Two female caretakers rushed in, grabbing Catherine by the arms to keep her from thrashing around.
But Catherine still had her mouth.
She started hurling insults at Willow, her words vicious. “Julian never loved you! You’re nothing more than a tool for his power struggle! If he truly loved you, why would he stay in Grandsburg instead ofing back?
“Willow, you’re pathetic for clinging to a man who doesn’t love you. You have no self–respect at all!”
One of the caretakers covered her mouth.
But it was toote. Everyone had heard her, including Charlie and Nancy, who had just arrived, and Julian.
The room fell into a dead silence.
Willow’s pride was trampled on once again…
Julian’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he called out, “Willow.”
Willow first looked at Catherine, then shifted her gaze to her husband. She let out a faint smile. “Julian, she’s not wrong. You don’t love me, do you? Do you dare say it now that you love me?”
Julian took a step closer. “Let’s talk about this at home.”
She shook off his hand, her smile turning cold. “Why should we talk about it at home? Are you afraid to say something in front of your
mistress?
“Julian, we’ve been married for years. I never asked you for your loyaltyb, /bbut at the very least, keep your dog in check. Now that she’s barged in here herself, I won’t disappoint either of you.
“I will sue you. I will have the court calcte it down to thest penny of every cent you spent on Catherine. Sure, I know you don’t care about the money, but I’ll make sure Catherine is nailed to the pir of shame.
“I want everyone to know that she is your side chick.”
A round of apuse broke out.
Annie pped so hard that her hands were about to break. Willow was truly something else.
Charlie and Nancy turned pale.
Charlie was a well–known figure. His reputation mattered. Even if Julian and Catherine’s rtionship was innocent, those expenses wouldn’t
be easy to exin away.
Before Charlie could say anything, Nancy stormed up and blocked Julian, snapping, “Julian, your wife is really something. She’s keeping tabs on your spending? Why don’t you just tell her-”
“Mrs. Burkeb!/b” Julian’s voice was iceb–/bcoldb, /bcarrying a sharp warning.
Nancy froze. She wanted to say moreb, /bbut Charlie firmly held her back.
Julian’s voice was low. “If anyone dares to say one more word in front of my wife, you’ll deal with the consequences.b” /b
Charlie and Nancy were stunned.
Julian brushed past Nancy and walked up to Willow.
His heart was in turmoil. After all these years of running back and forth, the only warmth and happiness he had ever known had actuallye from Willow. No matter how exhausted he was, he always had a home to return to Brindley.
With time, how could he not have felt something for her?
Julian gently pulled Willow into an embraceb, /bhis whole body trembling…

In a luxury apartment, the doctor sedated Catherine, and she finally calmed down.
Things had been this way since Julian came over. Charlie and Nancy sat down to discuss some matters with him. They clearly felt that Julian’s attitude toward them had grown noticeably colder.
They talkedte into the night andter persuaded Julian to stay for a midnight snack before leaving. Julian was truly exhausted, so he agreed.
Then, he fell asleep on the couch.
His tall frame sprawled across the entire sofa, and his ck coat was casually thrown over him. As he shifted, something slipped from his coat pocket. It was a yellowed piece of paper that quietly fluttered to the floor.
Catherine woke up. She tiptoed over and picked up the paper…
