Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 90: Forced to Sign the Marriage Agreement
CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: FORCED TO SIGN THE MARRIAGE AGREEMENT
"If you want to come at me, do it, but leave him alone, he’s just a child!" Annelise Winter screamed hysterically.
"The only reason he’s like this is because of you! He’s near death, but as long as you obey, he can still live!"
Renee Perry signaled Uncle Ray to take an agreement out of the bag and threw it in front of Annelise.
Written prominently on the agreement were the bold words: Marriage Agreement.
It was a marriage agreement with Wayne Young.
Annelise looked at Renee in astonishment, questioning coldly, "So, everything that happened in the private room last night was orchestrated by you!"
"Yes, you’re right, it was orchestrated by me. So what? What can you do about it?"
Renee looked down at Annelise with a smug smile on her lips.
With her methods, manipulating Annelise was as easy as handling a canary, or even an ant.
Annelise’s eyes turned bloodshot, she bit down on her teeth and clenched her fists.
Facing Renee’s oppression, she indeed had no strength to resist.
"Do you know how your brother ended up in the hospital? I can generously tell you, it was because I ordered someone to run him over with a car. If I hadn’t shown mercy, he would probably be dead by now!"
Renee extended her final words.
Brutally staring at the contract in front of Annelise.
"This world is meant for the weak to submit. I have warned you before, now sign the agreement and obediently marry Wayne Young. I will ensure Elijah’s job and your brother’s studies remain undisturbed. But if you disobey, be prepared to collect your brother’s body!"
"Renee! This is a society governed by law, aren’t you afraid of being thrown in jail for committing such blatant crimes? Moreover, this is the police station now! Do you believe I won’t report you for attempted murder right now?"
Annelise stood up, tears brimming in her eyes as she questioned.
"Sure, should I call the police for you? Do you believe that as soon as the police enter, you’ll receive the news of your brother’s death in the next second?!" Renee sneered as she sat in front of Annelise, her patience was running out.
She didn’t want to waste any more words on Annelise.
Annelise gritted her teeth. She glared at Renee, her anger burning, wanting to set the entire police station on fire.
Her clenched fingers dug into her palms, leaving bloody marks.
"Fine, then you may never leave here!"
Renee turned to leave.
"Wait, I’ll sign!" Annelise let out a breath and propped her hands on the worn-out table, which was about to collapse.
Annelise picked up the agreement and swiftly signed her name on it.
Renee picked up the agreement, a smile curling on her lips.
No matter how strong the horse is, in her hands, it must obediently comply!
Annelise forced herself to stand, nearly collapsing to the ground.
Renee told the policeman beside her, "I want to bail her out, please let her go!"
The policeman had Renee sign, and then Renee pulled the lost Annelise away.
It wasn’t until Renee had Uncle Ray drag Annelise into the car that Annelise somewhat came to her senses.
She was now sitting in the back seat of the car, with Renee in the front, suffocating her.
Back at the old house.
Renee sat on the sofa, and Annelise stood at the door. Without Elias Warner, everything here seemed so out of place with her.
"Once Mr. Young recovers in a few days, you’ll go get the certificate. The Young Family has already sent the bride price: three million and a house and car. Although three million is not much, for marrying a country bumpkin, a second-hand one at that, it’s enough!"
Renee sneered at Annelise with cold sarcasm.
This time, Annelise unexpectedly didn’t retort.
Knowing full well that no matter how she retorted, it would be useless.
"You’ve made a mess out of the Warner Family, these gifts are compensation to us. As for the promise I made to you about money and sending you abroad after marrying Wayne Young, don’t worry. I will send you overseas with Mr. Young, as long as Elijah can’t find you, I can ensure you will be worry-free for life!"
Renee stood up to leave.
Stopping at the door, she warned, "I’m telling you, don’t try any tricks this time! If you dare to act up again, your brother won’t be just in the ICU, and don’t count on Elias to help you. I’m telling you, I’m his mother, and his every move can’t escape my grasp!"
Once Renee left, Annelise couldn’t support herself any longer and retreated a few steps, collapsing onto the sofa.
Breathing heavily.
Thinking of Elias Warner, who loved aviation so deeply, he probably wouldn’t want to leave the Airline, right?
If she doesn’t comply, Elias Warner’s future might also be ruined by her hand.
Someone so disgraced and notorious like her doesn’t deserve him at all.
How could she drag him down further?
And her brother, even though they didn’t grow up together from an early age.
They are, after all, tied by blood, the first time seeing her brother, he felt very close.
Now, her brother just started university, he is so excellent, at the prime of his youth.
Having worked hard to escape the mountains.
She couldn’t allow herself to destroy it all.
The family bond is such that the bones are connected with tendons, how could she let such innocent people get hurt because of her?
Annelise looked at the engagement agreement placed on the table.
The money from Wayne Young had been taken by Renee.
Probably to prevent her from using it impulsively, it wouldn’t be until she married Wayne Young that Renee would feel at ease.
Not long after, Renee returned again.
"Pack your things now and go to the hospital to take care of Wayne Young until he is discharged! Remember, don’t try any tricks! Your brother is living next to Wayne Young, I can take his life anytime!"
"I understand!"
Annelise went upstairs to wash her face.
Even if it was just to see her brother at the hospital, it was worth the trip.
Uncle Ray followed Renee’s orders and sent Annelise to the hospital.
The car waited at the hospital entrance.
"Ma’am, the person has been sent in. I’m standing guard at the hospital entrance, rest assured!"
Uncle Ray reported the situation to Renee.
"Hmm, she wouldn’t dare, I was too merciful before! Watching over her is good too, to prevent any new trickery!"
"Understood!"
Annelise followed the address to visit her brother first.
Lingering at the door for a long time, asking the medical staff about her brother’s condition.
"Nurse, could you please check on Simon Winter’s situation for me? I’m his sister!"
Annelise smiled, appearing gentle and weak.
The nurse couldn’t help but feel sympathy for her.
"Simon Winter? He was brought in due to a car accident. Fortunately, the rescue was timely, and he’s already out of life-threatening danger. He’s in room 331. He’s quite pitiful. You’re his sister? He had no one to sign for him when he was in the ICU! You as his sister are too irresponsible!"
The nurse glanced at Annelise, and from her attire, she didn’t look like a child from a poor family.
How could she be so heartless towards her brother?
"I’m sorry, I understand now. Thank you."
Annelise turned and ran towards her brother’s ward.
Fortunately, he’d passed the critical stage of danger.
She gently pushed open the door to his room.
This slight movement startled Simon Winter, lying on the bed.
He struggled to open his eyes, weakly looking towards the door.
He smiled, trying hard to shout, "Sister, why are you here?"
"I’m sorry, sister came late. Are you feeling better? Does anything hurt?!"
Annelise’s eyes filled with tears.
The young man before her, young and handsome, always radiant and warm, now with bandages on his forehead, looked so fragile.
When he heard Annelise’s concern, he extended his distinctly jointed fingers, grabbing Annelise’s hand: "Sister, is someone giving you a hard time again!"
Annelise froze.
She just smiled, "What are you talking about, Simon? How could sister be suffering? Sister is the Winter Family’s daughter. Even if not now, she is the Warner Family’s goddaughter. Who dares to bully sister!"
