Chapter 90 - 90 90 Fight on Sight 9 Updates
90: Chapter 90: Fight on Sight, 9 Updates 90: Chapter 90: Fight on Sight, 9 Updates Sun Wukong’s gaze swept over the several individuals, and with a slight smile, he retorted, “Macaque King, how do you know for sure that Old Sun isn’t intentionally waiting here for you?”
Upon hearing Sun Wukong’s words, the Barefoot Great Immortal burst into laughter, and with disdain, he said, “Impudent Monkey, do you think you’re the Jade Emperor?
Just a mere Celestial Immortal, do you really think you can defeat us if we join forces?”
“Hmm, Barefoot Great Immortal, do you not take this Immortal Maiden seriously?”
He Xiangu, in a fit of anger, retorted as she glared at the Barefoot Great Immortal, her lotus instantly lashing out.
No one expected the Immortal Maiden to have such a fiery temper, to strike as soon as she spoke.
The Barefoot Great Immortal, caught off guard, was struck and sent tumbling, his energy roiling.
“Useless.”
He Xiangu looked down on him with arrogance, contempt written all over her face.
Grinding his teeth, the Barefoot Great Immortal coldly said, “I’ll kill you, this Immortal Maiden.”
“Stop.”
The Macaque King barked an order.
The Barefoot Great Immortal, who had been about to strike, was forced to pull back.
Feeling indignant, he let out an angry snort.
Only then did the Macaque King turn around, his voice deep as he said, “Seventh Brother, we don’t wish for conflict with you.
I’m only hoping your Great Sage Sect will not continue to expand any further.”
“On what grounds?”
Sun Wukong countered.
The Macaque King’s eyes grew cold, his voice tinged with impatience, “Seventh Brother, I bear in mind the bond of brotherhood, which is why I have always been reluctant to clash with you.
I hope that you can understand Nihou’s feelings and not make things difficult for him.”
Sun Wukong couldn’t help but sneer mockingly.
“When you sent the Six-Eared Macaque to replace me, did you give any thought to brotherhood?
Now you’re talking to me about brotherhood.
Don’t you think that’s laughable?”
He Xiangu was taken aback.
The Six-Eared Macaque was actually dispatched by this Wind-Listening Great Sage Macaque King.
Just now, when He Xiangu heard the words of the Macaque King, she still thought him a decent person.
As for his opposition to Sun Wukong, it might have been solely due to allegiance.
Now, she lost all her good feelings towards the Macaque King.
The Macaque King was the type to shout about brotherhood yet continually stab his own brothers in the back.
Such a person was the most contemptible.
With a look of disdain, He Xiangu said to Sun Wukong, “Great Sage, why bother talking so much with such a heartless, treacherous scoundrel?
Upon meeting, just fight.”
“Exactly, what’s the point of wasting so much breath with him?
Life and death are trivial, just fight on sight.”
Sun Wukong laughed loudly.
He pulled out the Jingu Bang from his ear and charged straight into battle.
Seeing him take action, the Macaque King let out a sigh, “Brother, I truly did not want to fight you.”
However, his actions were anything but slow, as a golden staff appeared in his hands, blocking Sun Wukong’s attack.
Then, the Macaque King swung his staff towards Sun Wukong’s head.
Looking at how he fought, there wasn’t the slightest hint of brotherly love.
The golden fires in Sun Wukong’s eyes flickered, his mana surged, and he went all out in his attack.
Clang.
The two clashed dozens of times in succession, leaving the Macaque King feeling weak all over, and his weapon nearly flew out of his grip.
Seeing him at a disadvantage, Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva joined the fray, assisting from the sidelines, besieging Sun Wukong.
The Barefoot Great Immortal, meanwhile, set his sights on He Xiangu.
He sneered and said, “The Eight Immortals possess profound mana and vast magical powers.
Today, I shall engage in a good exchange with you.”
He Xiangu scoffed coldly, as the lotus in her hand swept out, a beam of Immortal Light flying forward, blocking the Barefoot Great Immortal.
With pride, she declared, “Afraid of you?
Not at all.”
The two began to fight, using the methods of the Immortal Clan, unlike the ferocious melee between Sun Wukong and the others.
