Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 103: The Person Here to Pick You Up Has Arrived
CHAPTER 103: CHAPTER 103: THE PERSON HERE TO PICK YOU UP HAS ARRIVED
"Young master, if you don’t intervene in Miss Winter’s matter, I’m afraid she’ll suffer!"
Uncle Ford reminded him.
"I have a plan for this!"
Elias Warner frowned. Since his mother wanted to interfere in this matter, he naturally had to give her some face.
He took out his phone and sent a text message to a number he hadn’t contacted in a long time.
Although Uncle Ford didn’t know what his young master was planning, he knew for sure that Elias would save Miss Winter.
He knew a bit about what happened between Elias and Miss Winter before.
The events of five years ago didn’t seem as straightforward as they appeared, especially with what his mistress had done to Miss Winter over the years.
Uncle Ford hoped that his young master would be happy. After all, he’d watched Elias Warner grow up.
There were many things, even Elias himself didn’t know.
But Uncle Ford knew them very well.
Renee Perry wasn’t as simple as she seemed.
Inside the police station.
Annelise Winter was stuck with a group of newly detained people.
Among them, there was a woman about Annelise’s age.
The people there called her Nina.
"I heard this woman is ruthless, has a terrible reputation, and is an ungrateful person. So should we teach her a lesson?"
Nina sneered.
"She has a vixen-like face that seduces men. Should we disfigure her?"
"Could it be that this woman is a mistress? I hate mistresses the most. If she’s one, I’ll tear her apart!"
Several inmates moved toward Annelise, surrounding her.
"Hit her!"
"I don’t seem to have any grudges against you, nor do I know where you heard these things. I advise you not to be taken advantage of and still count money for others!"
Annelise felt that they had no ties with her, but their hostility was great. Clearly, someone had deliberately instructed them.
Not to let her have peace.
At someone’s command, the others all rushed at Annelise, clearly intending to beat her half to death.
Annelise wasn’t afraid.
"Stop it now!"
The voice of a policeman appeared, and everyone stopped, returning to their original positions.
"Annelise Winter, someone’s here to bail you out!"
Annelise was surprised, someone came to bail her out?
But besides Elias Warner, she couldn’t think of anyone else; Chase Perry was abroad, so it couldn’t be him.
"Take your things and follow me!"
The policeman gestured for Annelise to gather her belongings and leave with him.
Annelise had no luggage, so she didn’t pack anything and left with the officer.
"She better not come back, or I’ll really ruin her face!"
There was disgruntled muttering from a few people behind her.
Leaving the police station, coming into the interrogation room, Annelise saw an elderly woman with gray hair, dressed elegantly in a qipao, sitting in a chair.
She seemed to be looking in her direction too.
Seeing clearly, she was shocked to find that it was Mrs. Lockwood.
She was Mrs. Lockwood’s attending doctor.
Because she had once saved Mrs. Lockwood’s life, the Lockwood family matriarch had always been fond of her; otherwise, she wouldn’t have brought up Mrs. Lockwood to pressure Zachary back then at the nightclub.
Why was she here? Could it be that Wayne Young’s matter had already become widely known?
Mrs. Lockwood stood up, somewhat excited to see Annelise.
She walked over to Annelise.
"Dr. Winter, long time no see. I didn’t expect you to become so haggard. Alas, why didn’t you come to me for help? If I hadn’t known you were framed and imprisoned, I wouldn’t know how you’d escape these demons!"
Mrs. Lockwood’s words seemed to carry a lot of information.
Annelise didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
"Grandma, why are you here?"
"Never mind that. Just know that if you encounter any trouble in the future, come to this old lady for help. I don’t believe Renee Perry can do anything to me!"
Mrs. Lockwood snorted coldly, taking Annelise’s hand and walking out.
Since she had bailed out Annelise, no one dared to stop them.
The Warner Residence
The news of Annelise Winter being bailed out by Mrs. Lockwood reached Renee Perry’s ears.
This news was naturally delivered by Wayne Young’s mother, that old crone.
"Now Annelise, that little tramp, has been gotten out of jail by that old witch from the Lockwood family. What do you plan to do?"
Wayne Young’s mother was unsatisfied as she hadn’t gotten justice for her son.
"What? How did that old witch from the Lockwood family find out about this? And she who’s always indifferent to outside matters, did the sun rise from the west today?"
Renee Perry always knew Mrs. Lockwood best because the Lockwood and Warner families were both prominent families in Kybourne, and they always had to show each other respect.
"Madam, you might not remember, but Miss Winter supposedly saved Mrs. Lockwood’s life before!"
Uncle Zane explained from the side.
"So that’s it? But who leaked the news to her? As far as I know, she was still abroad recuperating a few days ago, so why did she go straight to the jail the moment she got back?"
Renee frowned.
"I suspect it’s the young master. The young master also went to the police station earlier today, but left when Wayne Young’s mother mentioned you, ma’am!"
Uncle Zane continued explaining.
Renee fell into deep thought.
She understood Elias Warner well. It was indeed like him not to sit idly by when it came to Annelise Winter.
"What you say is highly possible. Elias is becoming more uncontrollable. We must act quickly for what we need to do!"
Renee clenched her fingers tightly, her eyes full of coldness.
"Yes!"
"But if Annelise gains the protection of Mrs. Lockwood in the future, it won’t be as easy to deal with her as pinching an ant. That old bat, just wait and see!"
Renee would never allow any behavior that defied her.
Mrs. Lockwood had already pulled Annelise into her vintage Red Flag car.
She sat in the Red Flag car, holding Annelise’s hand.
It felt as if she was her own granddaughter, so close.
Annelise didn’t refuse Mrs. Lockwood’s kindness.
She slowly spoke, "Grandma Lockwood, I really don’t know how to thank you for today. If it weren’t for you, I’d have been in trouble!"
Thinking of those still waiting at the police station to deal with her harshly, Annelise shivered unconsciously.
Mrs. Lockwood laughed, her white false teeth showing, her squinting eyes on that ageless face looking kind and gentle.
"Ah, you’re really just a naive girl. Someone asked me to help you, otherwise, how would I know you were in trouble? Cherish those around you, girl!"
Mrs. Lockwood patted her hand, speaking meaningfully.
"Hiss..."
A sudden screeching of brakes made the old Red Flag car jolt and come to a fast stop.
"What’s happening? Can’t you even drive properly?"
"Old madam, a car suddenly blocked our way, so..."
"Go see what’s going on!"
The old lady frowned.
Blocking their vintage Red Flag car was a black Red Flag model.
When Annelise looked up at the car, she was extremely surprised.
It was him?
When Mrs. Lockwood saw who got out of the car, a slight smile appeared on her lips, and she looked up at Annelise with squinting eyes.
"The person here to pick you up has arrived!"
