CHAPTER 88: RECOMMENDATION TOKEN

Cai Hui bowed deeply and greeted him, "Master."

It was softer compared to the girls, who almost shouted.

The Master Alchemist, Master Yan Huoyun, smiled and said, "Cai Hui is more sensible to her surroundings. She knows that even a medicinal herb can be sensitive to the sound. Girls, please be mindful of your voice."

All the girls broke into sweats and kept their heads hung low.

One of them said softly, "We apologized, Master Yan."

Master Yan nodded.

"You can leave now."

Without hesitation, all the girls hurried to leave and bade farewell to Cai Hui when they had the chance.

Cai Hui bade farewell to them by smiling and nodding until only the President and Cai Hui were left alone in their private space.

Cai Hui asked, "Have you come looking for me, Master?"

Master Yan replied, "Yes. I remembered you were asking me for a recommendation token on the upcoming Radiant Cauldron Assembly? I have one."

Cai Hui was utterly surprised.

Her eyes gleamed with excitement as she cutely asked, "Really? Can I have them, Master? What do you want in exchange?"

Master Yan was taken aback of his apprentice’s eagerness.

She was usually shy, and thus showing less of herself.

It was definitely the first time his apprentice reacted quite exaggeratedly.

Is this token perhaps for her lover?

Master Yan shook his head and said, "I don’t want anything in exchange. This is simply a reward for your hard work. As my sixth apprentice, you have shown the brightest potential among them."

He then handed out a token with a symbol unique only to him.

It was also a token that was developed for those who wanted to give their recommendation token, thus removing the convenience of having to go through tests after tests just to be eligible for the contest.

Only the Master Alchemist and Senior Alchemist could possess them.

Even the Master Alchemist only has one token.

For him to give it to Cai Hui without expecting anything in return really showed how much he valued her.

Cai Hui felt shy by her master’s reasoning and accepted the token filled with gratitude.

She stared at her master and bowed deeply.

"Thank you for such a precious gift, Master. I deeply appreciated it!"

Master Yan hummed in agreement.

He then asked, "I’m curious. As to who you will give it to? Do you also believe they will do well in the competition, for them to skip all the tests to show if they really are a capable alchemist?"

Cai Hui smiled and replied, "He is more than capable, Master. In fact, it was him, who gave me the opportunity to become an alchemist. If it was not for him, you would not meet me and become your apprentice."

Master Yan ruminated.

So, it’s an alchemist. It seems to be not a lover, too. After all, it sounds like the man she is talking to is old.

He said in a mischievous tone, "I thought it was for your lover."

He really believed Liu Wei was old... even older than himself.

Master Yan took a deep breath and exhaled.

He said, "You are still young, Cai Hui. This is normal for your age. But, I must warn you, you must not let love take away your sanity. Especially everything you worked hard for. Better, don’t let him know."

Cai Hui was deeply taken aback. She quickly shook her head and said in an agitated voice, "It’s not like that, Master Yan! I-I don’t hold feelings for him."

Master Yan sneered.

"You are in denial. It’s good, I believe."

Cai Hui slowly calmed down and kept her head low.

She contemplated.

I-I’m not in love with Big Brother Liu Wei!

"Forget about this, Cai Hui. I just searched for you to give the token in case I might change my mind. I hope that you are simply not blinded by love and are fully confident that the person you will give the recommendation token to is a full-fledged alchemist and worth saving his time with."

Cai Hui immediately nodded and replied, "I am confident, Master Yan! Also, I’m not in love with him."

"Yeah, sure." Master Yan rolled his eyes and turned around.

All the apprentices who noticed him greeted him before focusing on their task.

Master Yan did not bother with them, not even how they did not bow towards him as he already released an order that the apprentice must treat the medicinal herbs in the Verdant Ember Gardens the same as him.

Cai Hui glanced at her master and said softly, "I am deeply thankful for this, Master Yan."

Master Yan simply raised his hand and casually waved it.