He Xiangu and the Barefoot Great Immortal each exhibited their divine skills, standing at a distance and bombarding their opponents.
Although she was a Celestial Immortal, she had fought numerous battles in the Eight Immortals’ quest to slay demons and exterminate evil, and her tactics were in no way inferior, momentarily putting the Barefoot Great Immortal in a position of being suppressed.
The Barefoot Great Immortal was going mad.
If he couldn’t even defeat a female immortal, he really would have no face to see anyone.
But now it seemed that there indeed was a trend of him being defeated by He Xiangu.
He Xiangu gradually overpowered him, forcing him into utter disarray as he started to dodge and evade.
In such a state, it was clear he wouldn’t last much longer.
“Waste.”
The Macaque King roared, what a piece of garbage Barefoot Great Immortal, possessing such a grand reputation yet unable to take down He Xiangu.
With one swing, he smashed his staff towards He Xiangu, the golden rod carrying immense mana.
He Xiangu didn’t dare to take the hit head on and in a flash, she unleashed more than a dozen strands of mana to intercept the Macaque King’s astonishing strike.
The Macaque King’s attack was blocked, but He Xiangu also lost her advantage, allowing the Barefoot Great Immortal to make a comeback.
His face was flushed red, feeling for the first time the gap between himself and a true powerhouse.
His own efforts were inferior to a casual strike from the Macaque King.
Sun Wukong’s gaze turned icy as he too found an opening to strike the Barefoot Great Immortal with his staff.
The Barefoot Great Immortal couldn’t defend against his attack, and by the time he reacted, he was already sent flying by the blow.
Pfft.
His body exploded, spreading finally to his neck, almost obliterating his head as well.
If his head had also shattered, it surely would have impacted his primordial spirit, and he would have truly been killed.
The strength of Sun Wukong was so fearsome that he almost killed him with one blow.
Only a head was left of the Barefoot Great Immortal, his soul grievously threatened, he abandoned everything to flee in panic.
He Xiangu paid no heed to him and charged towards Samantabhadra Bodhisattva.
Samantabhadra Bodhisattva let out a cold huff and a Wisdom Sword appeared in his hand, slashing towards He Xiangu.
With lotuses shimmering in her hands, He Xiangu blocked the blow, but she too was pushed back several steps.
“The Macaque King and I will hold off Sun Wukong, Samantabhadra, go defeat He Xiangu without any mercy,” said the voice of Manjushri Bodhisattva.
Samantabhadra Bodhisattva left the fray; he aimed to defeat He Xiangu in the shortest possible time.
He Xiangu laughed coldly; she, a top-tier Celestial Immortal, one of the Eight Immortals of the Upper Grotto, had nothing to fear from a Bodhisattva, did she?
Many people were under the misconception that Bodhisattvas were supreme, with boundless magical power.
In truth, that applied specifically to The Bodhisattva Guanyin and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
The Bodhisattva Guanyin, known as Dharmaraja Buddha, was Buddha herself.
Her status in the Heavenly Court was not inferior to that of Tathagata Buddha.
In the Heavenly Court, status was a symbol of strength.
However, Manjushri and Samantabhadra did not receive such treatment.
Though they too were called Great Bodhisattvas, they were merely top Celestial Immortals.
Any one of the Eight Immortals was not weaker than them.
He Xiangu faced him without a trace of fear.
Having blocked his Wisdom Sword, He Xiangu unleashed her Thunder Skills, with purple thunder descending and causing Samantabhadra Bodhisattva’s whole body to quiver.
Enraged, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva also exerted his skills, using Demon-Subduing Divine Skills that transformed into a Demon-Subduing Pestle and smashed down on He Xiangu from above.
He Xiangu’s body was enveloped in Immortal Light as she infused mana into the lotus, producing myriad blossoming lotuses around her in the void, blocking Samantabhadra’s strike.
Then, the lotuses enveloped the Demon-Subduing Pestle and rapidly devoured it.
Samantabhadra Bodhisattva turned pale as his divine skill was broken, suffering backlash from it.
“Bring out whatever skills you have; if I don’t beat the crap out of you, then I’m not He Xiangu,” He Xiangu said fiercely.
