Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 163: Freshly Baked Paternity Test
CHAPTER 163: CHAPTER 163: FRESHLY BAKED PATERNITY TEST
"My dad? Which dad are you asking about? I have several dads!"
Luna pouted, snorted coldly, and said, "You’re trying to trick me into talking, no way!"
She stuck out her tongue at Sylvia Lowell and ran away.
Sylvia Lowell was so angry.
She chased after Luna, caught up, and blocked Luna’s path.
"I’m helping you find your dad. I can contact him and call him. If you don’t believe, I’ll call him now!"
Sylvia Lowell immediately began dialing Elias Warner’s number.
"Elias, I came to the hospital to visit Annelise and ran into Luna. She said she’s here to find her dad! Do you want me to bring her to you?"
"Wait there, don’t move, I’m coming to pick her up!"
Elias Warner was at The Airline originally, but upon hearing Sylvia Lowell’s call, he hurriedly left the unit to pick her up.
In the meantime, Elias Winter also called Uncle Ford.
"Uncle Ford, can you check if Luna’s mother is at home? This woman actually lost the kid, and now the child is at the hospital looking for her parents!"
Uncle Ford quickly said, "I received a call from Luna’s mother this morning. She said she couldn’t find the child. I’ll call her now and let her know to come over!"
"Okay!"
Elias Warner hung up the phone.
Hospital
Sylvia Lowell pulled Luna to Annelise’s hospital room.
"Tell me the truth, is Annelise your mom?"
Sylvia Lowell was a bit angry, this little kid in front of her probably wouldn’t tell the truth without some tricks.
"I won’t tell you anything you want to know, give up already. You’re a bad woman, totally unworthy of my dad!"
Luna snorted coldly.
Sylvia Lowell frowned.
This little girl is simply going to drive her mad.
"Will you tell me or not? If you don’t say it, I’ll have to get rough with you!"
Sylvia Lowell raised her hand as a demonstration.
"Are you ashamed, being rough with a kid?"
Luna stuck out her tongue, "Hit me then, if you hit me, I’ll tell my dad, and he will never talk to you again!"
"You!"
Sylvia Lowell had no solution.
"Also, you’re supposed to be Aunt Annelise’s friend, and you’re pretending to visit her. What exactly do you want to know? Auntie is such a good person, how could she have a friend like you!"
Luna pouted and mumbled.
"You little rascal, what nonsense are you spouting!"
Sylvia Lowell snorted coldly.
Sylvia Lowell reached out and plucked a strand of Luna’s hair.
"Ouch, bad woman, what are you doing!" Luna snorted coldly.
"Mind your own business!"
Sylvia Lowell put Luna’s hair into her bag.
This little brat won’t speak, but she has other ways to find out.
Upon receiving Uncle Ford’s call, Annelise hurried to the hospital.
Unexpectedly, she spotted Sylvia Lowell and Luna standing at the corner entrance.
"Why is it her?"
Annelise touched her wig deliberately and quietly retreated downstairs.
She went to the bathroom and thought: "No, this disguise definitely won’t fool Sylvia Lowell! Elias Warner, being a man, doesn’t know much about women’s makeup, but Sylvia Lowell is different!"
She hurriedly took off her clothes and removed her makeup in the bathroom.
After everything was ready, she entered the hospital room.
Opened the door and exclaimed, "Sylvia, why are you here with Luna in my hospital room?"
"Oh, weren’t you sick? So I came to see you. Didn’t expect to run into this girl here, she said Elias is her dad!"
"Isn’t this Luna? I know her, you can leave her with me. I’m good friends with her mom!"
Annelise pretended to be calm.
She reached out to embrace Luna.
Luna immediately leaped into Annelise’s arms.
Sylvia Lowell carefully observed the two.
She looked left and right and felt that Luna and Annelise resembled each other very much.
Eyes, nose, brows, there’s not one place that doesn’t look alike.
"Annelise, tell me, you say you’re friends with Luna’s mom, then who is her mom? What does she do? Is she pretty?"
Sylvia Lowell curiously stared at Annelise and slowly approached her.
Aiming to clearly observe any changes in Annelise’s expression.
Annelise was awkward; the supposed Luna’s mom was invented by her. How to reply?
But if she didn’t say anything, Sylvia Lowell would certainly suspect.
"Luna’s mom is a doctor, and her duty locations are not fixed, so I’m not sure!"
Annelise forced herself to remain calm but dared not meet Sylvia Lowell’s gaze.
Facing Sylvia Lowell, she always felt guilty.
Sylvia Lowell scrutinized the expression on Annelise’s face.
She felt a bit of anger inside.
Clearly, Annelise was deceiving her!
From childhood till now, having spent so much time with Annelise, how could she not understand her?
Obviously, she was lying.
While Annelise wasn’t paying attention, she plucked a strand of Annelise’s hair and put it in her bag.
"Oh, is that so? I just find this kid so cute, I was really curious what kind of woman could have such a pretty child!"
Luna stood nearby, frowning instantly upon hearing Sylvia Lowell’s words.
This woman is really adept at disguising herself, better than anything else.
Now you’re even praising yourself for being pretty in front of your mom!
