CHAPTER 1406: ERUPTION OF MIRACLES

VRRRRRRROOOOOM!

Captain Gallop kept his hands tight around the ship’s steering wheel as he channeled every single last ounce of [Chaos] and aether in his body into the spaceship as he continued ramming it into Dante’s abdomen.

This infusion caused the whole vessel to become surrounded by a rainbow of energy that fluctuated between a variety of hues and tints that was mesmerizing to look at.

Combined with the aura of pure [Romance] radiating off of it, one couldn’t help but think that this spaceship was something out of a fantasy...which it technically was.

[Grrrrr...this feeling...its...sickeningly positive!] Dante growled as he focused all of his [Chaos] in his stomach as a means of opposing the force pressing down on it. Granted, that was easier said than done due to everything happening inside and out.

The false Kaijin Lord’s body was already under extreme pressure due to Arabalest’s "unexpected" rebellious spirit when he absorbed his essence. Combining that with Captain Gallop ramming the ship directly into the former’s abdomen and the infusion of energy he was doing to turn the vehicular assault into a vehicular-based [Chaos] art, the pain Dante was being subjected to at this point in time was excruciating at minimum and mind-shattering at worst.

Despite the pain and pressure, though, Dante was still able to put up some fairly strong resistance.

Making use of his amorphous body, Dante manifested multiple arms to try and push against the spaceship crushing against his stomach. Surprisingly, this effort actually worked.

Dante was hit with a wave of relief as he alleviated the pressure being pressed against his abdomen.

[HA!]

Unfortunately, Dante failed to realize something incredibly important about this spaceship.

[Huh...] Captain Gallop trailed off as he noticed Dante’s herculean effort. [Well, looks like it’s time for me to actually turn on the thrusters.]

[Fucking what?!]

From Dante’s perspective, he saw that Captain Gallop was making a series strange hand motions behind a glass panel that caused his skin to crawl out of fear and worry.

From Captain Gallop’s perspective, he was overlooking a complex control panel that controlled every single aspect of the ship, down to the window wipers, the exhaust, and the incredibly powerful engines that had enough force behind them to make the average atomic bomb look like nothing more than a flashbang grenade.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Captain Gallop had to make sure not to exert too much power early on as to prevent turning the inside of the [Mines of Malevolence] into a makeshift tandoor.

[Just need to press this button, dial this back, and PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL!]

Once he had the settings right, Captain Gallop made the spaceship thrust forward with so much force that Dante’s arms essentially splattered into nothingness. If they had any bones in them, they would be shooting out of his elbows by now, and he would be resembling a mutilated chicken. However, he did lose several more [Cores] when the ship impacted his abdomen again.

Instead, Dante found himself being forcefully pushed up into the roof of the [Mines of Malevolence] and was just about to be splattered against it... at the cost of extreme collateral damage.

Wait...

[Have you gone mad, oh great captain?!] Dante roared in a desperate attempt to have the spacefaring kaijin put a stop to his ship’s charge. [If you smash me into the roof, you’ll bring this whole fucking mine down! I don’t mind killing everyone in here and then myself, but you’ve shown yourself time and time again as someone who gives a shit about other people’s well-being! Or at the very least, the people that compose you have a bad case of suicidal empathy!]

Technically speaking, Dante was telling the truth that slamming him through the mine’s ceiling would definitely cause the whole place to collapse.

But the squishy idiot forgot to take into account a very important detail: Captain Gallop wasn’t alone.

[You do remember that two of my fellow kaijin consisted of a living fireball and a warrior woman made of molten rock and jade?] Captain Gallop asked with a sarcastic tone of voice. [Pop quiz, asshole: what happens when stone gets superheated?]

[Huh? That’s a stupid question. When stone gets hot enough it...oh fuck.]

By the time Dante realized that he had been outsmarted, it was too late.

Dante could already feel the sensation of molten rock melting and breaking against his wings.

[AAARRRGGGGHH!]

