Legendary FBI Detective
Chapter 800 - 802: The Case Truth Revealed by the Nun
CHAPTER 800: CHAPTER 802: THE CASE TRUTH REVEALED BY THE NUN
Hearing the familiar phrasing, Luo An’s expression turned somewhat peculiar. He tossed the chaotic thoughts in his mind into the trash and asked with a smile:
"From what Sister Ali seems to imply, do you have a way to get me promoted quickly?"
"That’s right."
Sister Ali nodded with a smile and said directly:
"Our Judgment Process Church has many believers within the Federation, and the Archbishop has many friends of high status and wealth.
As long as Group Leader Luo An joins our Judgment Process Church and believes in the Archbishop, with our help, your future will surely be brighter than it is now."
Luo An noticed the key point in Sister Ali’s words and asked:
"The Archbishop you mentioned, is he the founder of the Judgment Process Church? What’s his name?"
"The Archbishop was the first person to feel the will of God and was guided by God to compile and organize that will. He is the leader of our Judgment Process Church."
Sister Ali held a reversed cross with a devout expression and added:
"As for the Archbishop’s name, once Group Leader Luo An joins the church, there will be an opportunity to meet the Archbishop, and then naturally a chance to know."
Luo An memorized the useful information and then asked:
"What is Sister Ali’s position within the church? How can I trust that your promise will be effective?"
"There are no ranks among brothers and sisters in the church; we are all sufferers, all lost lambs needing guidance."
Sister Ali frequently referenced doctrine, but she still answered Luo An’s question, saying:
"I just follow the guidance of the Archbishop, temporarily responsible for helping other believers. My promise is the promise of the Archbishop. Group Leader Luo An can rest assured."
The last part of the sentence made Luo An’s eyes flicker slightly, but he showed no unusual expression and continued:
"I can join the Judgment Process Church, so how do you plan to help me get promoted quickly?"
Sister Ali smiled and said:
"Rapid promotion requires merit and connections, and we can assist Group Leader Luo An with these.
But there’s no free lunch. For the development of the church, to help more lost lambs, Group Leader Luo An, as a fellow traveler, naturally needs to contribute your own abilities as well."
Luo An’s lips curled slightly with understanding; the so-called "abilities" from her mouth were nothing more than money and resources.
It was indeed a cult.
Before Luo An could say anything, Sister Ali quickly switched the topic and said:
"However, as a newly joined believer of the church, Group Leader Luo An has not yet received grace. We naturally won’t let you contribute in vain.
We are willing to first show our sincerity and help Group Leader Luo An integrate into the church better and faster."
After speaking, Sister Ali called out loudly for Harries. The man in the jacket at the door nodded, immediately turned around and knocked on the secured door.
A few seconds passed, and the door was pushed open. A young white man pushed a wheelchair into the room and then walked out again.
Harries closed the door, crossing his arms and quietly observing Luo An. Luo An paid no attention to Harries; his gaze was entirely focused on the wheelchair’s occupant.
The wheelchair was the most common type available on the Federation market, but currently sitting in it was a young woman with light brown long hair, big eyes, and a rather delicate face.
Her mouth was covered with thick silver tape, and her arms were tied together with straitjacket sleeves commonly found in mental institutions, firmly locked across her chest.
The woman was the same Ashiya who had murdered the Cadillac owner Imre and was later taken by the footprint man Thonaka from the passenger seat.
"We heard that Group Leader Luo An was looking for her."
Sister Ali on the computer screen smiled and said:
"So we brought her to you. I’m sure Group Leader Luo An will gain quite a bit of merit in solving this case."
Seeing Ashiya blinking incessantly at him, Luo An frowned slightly, turned back to the computer screen, and said in a deep voice:
"Even with this woman, the case can’t be solved."
The external aspect of the two cases involved Imre, the Cadillac owner, killed by Ashiya, who was taken by the footprint man Thonaka, and Leisha in the other case killed by Thonaka.
The internal connection of the two cases involved the Judgment Process Church, but the specific situations had not been entirely figured out yet.
"How could that be?"
Sister Ali understood the implication behind Luo An’s words and smiled, providing her version of the case narrative:
"Thonaka has issues with his mental and emotional state. Leisha was one of his ex-girlfriends who couldn’t stand his torture and quietly left, but was eventually found and killed by the furious Thonaka.
As for Ashiya, she was also one of Thonaka’s ex-girlfriends... As for what she suffered, I believe Group Leader Luo An, with your rich experience, can surely handle this, right?"
Luo An understood Sister Ali’s case arrangement, gave her a deep look, and smiled:
"It seems Sister Ali is quite confident, believing Thonaka won’t reveal the Judgment Process Church."
Sister Ali leaned back in her chair and said with a smile:
"Thonaka is a very devout child."
Luo An nodded, pretending to agree with the proposal, and said:
"Alright, I’ll join the Judgment Process Church and accept Sister Ali’s case arrangement. Can I take Ashiya away now?"
"Don’t rush, Group Leader Luo An."
Sister Ali shook her head as Harries, standing by the door, walked over, pulled out a knife, and stabbed it into the table with a "thunk."
Sister Ali smiled and said:
"Since Thonaka has mental and emotional issues, he would naturally have ended Ashiya’s life soon after kidnapping her.
However, since Thonaka has been captured by Group Leader Luo An, ending Ashiya’s life is something only you can do for him."
The room instantly fell into complete silence.
After a long silence, Luo An glanced at Ashiya, whose eyes were wide and struggling frantically. He picked up the knife from the table, looked at Sister Ali on the computer, and smiled:
"If I’m not mistaken, you’ve already prepared a video recording, haven’t you?"
"Though the brothers and sisters in the church have no blood relations, our faith connects us, and we should open our hearts and trust each other, as no one will harm one another."
Sister Ali neither confirmed nor denied Luo An’s guess, only smiling and saying:
"Group Leader Luo An, having worked for the FBI for so long, you’ve already taken many criminals’ lives.
This time, it’s just a woman; I believe Group Leader Luo An won’t find it too difficult."
Saying this, Sister Ali paused for a few seconds, then added:
"Additionally, as you saw earlier, Group Leader Luo An, there are quite a few followers of our Judgment Process Church outside this room, all carrying some weapons to protect themselves.
I believe Group Leader Luo An can clearly distinguish which is the correct option."
Sister Ali gave Luo An two choices: either kill Ashiya with the knife under recorded surveillance and join the Judgment Process Church with this act as a token of allegiance, or be shot to death by those outside, leaving his life in this room.
Luo An picked up the knife and slowly walked to the wheelchair. Ashiya, sitting in it, struggled frantically but quickly ran out of energy. Finally, she gave Luo An a deep look, closed her eyes, and lifted her head to expose her neck, pleading for a swift end.
Luo An waved the knife, glanced at Ashiya, then at Sister Ali on the computer, and finally turned his gaze to Harries at the door, suddenly revealing a bright and sunny smile:
"Sorry, I tend to be strong-willed and prefer making my own decisions."
The next second, the cold flash darted sharply towards Harries!
