CHAPTER 413: CHAPTER 413: HOSPITAL, LUO AN’S INJURIES

Next to the Los Angeles Court, in the parking garage of the adjacent building on the fourth floor near the central staircase, there was a huge crater, and a thick plume of black and gray smoke could be seen even from a distance.

Behind the parking garage, on the street, sat a black sedan with a large dent in its roof.

Luo An was strikingly handsome, and right now, the few strands of fresh blood on his face did not make him look fierce, but rather, added a certain indescribable charm to his appearance.

The girl in the passenger seat was still in shock, but upon seeing Luo An smiling and talking to her, her eyes lit up and she instinctively took out her cell phone and handed it to Luo An.

The boy in the driver’s seat, who was equally startled, saw his girlfriend staring intently at Luo An, and coupled with the fact that his newly purchased car had been dented by Luo An, the boy’s face turned red with rage, he flung open the car door, and charged toward Luo An, shouting angrily:

"Son of a bitch! Hey, this is my brand-new car! You damn bastard..."

Luo An assured the boy that someone would handle the damages to his car, then took the phone from the girl and immediately called Chenier.

At that moment, Chenier was crouched amongst the debris on the third floor of the parking garage, her eyes red from searching. Hearing her phone ring, she pressed to answer, her voice hoarse:

"This is Chenier."

The young boy felt that Luo An was giving him the brush-off. His anger escalating, and upon seeing his girlfriend step out of the car, asking him not to bother Luo An, fury rushed to the boy’s head. He raised his hand and grabbed Luo An’s shoulder, forcefully trying to twist him around to face and listen to him.

"It’s me, Luo An, I’m okay."

Luo An stepped to the left to dodge the boy’s hand and said to Chenier:

"I’m on the street behind the parking garage. I’m a bit hurt, hurry up and call an ambulance for me."

The painkillers were extremely effective, and Luo An currently felt no pain anywhere on his body, but having put such a big dent in the car, there must be injuries on his body. It was definitely right to get to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible.

With the case causing such a commotion, surviving unscathed while killing the enemy would indeed earn one admiration from others, but surviving severely injured and still managing to kill the enemy would bring even greater credit.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil, and this saying holds true everywhere.

Beside them, the boy got even angrier seeing Luo An still ignoring him, and upon hearing his girlfriend scolding him, his eyes turned red. Without any more hesitation, he raised his fist and swung it at Luo An.

Sensing the rush of air from behind, Luo An turned and effortlessly caught the boy’s fist, then twisted in the opposite direction, pinning the boy’s arm behind him, and with a strong push, he easily pressed the boy against the hood of the car.

Meanwhile, Chenier, hearing Luo An’s voice, paused for a moment. Upon hearing that Luo An was still alive, she was overjoyed.

But as soon as she heard Luo An asking her to call an ambulance, her heart skipped a beat again. She immediately got up and ran to the edge of the third floor to look down, while asking rapidly:

"I’ll call an ambulance for you right away! Where are you hurt? Did you get shot? I..."

After a few seconds, Chenier couldn’t continue speaking. As she stuck her head out from the edge of the building and looked down, she saw the scene of Luo An easily pressing the boy against the car’s hood.

Chenier: "..."

Below, the girl, with a worried face, watched Luo An. Luo An gave her a reassuring look, indicating that he wouldn’t do anything to her boyfriend, then picked up the phone, and replied to Chenier:

"Don’t ask so much now, hurry up and call an ambulance, I’m seriously injured."

The girl looked utterly confused. The boy, hearing this, cursed even louder. Chenier above twitched the corner of her mouth and nodded:

"...OK."

Chenier hung up the phone and quickly explained to the ambulance crew that had already arrived where Luo An was. Then, while running downstairs, she pressed the communicator and informed Winslow, Reesi, and the others that Luo An had been found.

Winslow, Reesi, and the others, upon hearing the news, were instantly overjoyed and rushed to ask where Luo An was hurt, where he was now lying, and whether someone had given him first aid, and other questions.

"..."

Chenier was at a loss for words, opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say, so she vaguely claimed she didn’t know and that she was rushing towards Luo An.

On the other end, after hanging up the call, Luo An didn’t return the cellphone to the girl immediately, but instead continued to call Mona.

Knowing Mona’s temperament, Luo An was also worried that she would recklessly speed through the streets of Los Angeles. Since Mona’s driving skills were average, Luo An, who knew he wasn’t seriously hurt, didn’t want her ending up in the hospital.

On the distant streets of Los Angeles, an SUV was speeding forward, driven by Michelle, with Mona sitting in the passenger seat.

At the critical moment, Mona still listened to Michelle’s advice and let her take the wheel.

Chenier explained through the communicator that they had found Luo An. Mona and Michelle heard this news and, while relieved, were still very tense because Chenier was stammering and didn’t specify what injuries Luo An had sustained.

Before Mona could continue to inquire, her phone suddenly rang, and Luo An, laughing, reassured her on the other end:

"It’s me, Luo An, don’t worry, I’m fine."

"Fu-k You! Luo An!"

Hearing Luo An’s relaxed tone just like always, Mona couldn’t hold back her anger and cursed loudly, then anxiously continued:

"Exactly where are you hurt? Is it serious? Are you bleeding..."

"I am hurt, but it’s not particularly serious, and there’s no bleeding right now..."

Luo An didn’t care about Mona cursing at him, and knowing she was concerned about him, he smiled and answered each of her questions one by one.

A few seconds later, looking up and seeing Chenier, Winslow, and Reesi, as well as several doctors carrying a stretcher not far away, Luo An briefly spoke a few words, hung up the call, returned the phone to the girl, and released the boy he had been pressing down, saying,

"Hey, when my team arrives here shortly, leave your personal information, and we’ll take care of your car afterwards."

After that, Luo An stepped back, sat down on the ground with a plop, leaned back, closed his eyes, and lay down.

The girl who got her phone back was speechless at the sight, and the boy who finally managed to crawl up from the hood turned red and purple in the face. The first thing he did upon standing up was to lift his foot and kick Luo An who was on the ground.

Seeing this, Winslow and Reesi not far away immediately drew their guns and shouted:

"Don’t move!"

"Put your hands up!"

The boy froze in place, "$%&..."

Chenier: "..."

Half an hour later, Luo An was taken to the hospital’s operating room.

According to the doctor’s examination, Luo An had fractures in his left leg and right shoulder, numerous bruises and shrapnel cuts on his back, some internal organ damage from the severe shock, and a fracture in his left arm.

The injuries were serious, but not particularly so, since there were no life-threatening wounds.

But at the request of the FBI Special Investigation Team chief, and for the sake of the checkbook’s reputation, when Luo An was wheeled out of the operating room, his upper body had been wrapped by doctors into a mummy, and the examination report listed several more potentially fatal injuries.

In the hospital room, Winslow, Reesi, and Chenier looked at each other upon seeing the ’half-mummy’ Luo An on the hospital bed and learning about his real injuries.

"What do you all know?"

Choosing to ignore Mona’s rolling eyes, Luo An chuckled and took a sip of the water she fed him. Just as he was about to speak, Michelle suddenly burst in and said,

"Luo An, the team supervisor is here."
