CHAPTER 96: CHAPTER 96: SAVING THE BEAR AND THE PIG【REQUESTING RECOMMENDATION TICKET】_1
Actually, Fairy Yunyao didn’t quite understand what Chen Sha, in his clone form, was really up to.
However, her main purpose was to protect Chen Sha, so whatever he did, she would support him completely.
「In the prison」
Only Chen Sha, the Black Bear Demon, and Tianpeng remained.
Tianpeng had been watching Chen Sha intently, observing his conversations with the demons. He realized Chen Sha actually wanted to interrogate him alone. Moreover, Chen Sha seemed to have a unique method, presumably to torture a confession out of him.
Tianpeng had been cursing and swearing nonstop.
"You pretty boy, don’t come over here! Get lost! Do you know who I, your elder, am? If you dare mess with me, I’ll kill you!"
"I am Marshal Tianpeng of the Heavenly Court! If you lay a finger on me, I won’t let you off once I get out!"
"Brother, brother, please spare me this time! Next time I’ll treat you to a drink..."
Tianpeng cursed and swore, but seeing it was useless, he began to beg for mercy.
Chen Sha approached step by step, while the Black Bear Demon, tortured into a wreck, was utterly exhausted. However, he also kept an eye on Chen Sha, maintaining a low profile for fear of being targeted.
Chen Sha said, "Idiot, keep yelling and I’ll cut your tongue out."
Tianpeng was startled and hurriedly shut his mouth. Then, his eyes widened. Who on earth would call him an idiot like that?
Chen Sha was setting up an array, simultaneously using his Heavenly Vision to scan the surroundings. Finding no anomalies, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Tianpeng asked, "Who are you?"
He had already sensed something was off.
Chen Sha ignored him. Instead, he took the keys from the wall and directly unlocked the Black Bear Demon’s cell door.
The Black Bear Demon struggled to his feet, the iron chains around him rattling loudly.
He watched Chen Sha warily, his voice hoarse. "Who are you? What do you want?"
Chen Sha said, "I’m Chen Sha. Someone should have asked you to find me."
When the Black Bear Demon heard this name, it felt both unfamiliar and yet strangely familiar. Upon hearing the latter part of the sentence, his eyes widened dramatically. He gasped, tears instantly welling in his eyes.
"You... you... you’re the one the Master is looking for..."
Chen Sha put a finger to his lips, signaling him not to reveal any heavenly secrets.
The Black Bear Demon was sharp. After the initial joy came vigilance. He even cast a cautious glance at Tianpeng.
Chen Sha didn’t intend for them to know each other’s identities, as Tianpeng was very likely to blabber it out.
He stepped forward to unlock the Black Bear Demon’s shackles. Even after being freed, the Black Bear Demon still found it hard to believe.
"Did the Master send you?" the Black Bear Demon whispered.
Chen Sha nodded. "I’ve been overseas, but he was able to get the message to me."
The Black Bear Demon was utterly astounded.
Truly worthy of being the Master! This wasn’t just sending messages across a thousand li; this was leaving messages through the void itself! Has he truly become that powerful? It seems I haven’t followed the wrong person!
Chen Sha said, "You haven’t said anything. Very good."
The Black Bear Demon figured Chen Sha was likely an emissary or representative of Sha Chen. Hearing such praise, he immediately puffed out his chest.
POUND! POUND! POUND!
He pounded his chest resoundingly and boasted, "I, Old Bear, will never betray the Master!"
Then he began to brag, "I’ve been tortured here for years and haven’t shed a single tear!"
Tianpeng scoffed from the side, "You were knocked out most of the time. How could you cry?"
The Black Bear Demon snorted, "Even while being tortured, I didn’t make a single sound!"
Tianpeng retorted, "You were unconscious. How could you have made a sound?"
The Black Bear Demon’s face darkened. "I have not let the Master down!"
This time, Tianpeng said nothing.
Chen Sha patted the Black Bear Demon’s arm. "Alright, I know you’re brave. Your Master will reward you."
The Black Bear Demon was overjoyed. He then looked towards Tianpeng, then back at Chen Sha. His gaze changed. He made a throat-slitting gesture and said, "My lord, shall we... take care of him?"
