King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 127 - 127 122 Standby
Chapter 127: Chapter 122: Standby Chapter 127: Chapter 122: Standby “No need to look, all of your equipment has been destroyed, except for the Space Ring,” the Elf Elder said, observing the Swordsman who was fiddling with a pile of “rubbish” while sitting cross-legged on a tree trunk.
Muria examined the pile of metallic debris before the Swordsman, recognizing here and there what seemed to be rings, amulets, necklaces and other adornments. The remaining Spirit Runes confirmed that these were all defensive equipment.
The equipment seemed to be of high-level, possibly of legendary level, a realisation which made Muria’s heart ache slightly. All these legendary pieces of equipment were now nothing more than a pile of junk.
“The Space Ring is still intact.” Ron, the Swordsman, rummaged through the pile of metal fragments and brought out a tarnished ring to adorn his finger. “My gear may be destroyed, but I am still alive, everything lost can be reclaimed.”
All the legendary armour had been destroyed, yet the Space Ring had survived? Muria was stunned for a moment, then realised that under the attack of Titan Yashiburn, all the defensive equipment had been activated to sustain the attack along with the Swordsman.
The Space Ring was an exception, as it contained most of Ron’s personal property, which meant that during the attack it had been protected. As the ring was so small, it ended up being the only piece of equipment that remained unscathed.
At that moment, Swordsman Ron pulled out a robe adorned with Spirit Runes from the Space Ring and put it on. Then, with a “clang!”, a Long Sword surrounded by white light appeared in his hand, gently vibrating.
“The legendary robe ‘Thought of Truth’, the legendary War Sword ‘Glory of Light’; truly befitting the first Swordsman.” Upon seeing the Long Sword that the Swordsman had taken from the Space Ring, the Elf Elder uttered the names of the robe and the sword. “Even the backup Long Sword and robe are of legendary level.”
Legendary equipment is far less in number than legendary beings. Because if one can achieve legendary status, the next step is to become an everlasting deity. At this level, very few materials can contain their power, and even fewer materials can enhance it.
Therefore, many legends do not even possess one piece of equipment that matches their level, and most are basically naked. A rather miserable situation. Every piece of legendary equipment is a statement to the world, especially mildly old pieces of equipment; everyone with a modicum of knowledge knows about them.
Swordsman Ron, the man who, when Muria had first met him, seemed simple and poor. Every piece of clothing he wore, the Long Sword in his hand, even the seemingly insignificant adornments, all were legendary pieces of equipment.
Of course, the crucial point was that after the destruction of his equipment in the battle against the Titan, Swordsman Ron could still take out spare legendary equipment.
“I was so wrong!” Muria couldn’t help but cover her eyes. For the first time, Muria felt that she had let down her race, the Giant Dragons. Assessing the value of items was a basic skill that every Giant Dragon should master. And she had initially thought that this Swordsman was “simple.”
A simple Swordsman, indeed. It was perfectly normal for a Swordsman to have such riches. He had defeated so many legendary beings throughout his lifetime. Just the remains of those fallen legends would represent a staggering wealth, not to mention the wealth those legends had possessed themselves. All these combined, it was understandable why the fortune the Swordsman had was tenfold that of an average legend.
“…” After swaying the legendary Long Sword “Glory of Light” a few times, Swordsman Ron frowned slightly. It wasn’t his usual Long Sword, which therefore didn’t feel as handy.
But there was no other choice, his original sword had been destroyed. If he wanted to repair it, he would have to ask the Dwarf King for help. For now, he would have to make do with the “Glory of Light”. After all, attacking with a legendary Long Sword made a world of difference compared to attacking without one.
“Are you that Titan Teenager?” After trying out the gripping feeling, Swordsman Ron sheathed the Long Sword in his hand and turned to look at Muria, recognising Muria instantly with one glance, just like the Elf Elder, not affected by the drastic change in Muria’s stature at all.
“I am, Your Excellency.” Muria nodded, somewhat troubled as she pondered how to voice her request.
“Mr. Swordsman, this fellow wants to ask you about that legendary sea monster corpse you left behind. He wants to know how you want to deal with it.” Before Muria could finish her thought, the silver-haired Elf girl blurted out Muria’s purpose.
“A legendary sea monster corpse?” The Swordsman was taken aback for a moment.
“It’s the corpse of the legendary sea monster you left on my island.” Seeing the slightly confused look on the Swordsman’s face, Muria reminded him.
“I see.” The Swordsman nodded, “You can dispose of the sea monster’s remains as you wish. There is no need to consult me.”
“It’s mine!” Now it was Muria’s turn to be taken aback. A legendary creature’s remains, its bones, blood, flesh … even a single strand of hair, was worth an absolute fortune.
“You introduced me to a powerful Titan.” The Swordsman smiled briefly, with a hint of bitterness. “This battle has brought me so much satisfaction. Consider the sea monster’s remains as your reward.”
“A reward!” Muria scratched her head with embarrassment. “Isn’t this too much?”
As for arranging the meeting with the legendary Titan Yashiburn, she didn’t do much. Everything was handled by Cassio. She was just listening to Cassio telling stories, and when the time came, she watched the battle. She basically didn’t make much effort. Therefore, Muria felt undeserving.
Salvador, the Elf Elder, and the Silvermoon Elf girl Hesel, who were standing by, both looked surprised when they saw that Muria didn’t accept the Swordsman’s gift right away.
“Do not refuse it, those sea monster’s remains are of no use to me.” The Swordsman explained straightforwardly after seeing Muria’s refusal. “Keeping them would just occupy my Space Ring.”
“The body of a legendary creature, of no use to you?” Muria said in disbelief, “Its skin and bones can be used to make legendary equipment.”
“It’s just a lower rank legendary monster, it can’t make any high-level legendary equipment,” the Swordsman said indifferently. The disdain in his voice was undisguised; he didn’t care in the slightest about this monster that he had killed with one strike, so he threw it to Muria.
“If you say so, then I will take it.” Hearing the Swordsman’s words, Muria no longer insisted. Since the Swordsman had said so, she didn’t need to be polite.
“Uh-huh.” Looking at the Swordsman, whose face had returned to calmness, Muria gritted her teeth. “Mr. Swordsman, I have a request.”
