Legend of Wyatt
Chapter 1949: Abraham Clifford Arrives
CHAPTER 1949: CHAPTER 1949: ABRAHAM CLIFFORD ARRIVES
Upon hearing Maximus Lee’s inquiry, had it not been for knowing the significant conflict between Maximus and Wyatt Barnes, Yale Wade would have already lost his temper:
Are the disciples at the Black Tortoise Altar all so arrogant?!
To dare ignore him, the Law Enforcement Elder of the Vermilion Bird Altar, on its territory, was simply the height of arrogance!
"He’s in the ’B-Room’ which originally belonged to Hudson Anderson... He said that when your Black Tortoise Altar’s Law Enforcement Elder ’Abraham Clifford’ arrives, call him, and he’ll come out."
As he spoke, Yale Wade squinted his small eyes, a cold gleam in them.
His chubby face twisted together, showing just how angry he was at this moment!
"What?!"
Upon hearing Yale Wade’s words, Maximus Lee’s face changed dramatically, and he shouted angrily, "Who does he think he is? A ’criminal’ defying the Sect’s rules, daring to act so presumptuously?!"
As soon as he finished speaking, before Yale Wade and the crowd of Vermilion Bird Altar disciples could react, Maximus Lee had already struck out like lightning.
Boom!!
With a casual raise of his hand, Maximus Lee unleashed a palm. The nearly invisible yet vast power swiftly transformed into a palm imprint, which broke through the air with a loud bang, fiercely landing on the ’B-Room’ ahead.
Rumble!!
Accompanied by an earth-shattering sound, the B-Room abruptly collapsed, turning into ruins, with dust swirling in the air.
From afar, it was truly a hair-raising sight.
"So ruthless!"
Witnessing this scene, the disciples of the Vermilion Bird Altar shivered inwardly, not expecting Elder Silver Flame of the Black Tortoise Altar, ’Maximus Lee’, to be so fierce, destroying one of their B-Rooms with a single strike.
"Elder Maximus!"
Seeing this, Yale Wade’s face paled, then he glared at Maximus with a displeased expression.
Whether it was Maximus destroying the B-Room where their Vermilion Bird Altar disciples resided or arbitrarily abusing his authority, he was dissatisfied.
Faced with Wyatt Barnes’s actions, though he was unhappy, he never thought of abusing his authority... Otherwise, Wyatt Barnes, just a mere individual, wouldn’t have survived in his hands!
As the Law Enforcement Elder of the Vermilion Bird Altar, Yale Wade, like anyone else, would be angered by various unpleasant matters, yet he had his principles.
In the Fire Worship Sect, everything is done according to the ’Sects rules’!
That was Yale Wade’s principle.
"Don’t worry, I didn’t kill him!"
Maximus Lee said calmly.
Though he wished to tear Wyatt Barnes to pieces, he wasn’t so impulsive as to arbitrarily execute Wyatt in front of the Law Enforcement Elder of the Vermilion Bird Altar.
He acted simply because he didn’t want Wyatt Barnes to feel comfortable.
In his view, the reason Wyatt Barnes dared to be so ’arrogant’ was surely because he knew he’d die for certain, so he wanted to gloat and enjoy himself before dying.
Wyatt Barnes wanting to enjoy himself? He refused to let that happen!
You like to rest, do you?
Then I’ll destroy the house, let’s see how you rest!
"Maximus Lee!"
Under everyone’s gaze, the ruins trembled a few times before an angry and icy voice emanated from them.
Boom!!
Immediately afterward, another loud sound echoed as the ruins exploded, and a figure emerged stepping into the air, it was the visibly displeased ’Wyatt Barnes’.
Wyatt Barnes, just out of the ruins, appeared somewhat disheveled.
"Wyatt Barnes, upon seeing this elder, you dare call me by my name... Do you know you’ve already broken the Fire Worship Sect’s rules about respecting elders?"
Seeing Wyatt Barnes so embarrassed, a hint of pleasure flashed in Maximus Lee’s eyes before he spoke coldly.
In his words, he directly accused Wyatt Barnes of disrespecting his elders.
"Hmph!"
Upon hearing Maximus Lee’s words, Wyatt Barnes immediately snorted coldly, retorting, "If I remember correctly, our Fire Worship Sect also has a rule: the elders of the sect shall not bully the young!
"You already lowered yourself to bully someone weaker, do you still want me to respect you? Are you stupid, or are you just an idiot naturally?!"
Having stayed well in his room only for it to be destroyed by Maximus made Wyatt Barnes already boiling with anger.
Now, hearing Maximus accuse him of ’disrespecting elders’, he couldn’t help but explode!
Acting without dignity and bullying the young... and then having the nerve to say he’s disrespectful?
Ridiculous!
Utterly ridiculous!
After these words, Wyatt Barnes felt much relieved.
However, though his anger subsided, Maximus’s anger did not.
Idiot?!
With Wyatt’s words, the entire venue first fell deathly silent, and then every gaze fixated on Wyatt Barnes, making him the focus of the entire scene.
These eyes belonged to the disciples present from the Vermilion Bird Altar.
In these gazes, there was astonishment, disbelief, shock, admiration, surprise...
In short, when Wyatt Barnes brazenly called Maximus Lee a ’fool’, the disciples present at the Vermilion Bird Altar had mixed feelings:
Some thought Wyatt Barnes was courting death.
Others felt he was desperate, knowing he was doomed, trying to enjoy himself before being executed.