Tianpeng was scared witless and shouted, "Escaping without me is one thing, but now you want to kill me too? Just you try it! I’ll scream! I really will! Then none of you will get away!" He looked as if he was about to scream at the top of his lungs.
The Black Bear Demon clenched his fists, ready to lunge forward and punch him.
Chen Sha stopped him. "Don’t attack. Marshal Tianpeng is from the Heavenly Court, a man of unyielding integrity. He shouldn’t die here."
Tianpeng was suddenly overjoyed and nodded quickly. "That’s right! I am Marshal Tianpeng, a man of unyielding integrity!"
"Spare me, Immortal Elder, spare me! If we escape together, our chances of success will be much greater!"
Chen Sha, wanting to tease him, asked, "Have you said anything you shouldn’t have?"
Tianpeng replied, "Not at all! My lips are tighter than my Nine-Tooth Rake is hard!"
Then he began to brag, "Back in the day, hundreds of demons surrounded and attacked me, just me alone! I didn’t fall, nor did I flee."
The Black Bear Demon mocked from the side, "That’s because they tied you to a post to beat you."
Tianpeng, unfazed, declared, "At least I wasn’t knocked unconscious! I am still Marshal Tianpeng, a man of unyielding integrity!"
Chen Sha said sharply, "Alright, stop arguing! Let’s figure a way out of here."
The Black Bear Demon and Tianpeng finally composed themselves, but then looked troubled, unsure how they would escape.
Chen Sha said, "You should both know transformation techniques. Use your hair to create a duplicate of yourselves."
The bear and the pig’s eyes lit up. Each plucked a strand of hair, blew on it, and instantly, a duplicate of themselves appeared. Their strengths had both advanced considerably; they had actually reached the Greater Primordial Golden Immortal realm.
Even Chen Sha couldn’t tell the difference between the duplicates they created and their real bodies. After all, his own cultivation was too low. Moreover, this body was just a clone, possessing only ordinary Heavenly Vision, not the Illusion-Breaking Divine Eye.
The bear and the pig transformed their true bodies into two rings, which Chen Sha slipped onto his fingers. He then restored everything in the cell to its original condition.
Only then did Chen Sha clap his hands, signaling the demons and Fairy Yunyao outside to enter.
When the demons entered, they immediately checked on Tianpeng and the Black Bear Demon. Seeing nothing amiss, they breathed a sigh of relief.
The Great Rat Demon approached with a sycophantic smile, "Immortal Elder, did you manage to find anything out?"
Chen Sha stated matter-of-factly, "No, I found out nothing."
The Great Rat Demon’s cheek twitched, and he sucked in a sharp breath. How can this fellow be so utterly useless, yet so brazenly self-assured?! Well, an Immortal Elder is an Immortal Elder, after all.
He hastily tried to smooth things over for Chen Sha. "It must be that these two scoundrels are too stubborn! I’ll vent the Immortal Elder’s frustration for him right now!" He was about to order his men to give the Black Bear Demon’s and Tianpeng’s duplicates a vicious beating.
Chen Sha quickly stopped him, fearing the beating would expose the duplicates. "There’s no need. I’ve already tortured them. If they’re beaten again, they might die, and that’s not what your Great King wants to see."
Hearing this, the demons indeed stopped.
Chen Sha then said, "The banquet is about to begin. I should go and offer my congratulations."
Then he turned and left haughtily.
The demons respectfully escorted him to the prison gate. Only after Chen Sha was out of sight did they each hawk a thick wad of phlegm onto the ground.
"Pah! What rubbish!"
"He found out absolutely nothing, yet he still puts on such airs!"
The Great Rat Demon snorted coldly, full of disdain.
Suddenly, a subordinate demon’s eyes lit up. "Brother, the Immortal Elder is back!"
THUD!
The Great Rat Demon spun around, contorted his hips, and promptly fell to his knees, kowtowing like mad as he said with a fawning smile, "Immortal Elder, did you perhaps forget something?"
When he looked up, however, he saw nothing at all. He looked confusedly at his subordinate.
The subordinate demon said awkwardly, "My mistake. That was just a patrolling Zao Li."
The Great Rat Demon’s face darkened like a thunderhead. He rose, reached out, and grabbed the subordinate, ignoring his desperate pleas and cries. He dragged the subordinate into a cell and began to feast heartily.
The other demons shivered in terror.