Not only that, but he feel that there were these weirdly heat resistant rocks that were mixed into the magma and were acting like pieces of shrapnel that tore apart his wings like crazy.

Needless to say, this sensation was quickly followed by an absolute tsunami of pain that made Dante feel like he was being cooked alive and torn to shreds at the same time.

And little did the bastard know, he was about to experience this pain more than once...assuming his body didn’t carbonize during the ride up.

[I know you’re probably going to be cursing my name all the way up, but do try to remain conscious,] Captain Gallop told Dante as he continued to fiddle with the spaceship’s controls. [And if you have anyone to blame for this moment, blame yourself.]

[YOU MOTHERFUCKER!]

[Inaccurate, I have yet to hook up with anyone that can considered a mother, nor have I made anyone I’ve been with into a mother...although, some of my components have plans to fix that later...]

[GAH!]

...Meanwhile, a little further up the mountain...

[Is that the last layer of rock?]

[Seeing as we’re currently on the very top of this shitty mountain mine? Yes.]

[Oh thank Chaos.]

Nepherage and Blazejudicator had worked practically double time to make sure that the path out of the mountain was soft enough that Captain Gallop’s ascent wouldn’t cause the damn thing to collapse.

At worst, there was going to be a weirdly long, weirdly smooth tunnel that could attributed to rampagaging aether warriors...which was technically true.

Regardless, now that they were done digging and melting, the two kaijin decided to take a break right there and then.

[I think this is the longest I’ve been outside of the Executor’s head in a while,] Blazejudicator shared with Nepherage. [Honestly, not a big fan. I think prefer being inside him.]

[Phrasing,] Nepherage teased. [Sounds like you still got bits of Paralust inside you.]

[Well I am technically—wait a minute, who are those guys?]

[Better question, why do feel so familiar?]

As the two kaijin conversed to kill time, they soon found themselves joined by two familiar strangers.

To be more precise, they found themselves being joined by a pair of butlers that were clearly inhuman in nature.

One of the butlers reminded the kaijin of a fox, more specifically, that strange enigmatic fox that led them to the initial secret base for the rebel army, and would later act as an omen for the group multiple times.

As for the other butler, he gave off the same feeling as that strange box-sheep that would show up now and again with food and other supplies for the rebel army when things got tricky when it came to securing such things.

Needless to say, Blazejudicator and Nepherage were a little shocked at the appearance of this duo.

[Excuse me,but is this where the captain and our prince is going to be exiting the cavern?] the sheep butler asked in order to break the ice.

[Yes,] Nepherage answered bluntly.

[Ah, excellent.]

After having been given the confirmation, the sheep butler immediately sat down.

[Wait a minute, did you just say prince?] Blazejudicator immediately followed up once the question fully processed in his head. [What prince? Who?]

[Why, the little prince who had been used by Dante as a furnace for all of his vicious monsters, of course,] the fox butler followed up as he joined his sheep-like companion on the ground. [The one that the true Kaijin Lord is currently wielding the power of as a means of ascending back into space.]

[By the way, we must truly thank the lot of you for going through all of this,] the sheep butler continued once the fox butler said his piece. [This isn’t the first time we tried to help the people rebel so we could free our beloved Prince, but this is the first time that our efforts actually bore effective fruit.]

[Who knew that we needed another Kaijin Lord to beat one?]

[Right?]

Confused by the words of the two butlers, Nepherage and Blazejudicator simply stared at the duo in stunned silence.

Well, for a couple of seconds anyways.

As they sat, they could feel that Captain Gallop was mere moments away from breaking through the mountainside and was all set to ascend to the stars.

And what a time to ascend, since it was the dead of night and a full moon was illuminating the whole region.

[Welp, sounds like our captain is about seconds away from breaking through,] Nepherage sensed through the ground. [Should we evacuate or hitch a ride?]

[Probably the latter, since that’s probably their plan too,] Blazejudicator answered while gesturing to the butlers.

[It is.]

[Banging.]
