Internet Breaking: The Powerful CEO Reveals His Supermodel Wife
Chapter 36: So Petty
CHAPTER 36: CHAPTER 36: SO PETTY
Ava’s eyes darkened.
Yi whispered as she observed her expression, "She came with a man, and I’ve found out he’s the second in command at Zenith Entertainment."
"And she’s also attending the show tonight."
Yi had been with Ava for several years and was someone Ava trusted.
She was well aware that Joyner was Ava’s arch-rival.
To call them enemies wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
Two years ago, Joyner had a hand in causing trouble, which made Joyner disappear from the public eye, even more thoroughly than Ava.
There’s no helping it; the woman’s shameless, utterly despicable.
No one thinks highly of her.
There’s no place for her in the modeling world anymore.
But now, she’s back.
Openly!
Ava’s lips suddenly curled up, "Is that so..."
Her face lit up with a smile, even those beautiful almond-shaped eyes were smiling.
But the smile was eerily terrifying.
Yi felt a shiver and wasn’t sure what Ava would do.
But recalling Ava’s usual way of handling things, she braved herself to say, "Sister Ava, I’ve looked into that second in command at Zenith Entertainment, and he’s not simple."
"If you confront her tonight, you might suffer a loss."
With backing or without, it makes a huge difference.
The reason Joyner can come back now, walk the S&U show, is all because of this man, isn’t it?
But Ava also has her backing, which is not smaller than that second in command at Zenith Entertainment.
However, Ava’s way has always been direct and rough, fearing she’d stir up trouble.
So, it’d better to endure, just endure.
"Oh."
Ava remained indifferent, her smile growing deeper, yet colder.
Yi didn’t dare say any more.
The party show was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. sharp, and it was now 4 p.m., so three hours remained.
Yet, this time wasn’t long for anyone, as everyone busied themselves, hurriedly busy.
Ava didn’t idle either, she went straight to the makeup room to get ready.
However, just as the door to the makeup room opened, someone inside appeared in sight.
A head of golden waves, dressed in a gold spaghetti-strap gown, she sat in her dedicated makeup chair, legs crossed, holding a lipstick, breaking it little by little.
Yi was dumbfounded, "My cosmetics!"
She rushed over, looking at the messy, completely ruined cosmetics on the dressing table, she burst into tears.
Ava stood there, unmoving.
Her gaze swept over the expensive cosmetics, powder scattered everywhere, eyebrow pencils, powder palettes, blushes, and eyeshadows, all mixed together, shattered, broken, not one usable.
Ava’s eyes landed on a face in the makeup mirror that had obviously undergone surgery, her expression calm, with no trace of emotion.
It was only when the person sitting in the chair noticed Yi did she seem to remember something and turned around.
Instantly, she had a smile on her face, "Ava, long time no see."
Joyner stood up from the chair, and with a click, the lipstick fell to the ground. She raised her foot, directly crushed the broken lipstick, grinding it into the floor.
Ava’s mouth curved into a smile, "Joyner, it’s been two years, and you’re still so despicable."
"You!"
At such a direct insult, anyone would get angry.
Joyner’s face, not as natural as before, immediately grew furious, and due to the high-tech manipulation, her face contorted instantly.
Ava lifted her foot, walking slowly over to stand before her, "Look at your face, what have you done to it, you look like a silicone ghost, it frightens me just looking at it."
"Ava Sterling!"
Ava flicked her long hair and turned toward the makeup table. Crossing one arm over her chest, she pointed to the damaged cosmetics, smiling faintly, "Pay up."
Now, Joyner laughed.
A laugh of triumph.
She lifted her chin high, saying smugly, "Which eye of yours saw me wreck it?"
"Oh, I admit this lipstick was damaged by me."
"I’ll pay for that lipstick, but as for the rest, don’t lay the blame without evidence, or I could sue you for defamation."
With that, she looked up at the makeup room’s ceiling, her smile becoming more and more unrestrained, "A supermodel like Ava’s independent makeup room is nice, with no surveillance."
"Privacy is well-protected."
With a victorious smile on her face, she glanced at Ava and then walked away.
But just as she lifted her foot, a sharp pain overwhelmed her scalp.
