CHAPTER 89: CHAPTER 89: ANNELISE WINTER TAKEN AWAY BY POLICE

The old lady’s words immediately sparked controversy.

"A blind date in a private room? Oh my god, it’s the first time I’ve heard of someone going on a first blind date in a private room, isn’t that the hotel where the big boss hosted a party last night?!"

"Pfft, this woman is notoriously promiscuous!"

The crowd’s gaze at Annelise Winter became exceedingly peculiar.

"Old lady, you say it was your son who saved me? Fine, do you dare to confront me at the police station? Yesterday, it was clearly your son who tried to molest me!"

"Oh, I can’t live anymore, my son is in the ICU, say whatever you want, look, he’s becoming disabled, so you’re despising him, oh, I can’t live anymore!"

The old lady clapped her hands and sat on the ground with a thud.

"Judge for yourselves, where is the justice? My son saved her, and yet she slanders my son for molesting her? If my son were a bad guy, why would you go to the private room with him? How did you get to the private room? Did he carry you there?"

The old lady’s words left Annelise speechless.

Meeting someone for a blind date, entering a private room on the first date inevitably leads people to think badly.

"That’s because last night at The Kellington Hotel, it was Captain Warner and his fiancée’s party, I went to attend the party and incidentally have a blind date with your son, it was just quiet in the private room!"

Annelise’s explanation instantly aroused public anger.

"Annelise, stop spouting nonsense, Captain Warner and his fiancée’s party? Why weren’t we all invited? Only you knew? Captain Warner flew to Breslin, you think there’s no one to confront you, is that it!"

Tina Yates squeezed in, pointing at Annelise, "He was kind enough to save you, and because he got disabled from saving you, you show disdain, you are too heartless!"

"Yes, yes, too heartless, even if you don’t want to marry, you should wait until he comes out of ICU and recovers, then talk about it, and here Annelise acts as if nothing happened and goes to work!"

"Yes, too ruthless!"

"Where’s your boss? I want to see your boss, I want him to stand up for me, an old woman, today I must take you back to marry my son!"

"If you keep causing trouble, I’ll call the police, let’s see whose words hold true!"

"Stop maligning people here, Tina Yates, what does this have to do with you? You’re meddling like a shit-stirrer!" Chloe Joyce jumped out to defend Annelise.

"You!" Tina Yates was left speechless.

Annelise had already dialed the police.

"Old lady, I’ve called the police, whatever it is, say it to them, you’ve already impacted my work, I can sue you for causing a public safety hazard!"

"You! Oh, there’s no justice, no justice, my son was injured because of you, and you still want to sue me! Fine, I’ll wait for the police to come and find out!"

The old lady clutched the hem of her clothes tightly.

Originally, because the Crown Prince of the Warner Family was involved last night, she didn’t dare to make a fuss.

But thinking about how someone came to her today to cause trouble for Annelise, promising her two million after the matter,

how could she not come for such benefits.

"Who called the police?"

Annelise pointed at the old lady and explained the situation to the police.

"Then you’ll both come with us to the station, we’ll sort it out from there!"

The old lady got up from the ground, snorted, "Go to the station then, I don’t believe there’s no place to reason!"

Annelise and the old lady were both taken into the police car.

In the police car, the old lady leaned closer to Annelise and whispered menacingly, "Miss Winter, I advise you to do as I say. You know your status, you have no power nor influence in this city, yet you dare to fight me! Utterly overestimating yourself!"

Annelise glanced at the old lady and roughly understood from her words.

This old lady had no fear of being investigated, it seemed, someone was backing her up.

"So, someone ordered you to do this?" Annelise asked, staring at the old lady’s smug face.

"I advise you to behave, even if I tell you someone is behind this, what can you do? You, a wild girl from the backwoods with no power nor influence, go ahead and fight me!"

Annelise first thought of Renee Perry.

She was indeed afraid, having witnessed too many of Renee’s tricks.

Last night, Elias Warner saved her, ruining her plan.

Renee would never let it go!

Annelise clenched her fingers, why must they push her to a dead end?

At the police station.

A police officer approached Annelise, saying, "Miss Winter, you’ve accused this old lady of slandering your integrity and disrupting your work, however, we can only warn her. Do you have any evidence regarding her son’s attempt to violate your purity?"

Evidence?

The Kellington Hotel is a Warner Family property, Renee certainly wouldn’t provide video evidence to help her.

Annelise didn’t want to drag Elias Warner into this because of it, she clenched her fists, "No! But I was given something unclean last night, you can test it, there should still be drug residue."

"Based solely on your words, we can’t convict Wayne Young unless there is his bodily fluid residue found on you, or you have certified physical evidence!"

Annelise remained silent.

The officer continued, "As for her claiming you should marry her son, you shouldn’t feel coerced, you both should discuss this matter properly."

"Officer, I want to accuse Annelise of slandering me, affecting my reputation, I only came to hold her responsible for my son, I’m telling the truth!"

Seeing Annelise remain silent, the old lady began to counter-attack.

Annelise glared at the old lady.

The police looked helpless.

"Miss Winter, if you can’t produce evidence of her son’s misconduct toward you, you might face legal consequences for defamation."

Sure enough, before long, the old lady was bailed out and provided evidence of her son’s serious injuries due to Annelise.

Two hours later, the police came in to pass a message to Annelise, "Someone wants to see you!"

To her surprise, it was Renee Perry who walked in.

Renee’s eyes were filled with coldness.

She approached Annelise and warned her in a low voice.

"So, how do you like the consequences of disobedience? This time, if you comply with my instructions, I can bail you out. If you don’t, think about your brother!"

Renee raised her phone, which was playing a video.

In the video, there was a scene of a young boy being rescued.

Brother?

This was her brother!
