Legendary Librarian System
Chapter 17: The System’s Suggestion
CHAPTER 17: THE SYSTEM’S SUGGESTION
Now that Cai Hui finished her matters with her Big Brother Liu Wei, she chatted with him for half an hour with a relaxed attitude, even going as far as cleaning the chores for him.
Liu Wei let her be, even leading her to the kitchen.
Cai Hui took the chance to sweep her gaze at the book in the library.
The cultivation technique section led to the kitchen, so Cai Hui was able to sneakily read the title on the side of the book.
Liu Wei noticed her action and even offered to read it, but Cai Hui firmly and respectfully declined, walking straight to the kitchen and cleaning the chores.
When she was finished, she bade farewell to Liu Wei.
Liu Wei was now left alone in the library while still holding on to the leather pouch.
As he was sitting on the seat, he took out the Low-Grade Spirit Stone and threw the leather pouch at the table.
The moment his hand grabbed the Low-Grade Spirit Stone, it suddenly disappeared.
The System’s voice echoed in his head.
[You have converted one Low-Grade Spirit Stone into 10 System Points.
You have now 40 System Points in total.]
Liu Wei sighed.
I was not even able to take a good look at the spirit stones. Can’t she ask my permission next time? Is she that greedy?
Liu Wei was helpless about the System’s behavior, so he did not bother complaining.
He stood up and was about to proceed to the Alchemy Domain, when a group of people appeared in the door.
Liu Wei scrutinized them.
Suddenly, he pinched his nose, as he did not like the odor coming from the center of the group of people.
He reeks of burned herbs.
The center of the group wore a plain white robe with a design of herbs.
On his chest was a bronze badge with one flame.
From his demeanor, he was arrogant, especially when there were four cultivators on the Qi Condensation Stage.
The strongest of them was on his right, being in the late Qi Condensation stage.
When his eyes landed at Liu Wei, he immediately asked the cultivator on his right side.
"What stage is he?"
The cultivator snorted.
"He’s just at the peak of the Body Tempering Stage."
The center of the group smirked.
He pointed at Liu Wei and said, "Subdue him."
The four cultivators took out their weapon, being on the further right side utilizing his fists while the others were their sword, and immediately rushed towards Liu Wei at once.
Liu Wei did not wear any weapon at the moment, but they went all at once just to scare him.
Meanwhile, Liu Wei stared at them with a bored expression on his face, believing the System would defend him.
However...
[They are not attacking the library. Furthermore, you can scare them away anyway, so I won’t make a move. Defend yourself. You gotta learn the hardest way.]
Liu Wei sighed.
Without hesitation, as there was only a meter distance between them, he released his Sword Intent.
It was more sharp than Qi, instantly pausing the cultivators movement.
Their legs trembled, they broke into sweats.
They could barely grasp their weapon.
"What happened?" Shouted at the alchemist behind them.
Liu Wei stared at him and narrowed his eyes.
He sighed.
What a scumbag. Really believing he can do anything just because he hired some half-ass body guard.
The strongest cultivator out of four, slowly turned his head to stare at their master and spoke in a trembling voice.
"W-What have you gotten ourselves into?"
"What do you mean?"
The alchemist simply tilted his head sideways, oblivious to what was happening.
In the end, the strongest among the cultivators remained quiet, but inwardly, he was screaming.
A Sword Intent! A Sword Expert! How could someone achieve such a high level Dao when he was only a Body Tempering Stage? How could there be such a genius?
Now that he was closer to Liu Wei, he was able to scrutinize his body closely.
His eyes widened.
If he was not wrong...
Liu Wei achieved the peak of the Body Tempering Stage with different peak cultivation techniques, enabling him to reach an almost perfect state of physique before ascending the Qi Condensation Stage.
It was at this moment... he knew their lives were in his hands.
"What are you dawdling for? Finish him!"
The alchemist shouted.
He glared hatefully at the backs of the cultivators, who were not moving.
"SHUT UP!" The strongest among the cultivators immediately rebuked, glaring at the alchemist behind him.
His expression shifted instantly at a hundred and eighty degrees when he turned around and stared at Liu Wei.
He stuttered.
"Lord Sword Expert! We are very sorry for not recognizing you. We were just hired and told to follow orders from the brat behind us. We don’t care about him. In fact, we will give you his head, but please let us go."
Liu Wei was taken aback.
He pondered.
Is taking the lives of others normal here? I guess I’m too used to the peaceful Earth.
[Ah, perfect. Before you can touch some real grass, you must get accustomed to the norms of this world.
I can’t initiate a mission that is not related to the library at the moment, but I can give you a suggestion.]
’What is it?’ Liu Wei asked the System in his mind.
[Kill them and use their bodies as fertilizer.]
Liu Wei was taken aback.
’Are you out of your mind?!’
Then, he felt like the System smirked.
[If you use their bodies as fertilizer, the duration from planting to harvest will be reduced to three days!]
Now, Liu Wei felt conflicted.
If he followed what the System suggested.
It would mean he would finally kill.
In other words, taking the life of others.
Which by no means not easy, knowing he came from the world where he did not even witness someone die in front of him.
However, if he followed the System’s suggestion, it would mean reducing the planting cultivation days...
Which would benefit him a lot.
