Chapter b230 /b

Sunnybrook Kindergarten was Brindley’s most upscale kindergarten. A year’s tuition was 200 thousand dors.

The children who studied there were from families that were rich, powerful, or both. None of them could afford to offend anyone else.

When Willow arrived at the kindergarten and made her way to the principal’s office, she found two children inside. One was Thalia, and the other was a little boy who looked small for his age. He was tiny and had wless skin. He looked gorgeous.

Setting aside his good looks, Willow couldn’t help finding him familiar. She felt like she’d seen him before, and he couldn’t take his eyes off her the moment he saw her. It was almost as if he wanted to run to her but was doing his best to restrain himself… mainly because Thalia had thrown her arms around her.

Thalia looked up at Willow and acted cutely, albeit tearfully. “Willow.”

Willow rubbed her head but couldn’t help looking at the little boy again.

Thalia turned to Landon and stuck her hands on her hips, saying, “This is Willow. She’s going to marry my daddy in the future and be my mommy!”

Children’s words couldn’t be taken seriously, so Willow didn’t bother refuting her. She merely rubbed Thalia’s head and said, “I heard you two got into a fight and that you made him cry. Let’s apologize to him, okay?”

Both children didn’t have mothers, and what had started as an argument had turned into a fight. Landon was smaller in size, so he hadn’t stood a chance against Thalia. He’d even cried.

Thalia had won the fight and preserved her dignity. She walked to Landon and said generously, ” I’m sorry, Landon. I won’t fight with you anymore. If anyone dares bully you in the future, tell me their names, and I’ll beat them up for you.”

Landon didn’t respond. He continued looking at Willow with tears in his eyes.

Willow was dumbfounded. The blood drained from her face, and she could barely stand. She didn’t even know how she approached Landon and crouched before him, looking at his familiar face.

Her fingers trembled as she reached out to touch his face, and her voice was shaky as she asked, “Is your name Landon? What’s your father’s name?”

He bit his lip, looking a little stubborn. After a while, he said in a small voice, “Daddy is Mr. Handsome.”

Willow’s face was already wet with tears. She held Landon by the shoulders, almost positive that he was her son. Still, she was afraid she was mistaken and would scare him.

She trembled violently, desperate to know whether he was her Landon. Was he still alive and well?

Landon also cried. He did it even more delicately than a little girl would; he looked like a crybaby.

He was still mad at Willow because she’d held Thal earlier.

Amid their impasse, one of the teachers entered the room and said, “Landon, your father is here.” Willow was kneeling on the floor and slowly turned around at the teacher’s words. She saw Julian standing silently at the door. The sun was behind him, so it was hard to discern the look on his face.

Still, it wasn’t hard to imagine that he probably looked as broken and sorrowful as Willow did. The hurt of their past still affected them deeply and refused to leave them alone.

The former lovers looked into each other’s eyes as the past faded with the wind.

Tears streamed down Willow’s face as she looked at Julian, her gaze a mixture of hatred and guilt. She turned back to Landon and held him gently, not daring to even apply the slightest bit of force. She held her precious treasure close–the child shed lost and found.

    “Landon… I’m so sorry. I thought you were… I’m your mother, Landon!”

Her tears soaked into Landon’s clothes; this was wholly unbing. However, Willow didn’t care. What could bring more joy and overwhelming emotion than being reunited with something one had thought was lost forever?

Landon was her son, the child she thought she’d lost after carrying him in her womb for months. Had the heavens heard her prayers and returned him to her?

Landon held himself back for a long time before finally reaching out to wrap his arms around Willow. He said in a small voice, “Mommy.”

She couldn’t hold back her emotions anymore. She’d bottled them up for too long–this feeling of reiming something she thought lost forever was both ecstatic and heartbreaking. She couldn’t

    calm down.

Ultimately, Julian had to approach them and lift Landon up with one arm. He wanted to pat Willow’s shoulder with his right hand, but it couldn’t move anymore after being raised slightly. His eyes dimmed, and he smiled bitterly.

Willow finally calmed down after a long time. She looked at Julian and said, “Let’s talk.”

He could guess what she wanted–Landon’s custody. Instead of immediately turning her down, he said, “Let’s go home–back to Radiance Manor, where we can talk.”

That wasn’t her home, but they did need to speak somewhere private. Besides, Landon kept looking at her pleadingly as tears glimmered in his eyes. He kept his arms wrapped around Julian’s neck as he did this.

Willow clenched her jaw before following Julian into his car. The backseat was spacious, and there were documents in every space, It was clear he often worked in the car.

He noticed her looking around and exined, “I stopped driving after my earlier ident.”

Landon curled up in his arms, looking like a clingy baby. Willow couldn’t help finding this surprising after calming down.

Julian didn’t seem like the type of father who would dote endlessly on his son, but it was clear Landon meant more to him than life itself. He’d definitely raised Landon like he was a precious

    treasure.

In the future, when Landon grew up to be tall, broad, and one of Brindley’s most important scions, he would want nothing more than to forget that Thalia had ever beaten him up.

Back at Radiance Manor, Landon had fallen asleep after his outburst. It was clear Julian was inconvenienced when he tried to get out of the car.

Willow was about to take Landon from him when the driver opened the door. He ced a hand above the door and said, “Be careful when you get out, sir.‘

Julian got out while holding Landon with one arm. Then, he walked up the steps to the house.

Willow stood behind him and watched him silently. She felt like there was such a sense of familiarity to this that it was almost as if she’d dreamed of this scene countless times. It was like Julian had always held Landon with one arm since he was a baby.

She shook her head and told herself she was overthinking things. 1

The maids were surprised and delighted when they saw her. “You’re back, Mrs. Ziegler!”
