CHAPTER 118: CHAPTER 118: LEAVING WITH LUNA

Elias Warner sped all the way to the apartment where Annelise Winter used to live.

"Get out of the car and go get the clothes!"

Elias stared coldly.

"I’m not going. There are too many people here. I don’t want to go!"

She didn’t want to be seen by Renee Perry’s people here.

"You’re not going? Or you can’t get them back? Annelise, I know you too well; you don’t know how to lie!" Elias glared at Annelise’s fidgeting fingers.

"Yes, I sold the clothes, but... but I had no other choice!"

Annelise explained.

"No other choice? What choice?"

"I needed money!"

Annelise didn’t hide it.

"You needed money? What did you need the money for? So much that you had to sell my clothes?"

Elias sneered coldly.

"Yes, I did need money. How could a young master from a wealthy family understand how helpless it is to need money?"

Annelise was hysterical.

It seemed like she was back in the time before Luna’s surgery when she was overwhelmed every day trying to gather money.

She had tried every possible way.

"Alright, then tell me what you did with the money?"

Elias was infuriated. He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it. Smoke instantly filled the car.

His long and well-defined fingers held the cigarette, occasionally taking a puff, and then he’d roll down the window to flick the ash outside.

The ash danced on his fingertips.

"Fine, since you sold the clothes, you’ll buy them back the same way!"

Annelise nodded, "Don’t worry, I will buy that piece of clothing back!"

"Get out! Get out of the car!"

Elias frowned and shouted at Annelise.

Annelise opened the car door and stepped out.

The black Cullinan drove away quickly.

Leaving Annelise standing alone on the street.

He must be very angry, even more so that she sold his suit.

But she really needed money at the time, and that piece of clothing could save Luna’s life.

Forget it, she couldn’t let him know anyway; Luna was originally his daughter after all.

When Annelise returned to the villa, Elias had already left for a flight.

Luna came over, grabbing Annelise’s hand.

"Mom? What’s wrong? Did Dad bully you? Did you two have a fight? Dad seemed really angry when he came back just now!"

Luna pouted, feeling both heartbroken and worried.

"Luna, you’re still young, there are things you don’t understand. It’s Mom’s fault, it has nothing to do with Dad!"

Annelise pinched Luna’s cheeks.

She didn’t regret selling Elias’s suit. After all, if it hadn’t been for Elias’s suit, she wouldn’t have gathered the money for Luna’s surgery, and Luna wouldn’t be standing healthily in front of her now.

"Alright, so Mom, will Dad forgive you?" Luna asked innocently.

"Luna, if I were to ask you to leave here with me, would you be willing?"

Annelise probed, as she hadn’t told Luna about her plan to leave.

She hoped Luna would understand and leave Elias with her.

"Why, Mom? Do you want to take Luna away from here? What about Dad then? Will I be able to see Dad again?"

Luna’s eyes were misty, feeling sad at the thought of possibly not seeing her Dad.

Annelise felt heartbroken; Luna’s tears were like daggers piercing her deeply.

But she couldn’t leave Luna with Elias; only by staying away from Elias could they be free from danger.

"You can still see Dad, but we just can’t live together with him anymore, but you can still see him!"

Anyway, it was better to comfort her daughter first.

If she told her that she might not see Elias again, she would be very sad.

Annelise saw that Luna’s mood and condition indeed improved significantly while with Elias.

But she had no other choice.

Compared to Luna’s life, nothing else was more important.

"Alright then, if Mom doesn’t want to stay here, then we’ll leave!"

Luna obeyed, gently rubbing Annelise’s cheek with her small hands, like a little adult.

Annelise stayed with Luna.

She accompanied Luna, telling stories, eating, and sleeping together; Luna was very happy.

Until the evening, Elias didn’t return, which surprised Annelise a bit.

The next day, Annelise decided to go find her brother.

The last time when she called her brother in the office, his attitude clearly indicated something was wrong over there.

She decided to first go to the hospital and ask.

After Luna fell asleep, Annette Winter went straight to Kybourne Hospital.

Kybourne Hospital

She walked to the room her brother used to stay in, and it was empty, no one was there.

Annelise asked the nurse where the patient in that room went.

"You mean that young man? The one who had an accident? Who are you to him?"

The nurse looked around and carefully examined Annelise.

"I’m his sister, I want to ask, how is he? Has he been discharged? How’s his condition?"

Annelise didn’t want to trouble her brother because of her.

After all, ever since they found her, too many unexpected incidents had happened.

Originally, they should have been living happily, but now, because of her, they were put in danger.

"Biological sister?" the nurse asked again.

"Yes, biological sister!" Annelise’s eyes were incredibly sincere.

"I suspect his accident wasn’t an accident but deliberate!" the nurse whispered cautiously in Annelise’s ear.

"Thank you for the warning. Has he been discharged?" Annelise asked again.

"He’s been discharged already!"

The nurse showed Annelise the discharge records; the discharge date was the same day she and Wayne Young registered their marriage.

Annelise called her brother again, but his phone was unreachable.

Annelise knew that Renee Perry must have controlled her brother; otherwise, how could she not reach him?

Thinking about the way her brother talked to her last time, there was no doubt.

So, Annelise decided to go to The Sandalwood to find Renee.

She took a cab, feeling heart-wrenched for the disasters she brought upon her brother all these years.

Even though they only contacted her when they discovered she wasn’t the biological daughter, during that time, she was particularly upset.

It wasn’t because her identity suddenly changed, but because after all, The Winters had raised her for so many years.

No matter how they treated her normally, they had lived together for so long.

Even if you stay with a little dog for a long time, you develop feelings, let alone a living person.

Later, it was because of reuniting with her brother’s family, and her brother always treated her as a real sister.

She was very touched by this.

So, today, encountering difficulties, how could she ignore him?

The Sandalwood arrived

When she got out of the car, the entire Sandalwood was enveloped in the black night.

She looked at the time on her phone; it was already eight in the evening.

The lights at The Sandalwood were always punctual, lighting up at eight every evening.

Sure enough, the whole row of lights in the villa lit up.

She walked to the villa entrance.