There were also those who admired Wyatt Barnes, regardless of his motives for being so bold.
"Wyatt Barnes, you... you’re looking for death!"
Maximus Lee once again looked at Wyatt Barnes, a fierce killing intent rising from him, and a chilling cold light flashing in his eyes.
At this moment, he felt as if Wyatt Barnes was about to explode his lungs with anger!
Since he became a Fire Worship Sect Elder, who dared to call him a ’fool’ in front of him?
Wyatt Barnes, a mere Black Tortoise Altar disciple, a mediocre talent with only a ’yellow spirit root’, dared to boldly call him a ’fool’... It made him feel as disgusted as if he had swallowed a fly!
"What? Elder Maximus Lee is enraged out of shame?"
Seeing Maximus Lee become so angry, Wyatt Barnes was amused as he calmly said, "I believe my words were not wrong... How about we have Elder Yale Wade evaluate this? As the Law Enforcement Elder of the Vermilion Bird Altar, he should understand the Fire Worship Sect’s ’sect rules’ better than either of us."
"Why not let him tell us, who provoked whom first today? Who was wrong first?"
Wyatt Barnes’ words made Maximus Lee feel as if he was going to explode with anger, leaving Maximus without a response.
After all, the conflict between him and Wyatt Barnes today was indeed instigated by him.
"If someone respects me by a foot, I will respect them by a yard!"
Seeing Maximus Lee not respond, Wyatt Barnes continued, "I, Wyatt Barnes, act in a way that is true to my conscience, true to heaven and earth... Of course, now that I’m in the Fire Worship Sect, I will surely abide by the Fire Worship Sect’s ’sect rules’."
Wyatt Barnes’ previous words were admirable, making many Vermilion Bird Altar disciples silently give him a thumbs-up.
As for his latter words, they made everyone’s expressions turn odd.
Wyatt Barnes said he would abide by the Fire Worship Sect’s ’sect rules’?
What a joke!
Is it possible that his prior action of killing the Hudson Anderson, Kenny Anderson brothers was not against the Fire Worship Sect’s rules, but rather in accordance with them?
Because of Wyatt Barnes’ previous actions, everyone present scoffed at his later statement!
"Wyatt Barnes is so shameless! He says such things."
"Exactly! If he abided by the Fire Worship Sect’s rules, he wouldn’t have killed the Hudson and Kenny Anderson brothers... Hudson could at least be considered self-defense. But Kenny? Kenny never even attacked him, yet he still killed Kenny!"
"Others saying this is fine... But Wyatt Barnes saying this, it’s simply ridiculous!"
"Looking at him, it seems more like he’s venting his emotions recklessly... It seems he realizes his time is running out."
"The Black Tortoise Altar Elder ’Maximus Lee’ has arrived... The Law Enforcement Elder ’Abraham Clifford’ from the Black Tortoise Altar should be arriving soon."
...
Most Vermilion Bird Altar disciples glanced at Wyatt Barnes, then shook their heads, believing he wouldn’t live long, which is why he’s indulging himself like this.
"Hmpf! I can’t be bothered to argue with you... Anyways, today, no matter what, you’re undoubtedly doomed!"
Realizing he couldn’t win verbal disputes with Wyatt Barnes, Maximus Lee coldly snorted and said no more, quietly standing aside, closing his eyes, and waiting for the arrival of the Black Tortoise Altar Law Enforcement Elder ’Abraham Clifford’.
Seeing Maximus Lee fall silent, Wyatt Barnes also didn’t continue, his cold gaze appropriately retracting from Maximus Lee.
The scene soon calmed down, everyone was waiting for the Black Tortoise Altar Law Enforcement Elder ’Abraham Clifford’.
A few breaths later.
Whoosh!
A faint sound entered the ears of everyone present, causing them to all look towards the distance.
They saw an aged figure swiftly approaching them.
Soon, the figure landed beside Vermilion Bird Altar’s Law Enforcement Elder ’Yale Wade’, revealing a person dressed in Black Tortoise Altar’s silver flame elder attire.
"It’s the Black Tortoise Altar Law Enforcement Elder, Elder Abraham Clifford?"
Instantly, the gaze of a group of Vermilion Bird Altar disciples fell on the newcomer.
"Elder Abraham Clifford."
Wyatt Barnes looked at the newcomer, squinting his eyes, showing no fear in the face of the arrival.
In the Fire Worship Sect’s Four Symbols Altar, as a Black Tortoise Altar disciple, Elder ’Abraham Clifford’, the Black Tortoise Altar Law Enforcement Elder, could wholly determine his fate based on the severity of his actions according to the Fire Worship Sect’s ’sect rules’!
"Elder Abraham Clifford."
Seeing Abraham Clifford appear, Yale Wade’s eyes brightened, as if seeing a ’savior’.
"Elder Abraham Clifford, you’ve arrived at just the right time... Now, you can make a judgment, let Wyatt Barnes trade his life for the lives of the Anderson brothers!"
Maximus Lee directly spoke to Abraham Clifford, seeming to issue commands in his words.
He was too eager to see Wyatt Barnes executed, leading to him unknowingly overstepping his bounds.
Hearing Maximus Lee’s words, even Yale Wade, who wasn’t directly involved, couldn’t help but frown.
As the involved party, Abraham Clifford’s expression turned dark, and he unreservedly said to Maximus Lee, "Elder Maximus Lee, I, Abraham Clifford, make my decisions. It’s not your place to meddle!"
