Chapter 205: Mingzhu has a loose tooth.
CHAPTER 205: MINGZHU HAS A LOOSE TOOTH.
Jingzhe joined them after Mingzhu had gone to sleep, cradling Mei Mei. He kissed her on the cheek and put his hand on her waist. She turned her head and kissed him on the chin.
"Goodnight, mommy duck." He whispered to her.
Mei Mei laughed softly, trying to muffle the sound so that she would not wake her daughter. She turned her head upwards and Jingzhe raised his upper body. His face hovered over hers.
He leaned down and kissed her on the lips. The brief kiss was not enough so he did it again and with a little more force this time.
"A Zhe," She turned her head when he seemed to be becoming more excited. "The child is in bed with us."
"I know." He touched his forehead to hers. "I am not going to do anything." He laid back down properly and she turned her body around to embrace Mingzhu again.
"Goodnight." She whispered to him.
A Zhe smiled. How he wished that she would soon add soon the words daddy duck to then end of her good night wishes. She was mommy duck, he was daddy duck and Mingzhu was baby duck. They all wore sunglasses.
Jingzhe fell asleep to the images of the three of them as ducks, swimming in one of the ponds at Mei Mei’s space camp.
She fell asleep to the thought that the three of them were so intimate, like one little happy family.
The next morning, Mingzhu was the first to wake up. Even when she was half asleep, she smelled the familiar scent of her mother and reached out for her. Her legs and hands were like octopus limbs, seeking to climb the great ship that was her mother, Jun Meilin.
But as she was climbing, she realized that her mother had extra limbs and she opened her eyes wider. Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes and looked around. To her shock, her new daddy was also in bed with them. His hand was on her mother’s waist and it was the extra limb her feet had touched.
"Daddy," she squealed and frog leaped onto Jingzhe.
Her sharp knees hit the side of his waist which was facing upward and startled him awake.
"Shhh." Jingzhe he put a finger to his mouth and whispered to Mingzhu, "Don’t wake your mother. Let’s go, I will help you brush your teeth and wash your face."
Mingzhu was glad to be carried out of bed rather than being made to walk. She clung to Jingzhe, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Daddy, no bath."
An unwitting laugh escaped Jingzhe’s mouth. Whatever taking baths had done to offend Mingzhu, nobody knew. They just knew she bargained like a dog each time she heard the word bath. But unlike dogs that could occasionally dodge bathing, she did not have such luck.
"Mommy will decide on that. I am simply the brush your teeth and wash your face guy." He told her.
He would never give Mingzhu a bath without Mei Mei’s permission. He did not want to make her uncomfortable by taking liberties she had not given. Manager Gao had told him to be very careful when it came to such things to avoid people assuming he was being inappropriate.
"Daddy, I have a loose tooth." Mingzhu shared with him.
She opened her mouth to show off the tooth that was just beginning to wiggle. It seemed she would soon be loosing her front teeth. Jingzhe made a mental reminder to search for foods appropriate for a child losing her central incisors.
He also smiled, looking very much forward to Mingzhu’s adorable gap toothed grins. He would take lots of pictures to save for the future. On the day she married, he would bring them out and watch her crumble in disbelief and huffing as she complained that her father had embarrassed her in front of her husband.
Maybe it was better to pull them out on the day she would bring home her first boyfriend. She would probably run up to her bedroom and slam the door. The ideas made him laugh and they made him look forward to a very dramatic future.
After they brushed their teeth and washed their faces, he carried her downstairs. The servants, his mother and the elders of the Jun family had returned.
"Grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, grandma Feng, grandpa, Chen mama, Yinuo, Susu,..." Mingzhu called everyone that she met, greeting them and showing off her shaking tooth. "Look, the tooth fairy is going to visit me and leave lots of money under my pillow."
"How much lots of money are we talking?" Madam Feng asked her.
Mingzhu let go of Jingzhe’s shoulders and she spread her arms out as wide as they could go. "Daddy has said this much."
Madam Feng looked at Jingzhe sternly, one eyebrow shooting up curiously and her eyes daring him to mention a ridiculous amount of money. She had a spatula in her hand and it would double as a slipper if he mentioned the wrong amount.
"One million yuan." Jingzhe muttered.
The spatula was raised. Everyone moved away to avoid falling victims to the ass whooping.
Grandma Jun snatched Mingzhu from Jingzhe’s arms. "We will be in the kitchen." She said and quickly escaped with he grandchild.
As for the others, they were going nowhere. Great grandpa Jun had his phone in hand and he was ready to record it all.
"Nine hundred thousand fifty yuan." Jingzhe said.
The spatula remained where it was and his mother started tapping her foot impatiently.
"Five hundred thousand yuan." Jingzhe shouted and he turned to run.
Madam Feng went after him, waving the spatula like a flag in the air. "Feng Jingzhe, if you are thinking of spoiling my granddaughter I will destroy you first. You want to give her so much money. What is she going to use it for?"
They run into the kitchen where Mingzhu had been taken for safety. The next sound everyone heard was pans falling, a sharp smacking sound, Jingzhe crying out "Ouch" and then Mingzhu, Noodles and General Big Yellow came running out of the kitchen.
Then they heard Jingzhe saying, "Mother, I am a CEO and Mingzhu’s father. You are taking my dignity...I will rebel. I will run away from home with Mei Mei and Mingzhu."
Another smack was heard and then Jingzhe once again cried out, "Ouch. Mother, violence is not the answer."
Another smack was heard.
The Jun family elders shook their heads and laughed. They wondered if Jingzhe was stupid. You did not threaten to run away with the only grandchild of your mother and not expect violence.
You could run away with your wife, but the grandchild had to be left back.
