CHAPTER 150: CHAPTER 150: I WANT YOU, RIGHT NOW

"Elias, is it because Annelise..."

Sylvia pressed her lips together, her eyes burning with anger, yet she still put on a gentle front.

"Annelise has never said a bad word against you in front of me. On the contrary, it’s you, taking advantage of her feelings for you. Do you want me to continue?"

Elias continued coldly, "Tonight, the news about Annelise and me being together got out. Just think about what I just said! I think you know the consequences!"

Sylvia stepped back a few steps.

It seemed that Elias knew everything she had done.

She hated Annelise. Why?

Why did she deserve such care from Elias despite having a tarnished reputation?

"Did you hear me?"

Seeing that Sylvia did not speak, Elias coldly pursued.

"I heard, I will keep it secret, I won’t say a word!"

"Bang"

Elias hung up the phone.

He looked toward the bathroom.

Annelise was just too innocent. Sylvia, the kind of scheming woman she was, was much clearer to him than to Annelise.

Yet, Annelise regarded Sylvia as her best friend.

Elias felt a twinge of pain for Annelise.

He raised his wrist to check the time.

So long had passed, and she still hadn’t come out.

He knocked on the bathroom door.

No response.

Inside the bathroom

The warm water swirled around Annelise’s body as she lay asleep in the bathtub.

She had a dream.

Luna said she wanted to take the plane her dad was flying.

Compelled by some unseen force, she let Luna go up, while she did not.

Just as Luna got on the plane, a thunderstorm hit.

Fierce winds surged.

Lightning and thunder crashed.

This time, Elias did not remain calm like every other time they encountered a stormy area. Despite his efforts, ultimately, the plane dove toward the ground with everyone on it.

A great fire engulfed the entire plane.

"Luna, Luna, no, no!"

Annelise cried out in anguish.

Her sobbing grew louder.

"No, no!"

Elias heard Annelise’s cries, frowning, frantically pounding on the bathroom door.

"Annelise, Annelise, what’s wrong?"

"No, no..."

With a crash, Elias kicked the bathroom door open, seeing Annelise lying in the bathtub, and shouted in alarm.

He rushed over quickly and lifted Annelise out of the bathtub.

"Annelise, Annelise!"

Noticing that Annelise’s face was flushed and her body burning hot, he leaned down to touch his forehead against hers.

A wave of searing heat swept over him.

"A fever!"

He swiftly carried Annelise out of the bathroom, dried her body with a soft towel, and wrapped her up in a soft blanket.

He took her temperature: 38.8°C.

The fever refused to go down.

He immediately called Rosalind Willows.

This Rosalind Willows was actually the doctor who used to take care of the old lady at the manor.

Rosalind, who was responsible for Elias’s grandmother’s health, would routinely perform check-ups on the old lady.

On receiving Elias’s call, she immediately drove over.

Arriving at the villa, she saw Elias coming to greet her personally.

Frowning, "Weren’t you sick, with a fever? Why would you come out to greet me yourself?"

"It’s not me who’s sick. Please follow me!"

Elias gestured for Rosalind to follow him to the bedroom.

Seeing the person lying on the bed was Annelise.

"Miss Annelise? Why is it her? Are you two..."

"Hurry and take a look at her, her fever’s up to 38.8°C."

Elias wasn’t in the mood for chit-chat with Rosalind.

Though surprised to see Elias and Annelise together, Rosalind, of course, began to treat Annelise.

She prescribed some medicine for Annelise.

"After taking this medicine, the fever will go down. Make sure she drinks plenty of water!"

Rosalind also advised, "Since it’s a high fever, she might get confused, so Miss Annelise can’t be left alone. Someone needs to take care of her!"

"I’ll take good care of her!"

Elias replied.

"Alright, then I’ll be off. If any sudden issues arise, call me immediately!"

"About Annelise being here, could you please..."

"I understand, don’t worry. I won’t open my mouth!"

Rosalind left Elias’s villa.

After seeing Rosalind off, Elias sat by Annelise’s side, feeding her medicine and using a towel for physical cooling.

"Elias, Elias!"

Annelise called out his name frantically.

He hurriedly went over and held her hand, "I’m here, I’m here, I’ve always been here!"

Elias was a bit emotional; it was the first time he heard her call his name in such a weak state.

"Annelise, say it again, say my name, call it again!"

He held Annelise’s hand, kissing it, his eyes slightly reddened.

She was still thinking of him, still loving him!

Annelise woke up, slowly opening her eyes, and saw Elias’s blurry face right in front of her.

So, everything she had just dreamed was false, he wasn’t dead!

She struggled to her feet and wrapped Elias in a fierce embrace.

"Elias, you’re still alive, thank goodness!"

She cupped Elias’s cheeks, tears cascading from her eyes.

The warmth of Elias’s face made Annelise more sober.

She wrapped her arms around him tightly and kissed his thin lips.

Elias pushed her away gently, his voice hoarse, "You’re sick, be good, don’t move around. If you want it, not now, wait till you’re better..."

"No, I want you now, I dreamed of the plane crash, and you..."

Annelise burst into tears.

The sensation in her dream had been so vivid.

"Silly, wasn’t I always here? Let me get you some water, you’re sick with a fever!"

Elias rushed downstairs in a hurry.

He didn’t stop at all on the way.

He was too afraid he wouldn’t be able to control himself with Annelise just now.

But she’s still sick, he couldn’t do this.

After calming himself, he realized the water cup had overflowed.

Only then did he come to his senses.

Annelise was already much calmer, feeling a bit regretful of her earlier actions.

What was she doing just now?

She actually took the initiative...

Annelise’s cheeks turned slightly red.

She hurriedly lay back down.

Elias headed upstairs with the cup of water, but his body’s heat wouldn’t dissipate for a while, so he went back down again.

He added a few ice cubes to the cup and took large gulps to drink.

Only after a long time did he slightly recover.

Still worried about Annelise, he rushed back upstairs.

Seeing Elias, Annelise had already sorted out her thoughts, and she quickly sat up again.

Elias saw and hurried to help, putting a pillow behind Annelise’s back.

"Elias, I’m sorry... I crossed the line earlier, I shouldn’t have..."

Annelise bit her lip.

She then struggled to get herself up off the bed unsteadily.

The rain outside was still falling.
