grown up was also converted.
This time, my father-in-law who was silently sitting on one side was the one who spoke. With a low voice he said, "There was a legend passed down to the elves about the existence of high elves. There was no proof that it was real and there are just too few cases to make it the truth. He then said that high elves are born out of unconditional love between a couple."
As I pondered on the legend, it seems that it does explain how the twins were converted. It does take unconditional love to marry an enemy, build a family and birth children with them. The problem is, it does not explain how the father was converted as well.
My mother suddenly spoke which successfully paused my pondering that is now giving me a headache. She said, "I think that is on you. You may have the rare ability to unseal bloodline limitations and sealed abilities. If every elf have the posibility of bejng a high elf, you simply max out the possibility which means all your elf children and husbands will be converted to high elves. Again, congratulations on re-establishing another lost bloodline."
I looked at my mother but instead of feeling happiness, I felt tired. If my blood or maybe this body itself has the rare ability that she was talking about, I think my life would even be less peaceful from now on.
I most likely have already changed Makisig, Sinag and Mithi too. Now that Vaelion has also given birth to our twins, it is just too late to turn back and there is no such a thing as undoing stuff that I have already done.