Luckily, mom isn’t buying it!
"Annelise, I’m going to the bathroom, Luna, you stay here with her for now. Elias said he’d come to pick her up later!"
said Sylvia Lowell.
"Okay!"
Sylvia Lowell walked out of the room.
She lied to Alice and went to find a doctor by herself.
She handed over Luna and Alice’s hair to the doctor, asking for a paternity test between the two.
"How long will it take to get the results?"
Sylvia Lowell almost wanted the doctor to give her the results immediately.
"Tomorrow!"
"I’ll pay more, I need to know the results right away!"
Sylvia Lowell transferred money to the doctor.
He agreed to quickly give Sylvia Lowell the results.
"Please send the results to my phone once they’re out!"
Sylvia Lowell turned and left, returning to Alice’s room.
She smiled and asked Alice, "Annelise, you’re sick, but you didn’t say anything. My brother is still worried about you. How are you two talking lately? I was hoping you could be my sister-in-law. I wonder if there’s a chance!"
Sylvia Lowell studied the expression on Alice’s face.
Noticing Alice’s awkwardness, she understood Alice’s thoughts.
She showed displeasure on her face.
It seemed Alice had never thought of being with her brother seriously.
"Annelise, tell me, is Luna Elias’s child?"
"I don’t know. I just know her mother well, but I’m not clear about the specifics!"
Alice had already thought of an explanation.
"Alright, let’s continue talking about my brother! He said he wanted to see you, but he’s a bit busy today, so I came on his behalf!"
Alice smiled slightly: "Sylvie, you know I’m probably not a good match for your brother!"
"What’s wrong? Do you think my brother isn’t good enough for you?"
Sylvia Lowell continued to ask.
"No, I’m not good enough for your brother!"
Alice sighed.
"What’s wrong? You were fine, why say that all of a sudden? You and my brother were talking fine before?"
"I’m not good enough for your brother. Oh, here’s a card for you to take!"
Alice took a card from her bag and handed it to Sylvia Lowell.
"What’s this?" Sylvia Lowell stared at the bank card, frowning.
"It’s a million. It’s the money I borrowed from you before, and now I’m returning it to you!"
Alice was very sincere.
"Annelise, do you no longer consider me your best friend? Why are you returning the money I lent to you and being so precise about it?"
Sylvia Lowell looked very hurt.
"It’s not that. When I borrowed the money, I told you that I must pay it back!"
Alice felt that now she and Elias Warner were in an engaged relationship, she should clear up things, which seemed the best choice.
Sylvia Lowell saw Alice’s resolve to repay the money.
She grabbed Alice’s hand: "Annelise, I’m so scared. Are you planning to cut ties with me? Have you not forgiven me yet? I shouldn’t have fallen for Elias. I’m sorry, Annelise, please don’t abandon me!"
For some reason, whenever Sylvia Lowell touched her hand, Alice felt very uncomfortable, even a bit nauseous.
She quickly withdrew her hand from Sylvia Lowell’s grasp.
"We agreed initially, so it has nothing to do with anything else!"
Alice’s expression was indifferent, hard to read.
"Smack"
A sharp slap landed on Sylvia Lowell’s face.
Sylvia Lowell kneeled in front of Alice, clutching Alice’s hand: "Annelise, I’m begging you, please forgive me, will you? Don’t ignore me. We were such good friends before. Are you going to abandon me now? Is it because of my relationship with Elias?"
"You’re mistaken, really mistaken!"
Alice hurried to explain.
"But Annelise, I really can’t do without Elias. I’m begging you, can you leave Elias? Don’t appear in front of him anymore, okay? I can give you a lot of money, however much you want. As long as you stay away from Elias, I can send you abroad and help you achieve your dream of flying. You always wanted to do that, right?"
Sylvia Lowell was almost hysterical.
"Sylvie, I’ve told you long ago, Elias and I haven’t had any relationship for a while. We didn’t before, and even more so won’t in the future. Rest assured, I’m not going to ruin your relationship with Elias!"
"Really? Can I trust you? Can you swear?"
Sylvia Lowell was very agitated, really scared.
She knew how important Alice was to Elias.
"Sylvie, calm down. I never thought our relationship would turn out like this!"
Alice was very sad; to her, Sylvia Lowell was her best friend.
Her best friend, who was secretly envious all along.
Was the past decade of devotion all fake?
"Elias was avenging himself through me. He only sees me as vengeance, and I don’t have any feelings for him. I won’t be entangled with him. Once he feels vindicated, there won’t be any entanglements between us. Don’t worry, I never thought about coming between you and Elias. Sylvie, the earlier version of you I knew wasn’t like this. How did you become like this?"
Alice really felt some regret.
"You should be yourself. A man shouldn’t be everything to you. Look at what you’ve become now? Do you know how much pain he was in yesterday?"
Alice just thought Sylvia Lowell had become an unrecognizable version of herself.
Was it that she didn’t understand Sylvia Lowell well initially, or did Sylvia change just now?
"Ring ring"
Sylvia Lowell’s phone rang.
It was a message from the same doctor.
It was the freshly obtained paternity test report!
