CHAPTER 584: CHAPTER 584 - A LITTLE DOWN TIME BEFORE THE LAST HURRAH

After Vaelion gave birth to my new adorable set of twins, Nelaros and Maelian, I stayed a couple of days more with them just like how I did with Makisig just a few days back. I have to ensure that Vaelion is recovering well from the childbirth and that the twins are getting stronger by being fed enough and on time.

I asked my father-in-law once again to just stay permanently inside Tadhana with Vaelion to take care of his son and his two grandchildren. The house was big enough anyways so having him live there too is no big deal.

Sadly, he responded yet again that he could not stay as he still has to take care of other young elves as an elder back in the elven community. He also reiterated to me that since Vaelion is married, he has to stay in another home independently which is part of their tradition. They believe that elves have to leave their birth places and live alone to learn things about life, find someone to marry and to build their own lives with no meddling from their birth parents as much as possible.

I sighed and changed my proposal to him into accompanying Vaelion temporarily until he can move freely and take care of the twins on his own. With this proposal, he agreed instantly as if he was waiting for this offer to be mentioned from the start.

With that out of the way, I will be more at ease to leave Vaelion after a few days as my obligation as a wife and mother calls for it. There is indeed one more childbirth scheduled within the coming week as to which day it is, I will only know once the children telepathically tell me that they are ready to come out.

I continued spending some quality time with the husbands (both pregnant and those that just gave birth) during the day time, doing their chosen hobbies and having meals together. In the evening, I accompany Vaelion and sleep in his assigned home. I am also the one tasked to feed the babies every few hours together with my father-in-law so that Vaelion can sleep soundly throughout the night. I can communicate telepathically to the kids anyways so it is easier for me to know that they are awake and it is feeding time or change nappy time.

I also made quick visits to Eieneos every few days to get some updates about the human realm through the eyes of my four fiancès who are completing tasks as of now. For the first time, I heard that it seems like they have confirmed that there is stirring and discreet movements from the side of the dragon race.

My parents said that dragons have a way to know if new lives are born in this world. It was similar to the abilities of the deities but the dragons vehemently denied its existence or truth. My parents are sure that a seer was born from the dragon race within the last millenium but they could not confirm which particular this dragon is or if it was a male or a female.

The seer can see the past, present and future of all living beings in this world though they can only see a glimpse of it unlike the deities that have full access. This dragon kin was the one who is able to detect if a new life is born in this world and which race was it under.

I remember my father suddenly chuckling and revealing that the dragons must have known of the existence of my first set of twins but since they are from a human father who I eventually deified, they did not see it as that of a big deal. He chuckled louder and said that the current situation was different though. Now that pure-blooded mystique children are starting to be born one after the other, they won’t have a single peaceful day in their ranks from now on.

My mother smirked and added that those "lizards are desperate" but advised me to treat them the same way I have which means to totally ignore them. My parents are not being petty and I believe they have every right to avoid dealing with them.

As the memories that I have seen before showed me, the dragons turned a blind eye at the plight of Eieneos kigdom during the war several centuries ago so what makes them think that they can get help that easily now that the kingdom has been rebuilt. They should taste the feeling of being ignored as well.

My parents have always looked calm as they recounted things that happened in the past as if it has nothing to do with them but that doesn’t mean that they have forgiven or forgotten everything. Just as the elves and heralds started the war, the dragons let it continue due to their indifference which then led to the death of all Eieneans, destruction of the world tree realm, the fertility curse that made the whole world suffer and my parents having no choice but to be apart from me.

It is true that both decision or indecision has effects seen on one’s path to the future. One might think that being passive or indecisive saves you from the effects of a difficult situation but most likely, delaying things will worsen the effects for not only you but everyone who is involved in it.

So far, I have received the scale of the ice dragons together with an oath of allegiance and an offer of an alliance by bonding as mates. I hid all the items they sent in a separate realm to avoid being detected. As for my decision, I have none so I will leave them hanging indefinitely.

As for the rest of the dragon tribes, they seemed to have senses that one of the tribes must have made a move so not even a week after, I started getting gifts from the other dragon tribes as well. They sent a variety of items like precious gems and stones as well as gold and silver coins and bars as their kind have the habit of collecting those shiny things. As for my parents, they scoffed at the gifts and readily said that we are not short of these things and we do not need alms.

As for me, I would accept all the gifts in cash or in kind. It is not like I have to accept the beings that gave the gift anyways. I also don’t intend to return things that they sent over on their own free will. I have a growing family (rapidly growing actually) so I can never have enough money and resources in this life.
